John Marks maxi (Vintage Village @ Clothes Show Live), Original 70's flared jeans (Car boot sale), Cherry wedges (TopShop), Ribbed vest & leather Gladstone bag (Jumble sale), Striped socks (Poundland), Silver jewellery (India), Gilt hoop earrings (gift), Turquoise pendant (Mum).
What a beautiful Sunday morning it is here in the West Midlands! Our epic hangovers put paid to any early morning car boot sales so it's been spent catching up on routine chores - a trip to the supermarket, a spot of light weeding, washing, ironing and cleaning the car.
I bought my velvet maxi from The Clothes Show Live last year with some birthday money. It was marked up at £75 but the fabulous vintage seller and I got on a treat and she let me have it for £30 as she said I was born to own it. I'm not sure if it's actually dress or a waistcoat, I've worn it both ways and I love it to bits. I might even attach a fake fur collar to increase it's hippy-tastic credentials.
My pendant is a hand-me-down from my beautiful mother. It was a gift from an ex-boyfriend way before I was born, something he picked up whilst travelling the USA in the early 1960's. It's a huge chunk of turquoise (my birthstone), etched with Native American designs and set in solid copper.
Our garden is in it's most gorgeous stage at the moment, hundreds of bluebells, forget-me-nots and pretty yellow Welsh poppies and Broom. Jon managed to mow the grass on Friday (between showers) whilst I looked on encouragingly. I'd love to help but the mowers one of those huge petrol beasts and I'm far too delicate to push that monster up and down the lawn.
Hey, your waistcoat/ dress is fab. It's so colourful, I love it. I also love tourquiose, it's just so vibrant, not my birth stone though, but I think it's my Hubby's, he's a Saggitarius!
ReplyDeleteLove the waistcoat/dress, very original and the colours are lovely. The necklace is really nice too! x
ReplyDeleteI love it! The maxi is so cute :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Vix, you look really cute with the plaits and far too fresh faced to have a hangover. I'm feeling the effects of a tiny bit too much Whiskey last night and I look sooo rough!

I agree with the vintage seller! You WERE born to own that velvet waistcoat! I so applaud (and envy) your sense of personal style. Your garden/natural setting is beautiful, too. Like you, I look on admiringly while my husband mows the grass (which grows SO quickly between our frequent rains).
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunningly gorgeous today my lovely!
ReplyDeleteAs you know I'm not a great fan of jeans but you've managed to make them look totally individual & fun rather than a uniform for the greymass swell.
I also love the colours & the print on the waistcoat/dress.
...xXx
