My oldest friend Liz (not last night's dinner party hostess), had the day off work today and needed to purchase a few essentials from town. Inevitably the lure of the local second-hand and charity shops proved too much and we came back without any of the items on the list.
The proprietor of a rather cool second-hand emporium had put this fabulous coat on one side for me. Not only vintage but Indian-made vintage at that and also a perfect fit. Not bad for £7.
The Pogul Weaving Mill in Sholapur, Maharastra has sadly long since shut down.
I do love a hood.
Dressing-up for dinner last night was much appreciated. We ate vegetarian antipasti followed by a wild mushroom risotto and garlic bread....yum, yum!
If the weather stays as chilly as it has been today I'll be needing this coat for The Big Chill.
Oh it's gorgeous! And a hood as well, what could be better?
ReplyDeleteThe work that has gone into your coat is fantastic Vix. It looks great!

Absolutely stunning! A true bargain. Mr. Eddus of Big Biscuits snapped up a real steal today, a first edition hardback Faber & Faber poetry book (The Invasion Handbook, by Tom Paulin) for £2! The ladies didn't know its true worth, despite how striking and renowned Faber books are. He also surprised me with a gift a week or so back, "The Catholic's Latin Instructor" from 1897 for £2.99. Both are worth at least £25 each, if ever we become truly indigent.
ReplyDeleteThat coat is gorgeous. Will definately be good seeing as the weather has taken a turn for the worse again!
ReplyDeleteO how lovely!!That is a real sweetie!
