Go Go Pussycat

Polly Piglet's trying to get on the blog again.

She was the odd kitten out in a litter of six black and white males. Her markings are very strange, a mixture of stripes and spots with black and white whiskers, tan coloured pads and a freckled nose. She'll be six in September and likes nothing better than lying in my arms on her back like a baby.

Anyway, enough of the cat talk here's possibly my best ever vintage find.

An insanely fabulous Shubette of London 1960's fringed go-go suit.

It was a whopping £12.90 (my limit is usually a tenner) but I knew that if I didn't buy it I'd regret it forever.

What do you mean, when are you going to wear that? As my darling late Grandma always said, if you love it, buy it and the occasion will present itself.

Shubette of London go-go suit worn with vintage Ravel of Bond Street platforms, a stack of inherited costume jewellery, Barry M Cyan nail polish and 1960's Boots' false lashes.

Right, time for a snooze on the sofa before I put on my glad rags in readiness for tonight's dinner party. Enjoy your weekend!

  22. Love your granma's saying! Very wise.
My cat, Tiger-Lily is a tabby/tortie mix and is quite unusual too. She was one of five and all the others were ginger. We used to have her brother too but he sadly got hit by a car 6 years ago. Probably sound weird here, but I believe that he then came back to us in the form of our next cat who sadly dissappeared a year ago. I have only had two boy cats adn neither has made it to old age so I think that I shall have to stick with girl cats even though the are higher maintenance :)
Enjoy your dinner party tonight x

I agree with the Pan's People comment, I was also imagining you as one of Ike and Tina Turner's backing singers/dancers, shimmying wildly along to Proud Mary!

  67. I loooove the words of wisdom from your Grandma - almost as much as I love the go-go suit! Jeez, what occasion wouldn't you wear that to? It's just so fabulous.

My first cat growing up was the same colour as Polly Piglet. I was there when she was born, and she started out completely black with ginger eyebrows. The rest of colour came later, but this tiny black kitten with huge ginger eyebrows was a pretty hilarious sight.

  68. Polly Piglet is very cute! I love the markings on her face, and her eyes are gorgeous! Holly used to love proper baby cuddles when she was smaller, can't really do it now as she's a right lump.
Your hair looks really glossy in the pics Vix, not that it doesn't usually but just thought "wow check out her gorgeous locks" Go-Go suit is fun and fringe-tastic. Love it.
