Reel Around The Fountain

The last few days have been a heady mix of visitors bearing bottles, pub crawls, late night curries and non-stop music. We visited a newly re-opened pub on Christmas Eve and, with beer at £1.70 a pint, I really was reeling around The Fountain.

It's a much-needed booze-free day today, Jon's lit the wood burner, Moonrise Kingdom is waiting and there's an indoor picnic planned for later.

I couldn't wait to give the 1960s suede waistcoat Liz gave me for Xmas an outing. My gifts, like the ones I gave, were a fabulous mix of vintage (1960s skunk money box, Vernon Ward print, framed cutting of 1867 newspaper article), useful (electric toothbrush, Havana Club rum, Lush stuff) or just plain crazy (scorpion vodka).

The mad hair? My roots are in dire need of re-doing but I'm holding on till Monday so I have good hair for Goa.

Dragon ring, moonstone earrings and tribal cuff (Krista), Green glass rings (Em)
No rest for the wicked, I'm having the gang round tomorrow so my poor old liver's going to take another battering. I suppose I really ought to think about getting the duster out some time soon.

Vintage patchwork maxi (eBay), Tribal choker (Edie Pop)
Hope you had a cool Yule.

See you soon.

  3. What a sweet little vest/waistcoat. Love that color on you.
The best way to clean out the liver is to douse it in more alcohol. A little trick I've learned along the way. ;)

  10. At first I thought maybe you'd taken down your curtains and made them into a skirt - Sound of Music style!

Sweet outfit - though it gave me a chill. Must be warmer there than HERE.

  11. I love the choker and your do, and your purple eyes are fantastic! Your gifties look/sound cool, except the scorpian vodka! Yes the countdown is on - we're all excited for you! Xoxo

  12. LOVE your hair up like that, Vix! One has to have the right features to pull that look off and you have them in spades.

Edie sure gifted you with some awesome tribal jewelry. What a nice friend. That neckpiece looks stunning on you. And the patchwork skirt is a real find; they didn't always make them so pretty back then; they're often a bit hippie frumpy. I'm cutting up some hopeless vintage clothes with neon bright prints from the 70s that I've collected to make a tablecloth. You've inspired me to do some patchwork!

You must be beside yourself about going to Goa soon! Hoping to make it to India next year myself.

Happy New Year and take care.

  29. Pretty pretty! I wish I was in a whirlwind of partying and excitement... fighting with my iPhone, boo! I love your hair like that! When Gwensday Addams had waist length hair once in awhile she'd let me do that, and I'd put in Manic Panic coloured extensions and make them poke out at all angles! I'll have to post the pic of her at 4 going to CBGB like that. I'm undecided, kinda want to grow out my greys (silver really) and let it get long. Otoh, I'm freaking sick of seeing that ugly halfway look... maybe I'll steal your hairstyle! Loved the last "Hope you had a cool Yule" I have a vintage dish (maybe it was an ashtray, its little) that says "Have a cool Yule and a Frantic First!" (gotta pull that sucker out! XXX

I am SO jealous you're going off to sunny Goa - its mean to be summer here at the moment, we had a week of lovely weather - but now I'm back in tights again. Oh well - there's worse things I suppose. I really hope you had a lovely Christmas Vix. Thanks for all the kind comments you left on my blog in the past year, you have a heart of gold and are such an inspiration to me - rock on lady xoxo
