Such lovely comments! Thank you so much for cheering me up, my grumps have gone and I'm off out with the girls to the local bikers' pub.
It's the kind of place where you stick to the carpet, there's no locks on the toilet doors, the rock music's loud and wearing any other colour than black would probably have you barred. It's where I met Jon and spent most of my youth and as everyone knows me there's no hassle if I go out in hot pants.
I bet I'll be the only chick in there wearing Chanel's Paradoxal. Isn't it gorgeous?
I was lucky enough to win it in a blog giveaway, thanks a million, Kate.
Talking of luck, I found these vintage dressmaking patterns at this morning's car boot sale, there's thirty-eight of them in all, dating from 1952.
Maybe they'll help me recapture my enthusiasm for sewing. It seems to have deserted me recently.
What am I wearing? I bought this silk playsuit at the car boot sale this morning for 50p. It's been so warm and lovely this afternoon that I managed to wash and line-dry it ready to wear tonight. Everything else is second-hand (as usual).
LOVE IT!! BEST OUTFIT EVER!!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this, everything!
(especially the jewellery but you know I want your jewellery box!)
Have a great night, it sounds a fab pub, love sticky floors and loud music. Pub I used to go to, the local band had a drummer who used to "hold" his fag in his nose piercing (the bull ring type piercing!) nice!!
Xxxx
I love outfits that mix black and brown..u look chic and stylish..Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteYou marry brown and black well - tow of my favourite colours. Sorry to hear you were not feeling well, sweetie. Am glad you are in happier spirits today. XXX
ReplyDeleteLooking hot, Vix...you're legs and those boots are a vicious combo!
ReplyDeleteExcellent pattern haul, LOVE the hat and bag pattern.
Have loads of fun.xx
You rock, to put simply. Glad you have been cheered up. I have been cheered up too thanks to my Mum. She made my day by telling me that she was proud of me because I eat or will try the cuisine of any country and she is amazed by this as my M&D only eat very traditional British cuisine which I was brought up on. It's the little things in life x
ReplyDeleteTights and boots and thing! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better Vix. The waistcoat and playsuit combo are brilliant. I too love a less salubrious public house, if you can't stick too the floor people haven't been having enough fun, right?
ReplyDeleteWow Vix that outfit really does rock! The pub sounds just like my kind of pub, while you’re there have a pint for me. Hope you have a great night out. xxx
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit so much! Hope you have a great night xxx
ReplyDeleteThat belt steals the show!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, Vix, hats off for successfully carrying such *this* look off. Love it, and you look HOT. :)
I love your description of the biker's pub. I feel like I've been there already! It would be a great opening paragraph to an interesting novel! You look ravaging - glad you'll be safe in your familiar company!
ReplyDeleteThose patterns are classy! I'd be interested to see a finished piece :)
Love the playsuit Vix it looks fab with the tights.
ReplyDeleteDx
Dear Vix, that is probably my favourite outfit so far. You look amazing and you totally have the figure for playsuits and shorts... If you've got it...
ReplyDeleteHave a brilliant night. Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. I've spent many a night in places like that! Dressed up of course! I'm very glad you're feeling better. xx
Great outfit and nails! Sorry you had the grumps - it is horrid isn't it. That belt is a wow too - after the playsuit and legs of course!! xx
ReplyDeleteScore after amazing score!!! Only you could look so hot and funky yet fit happily into the biker enviroment!!Hope it was a great night!
ReplyDeleteAdore that whole outfit-so many amazing details!
LOVE Helga xxxXXXxxx
This has to be one of my all time faves - you look stunning Vix. That playsuit suits you to a T (Rex that is!!!) and you've been wearing some rad nail varnish recently too.
ReplyDeleteYour pub sounds just like our local rock club, in fact I had to laugh at you mentioning about feet sticking to the floor, as the club has this attribute too!
Hi my dear-the playsuit was a gorgeous bargain, it looks great with those lacy tights!! Have a great night out! x
ReplyDeleteI've kinda lost my sewing mojo a bit too of late... I think it's because him indoors put his papers on top of the fabric I was cutting and I've just not been arsed to move them. Those look like some great patterns though, I'll look forward to seeing the results of that handbag pattern! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab pattern score you lucky thing! Your hair is looking really good at the moment, it has just the right amount of movement.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember if I've said this but why not try the Lush black henna? Or buy loose henna and indigo which aparently makes a true black - I get mine from hennaboy.co.uk, it's really good stuff xxx
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay another sewing enthusiast! I've been thinking of taking a dressmaking class recently myself:)Finding those vintage patterns was quite auspicious(Wish it was me:)and definately a sign to create your own fab vintage line(Love vintage as they have timeless appeal:0). What a fab steal that silk playsuit was, I think it looks fab on you!
ReplyDeletexoxox
Oooh can't wait to see what you come up with, with the patterns!
ReplyDeleteYour boots and tights are gorgeous <3<3 Congrats on winning the nail polish!
Amazing playsuit!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovel evening - my local pubs are slightly pretentious, where you get asked for i.d when you're only buying an orange juice...

Loving today's outfit, Vix - and that Chanel nail polish is rather fab, too! I've seen it on three different blogs now, and it looks a different colour each time. I guess it's how the light catches it. x
ReplyDeleteAmazing outfit, that playsuit is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDid you have a fun nite out Vix? You look gorgeous, I'm sure you turned more than a few heads. In fact I'm positive the guys were murmuring...that Vix(en)! Hope you had a pint for me!
ReplyDelete~Bonnie
Love the Chanel polish...I think that might go on my birthday list, move over Rouge Noir (did I really say that!)
ReplyDeleteThe tan colour and black always works well. Looks great on you! The playsuit is a great find.
I think the fact is that you and I were about long before the invention of the generic Wetherspoons types. The closest we had were the Firkin pubs which were all the same but spit and sawdust. My local has been my local for 19 years, it changed hands a few years ago though and it's never been the same.

Super-gorgeous! Rock on, Vix. Hope you have a great evening with the girls!
ReplyDelete*wolf whistles* You look absolutely smokin' today missus!
ReplyDeleteMy sewing mojo has buggered off as well. I got totally flummoxed with the summer dress pattern you sent me, cut out some muslin and then got cross with my own stupidity and haven't touched it since. Must get a grip!
You're wearing those fab newly thrifted boots aren't you, you minx!! You look gorgeous and I love that nailpolish! Very, very interested in seeing more of those patterns and maybe some results if you feel so inclined?! Have a fab night honey! xo
ReplyDeleteThis may be the most awesome outfit I have ever seen you in (so far!) Have a great night!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that kind of bar. I used to frequent a similar one in Illinois. In Kentucky, on Sundays, you couldn't buy booze, so we'd all pile up and go to the Frontier Lounge. Once a guy was killed there with a pool stick ;) I swear! The live bands were great and you could make out while sitting at the bar ;)
Darn liver :) One of these days!............
Sorry I've been behind popping in. Still cleaning, and working to get stuff ready for a yard sale next weekend at my Mom's.
The polish is fab. I am gonna try to make a version of it as well. May I copy ?
Drink a few beers for me :)
xxxxxx, Reva
Wow! This is such a HOT playsuit and love those tights! Looks Good :)
ReplyDeleteyou look fab, Vix!!! And I adore your jewellery! This pub seems to such a great place! I remember days I used to wear black from head to my toe...
ReplyDeleteженщина в любом возрасте красива!))
ReplyDeleteYou rock! Love the nails and the vintage dress patterns - get sewing!
ReplyDeletesick as fuck outfit
ReplyDeletegreat blog xx
Vix, you make biker bars chic! Great romper, and yes, that polish is to die, great win! XX!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous jumpsuit and looks lovely with the rust waistcoat (is it suede?) and belt - Kudos for wearing the hotpants - with legs like that why hide them? - I toyed with hotpants day before yesterday and backed out because of the torrential rain. Annoying it cleared up and I ended up sweltering in trousers instead.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a brilliant pub - hope it was a fab night. Had too much fizz last night - feeling lousy! xx
ReplyDeleteThose vintage dress making patterns look a real treat of a bundle. I love the illustrations on them, so classic and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy sewing machine is a little too redundant lately. Much said it's in some desperate need of use xx
I LOVE that playsuit, Vix! I've been looking for a great one for ages, but obviously I've been looking in the wrong places! xxx
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of place ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd your outfit rules! I looooooove it. How I wouldn't love to rummage in your closet, hehe....
xoxo
