eBay Rules Again

Browsing through a seller's "other items" on eBay the other day I stumbled across this 1970's leather maxi skirt. I loved it so much my heart skipped a beat and I immediately popped in a crafty snipe for well over my normal £10 limit, knowing that I wouldn't rest until it was mine.

Every day I checked and it remained at 99p. When I got up the morning after the auction closed I was overjoyed to discover my snipe had worked and I'd won the skirt for a piffling £1.20. Why, you may well wonder. Well, the seller had listed it as a LONGLEATHERSKIRT so anyone searching using the keywords "leather","vintage", "skirt" or "maxi" wouldn't have found it.

If you missed my eBay Rules post back in November please click here and you'll find my tips for bagging a bargain and also some invaluable readers comments, too.

Vintage leather maxi skirt worn with my trusty denim waistcoat, native American wolf choker (50p, car boot sale), stacks of silver and turquoise bangles & rings and Tods' boots (£7, car boot sale)

Thank you for the lovely comments yesterday about my smile. I've usually got such a demented grin on my face complete strangers call me "Smiler". For some reason my blog photos always seem to make me look serious instead of the silly, giggling fool I am in real life but I'm doing my best today!

  11. I love your ebay tips. I was always very wary of auction snipers but since your last post I have been using it often, recently won a 16ft Sea Kayak that Hubbie needed apparently ~ thanks to sniping. That skirt is a real treasure, sometimes when something like that comes along you just have to have it at almost any cost.
