After three nights out and a diet of beer, curry and chips my poor old body's feeling the strain. It's a day of taking it easy, no car boot sales or anything too strenuous. Jon's cracking on with decorating the spare bedroom and I'm making a start on some patchwork curtains after I've tackled the bombsite formally known as our bedroom.
This is just what one of my wardrobes is looking like. I can't wait to have another room to house my clothing.
Last night we met the gang for a few beers in the local followed by a visit to the Balti house. We bumped into some of the Glastonbury crowd and spent the evening getting fired up in readiness for next year's festival.
This was my outfit. The totally fantastic Alex sent me this amazing skirt this week, it fits to perfection.
Vintage cord maxi skirt (Courtesy of Alex), 1970's Cotton velvet jacket (Car Boot Sale), Oversized cobalt bag (British Heart Foundation, Vintage section, Worcester), Chandelier Earrings (Colaba street market, Mumbai)
Right, off to do battle with the wardrobe.
Hi there!! Good luck with the wardrobe sort out-I do love this outfit, the maxi skirt and jacket are such a perfect combination! Enjoy your day! x
ReplyDeleteLoving that jacket. Beautiful sleeves. Everything should be made of cord. Why is there not more corduroy?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful jacket - such a gorgeous colour and love a puff sleeve. Dig the colourful clutch too. Your wardrobe and bedroom is order and tidiness compared to what mine normally looks like if it makes you feel any better! And it looks like a gorgeous enticing jumble anyway!
ReplyDeleteLooking good as always Vix. :-) Sometimes it's good to just chill out. I did that yesterday. :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh Vix, how nice that it's made a blog appearance so soon! So glad that you love it.
ReplyDeleteYour wardrobe looks a big explosion of divine colour to me. Very stylish too - my messy pile of clothes on the floor is nothing by comparison!
Sounds like you have been having a good time. I am lucky enough to have a separate room for clothes but trust me, you will always need more room as it is never enough as because you have the space, you will use it as an excuse to buy more. At least that is what I do xxx
ReplyDeleteHe he, and I'm taking it easy tonight, after a punishing weekend of buying and selling; I only wish I could say it was a punishing weekend of socialising! That style of jacket really suits you. Just wait till you see what I found today!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really likin' that jacket, too! And the look at your wardrobe is SO intriguing. Even if you think it's messy, it is a classy mess! Can't wait to see those new curtains. I remember liking the ones you showed before (and intending to do something like it - but haven't got to it yet.)
ReplyDeleteohhhhh man, that skirt.
ReplyDeleteThe most fashionable bombsite wardrobe I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteYour new room sounds very exciting and those patchwork curtains please show, once you have completed them.
Cord always instantly makes me think of cosy autumn nights, a perfect fabric for a new season xx
Looking fab, the little jacket is pretty. Alex's skirt pressie is wonderful you look all Autumnal.
ReplyDeleteYour poor wardrobe, groaning at the seams hope you show us the newly decorated room once it's done.

I love the jacket, it's gorgeous! Also, your wardrobe situation seems mighty familiar... hubby and I are sharing a wardrobe at the moment. It's hell! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous 70's-style skirt to be gifted with(sort of skirt I love and would wear:)as you so pretty in it!
ReplyDeleteWow! I have to say you've got a 'very covetable' closet wardrobe full of lovely treasures(the camera never lies:)

I like this look- Edwardian era meets the 1970s
ReplyDeleteWe've had a very quiet Sunday here, too. Up FAR too late last night with friends who we haven't caught up with for ages, so was feeling a little on the delicate side this morning. Still cross with myself for missing the car boot sale today. xx
ReplyDelete:O that blouse. is the sex.
ReplyDeletetotally!
I LOVE the photo of your wardrobe,so boudoirish!!
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you Vix!! x I think I'd be a little bit happier to lose more around my waste, but otherwise I'm much happier about my weight. Dinner was delicious. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose colours suit you so well and are perfect for this time of year! your wardrobe looks incredible, I wish I had half as many clothes! x
ReplyDeleteHi Vix, this outfit looks fantastic. Have a lovely evening xxx

Absolutely adoring the maxi - if only I could have beer and chips and look as gorgeous as you do! And I love the overflowing wardrobe - I don't believe in hiding clothes away! xx
ReplyDeleteOooo, adore the maxi and the velvet jacket! Yummo!!Love the cobalt clue bag with it-nicely surprising colour addition!
ReplyDeleteHope the wardrobe tidy up wasn't too stressful.I had to do it too, after G helped me move all the cases and shoe crates from my floor to the Pasadena Room-too soon to put them back on the shelf!
A wardroce sort/tidy up is quite exciting sometimes,as I frequently find itemsd I'd forgotten about!

Love your cute cupboard. I know that was random but I just noticed it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe velvet jacket, only you can pull it off!
Love your frills and jacket in the previous post too!
Dear Vix, I love the way you've styled that outfit and the blue and orange are great together. Good luck with the wardrobe sort out. Mine still looks like there's been an explosion, but there has been a bit of progress. Hope you had a relaxing day, you deserve it xx
ReplyDeleteHi Vix!
ReplyDeleteLoving the skirt and bag :)
I have a couple short-sleeved velvet blazers. I need to look em up!
Little Monkey left a few hours ago. I cried. I'm such a sap for kitties :) The new owners are really neat and excited.
Off to keep working on clearing out wardrobe myself. My rolling rack toppled over from the weight. Another mess to contend with :)
Love the jacket and the blue clutch! The messy cupboard shot is pretty cute too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful. :) I love this outfit. It is so boho and fab and so YOU. That makes me smile. And mmmm...I think I could live on a diet of beer and curry. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI am coveting that jacket Vix!!! and the clutch! You look fabulous as usual... love the burnt orange colour against your skin!
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is lovely! Your wardrobe...!!!!! sigh... cleaning it up would be like doing battle with a Bond era Sean Connery... it's tough but damn delicious!!!!
Love that velvet jacket, it fits you perfectly. The blue clutch is a beautiful contrast to the warmer colours in your outfit.
ReplyDeleteThirty-eight 1950s vintage sewing patterns in one find! That is almost unbelievable.
Dear Vix,
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous outfit; that jacket is magnificent & the colour is perfect on you.
...xXx
Is this a cord skirt? How wonderful! Love the pattern and the colours, and it does fit you magnificently. I think you should have a whole room for you clothes - big mirrors, overflowing wardrobes, a vintage dummy... A lady like you deserves a room like this, Vix! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is such a marvellous outfit! Love the jacket, it's so elegant yet cool! Ah, Vix, your style never falters xxx
ReplyDeleteYour wardrobe looks so interesting :)
ReplyDeleteI think you have snuck into my room and took a pic! In all seriousness, your white wardrobe with things hung on every concieveable space is IDENTICAL to mine!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely weekend, all the beer and food is hard work, but very necessary!
x
I adore your wardrobe bombsite -- It looks like a tantalizing magazine photo for Victoria or similar. I want to dig in there and try things on. The cobalt bag is so bright, rich and beautiful, and a lovely contrast with the russet velvet of the jacket!
ReplyDeletelove the color of the jacket..and the color contrast with the purse. would love to know how u organized ur closet, shoes and jewelry..
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket and skirt, velvet and cord are my favourite fabrics. I really must sort my bedroom out, I have too much stuff and too many people living here to keep it all! xx
