1970's blouse (jumble sale), Vintage skirt (Courtesy of darling Helga), Viking pendant (Charity shop), Velvet platforms (more will be revealed soon) |
Yesterday was quite a success, I tussled with the local grannies for bargains at the Scouts' jumble sale and survived the baby shower. I didn't poison any of the guests with my vegetable quiches, stayed relatively sober and was declared to have been the cutest baby.
Me at three months old, March 1967 |
This afternoon Jon and I tootled up the motorway to visit the gorgeous Louise and hubby Peter at their stylish home in nearby Coventry. The boys escaped to pub for slap-up roast dinners and real ale whilst Louise and I tucked into homemade cake and sandwiches whilst attempting to sew.
Creativity took a back seat once Louise's lovely Mum joined us and our time was spent giggling, quaffing wine and putting the world to rights.
What did I get from the jumble sale? Well, my favourite find has to be this 1970's tricel dagger collar blouse which was 20p. That alone was well worth getting out of bed and standing in a queue in sub- zero temperatures whilst Jon tried in vain to convince the local nutter that I'm not really Cher and that I wasn't giving autographs.
Oh Vix how you make me laugh! You should pretend you ARE Cher and ask money for the photos and autographs! :P
