With just over 7 weeks before Glastonbury we thought we'd better start getting Gylbert, our beloved campervan, ready for the festival season. He's been thoroughly aired, the battery's been charged up and he's had a run out to the dismal Bank Holiday Monday car boot sale. I just need to rifle through my vintage fabric stash to run up some new cushion covers and curtains.
Coin-trimmed dress (Pondicherry flea market, India), 1960's suede waistcoat (Charity shop), Ripped leggings (Handmade), Leather ankle boots (Miss Selfridge), Silver bangles and rings, antique rupee coin pendant and "Om" earrings (India)
Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed our groovy leopard print kitchette.
Thanks for the lovely comments after yesterday's post, I'm truly touched by your kindness and support.
I haven't forgotten the blog giveaway I promised you before my travels. The details will be announced very soon....watch this space!
Today's car boot sale wasn't really very inspiring and we didn't get there till late however I did pick up a fab Christian Dior "Star Fuschia" lippy for £2 and the 50p Reader's Digest craft book has some inspiring seventies-tastic projects including tie-dye, finger weaving and papier mache jewellery making.
oh. my god. i can't believe you have a campervan! i would only ever condsider taking a driving test if i could get my hands on a vw campervan (preferably in light pink or blue!) :) i love the book you picked up at the car boot sale, i need to get my hands on something similar.

Ohh I love your camper van, bring it to see me ;)
ReplyDeletegorgeous outfit x
Jealous of the camper, has it got a name? :)I think a camper is the way forward for me and Andy, it's the only way he'll go to glasto.
ReplyDeleteAnd nice work on the ripped leggings! They look wicked.
Amazing outfit, and cracking jewellery bought from Goa. Such gems! Can't wait for the giveaway sure it'll be fab.
X x
Woah - do you take him to Indietracks and camp in Golden Valley campsite? I've definitely seen a bright orange camper van there, but someone told me it was Darren Hayman's?!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking fab as ever!
xx
Oh, I'd love to experience life in a campervan for a bit. Must be an amazing experience. Lat year I was at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Fran (which I'd really recommend) and there were so many prettily decorated vans. The perfect festival accommodation (so long it's accessorised with plenty of red wine!) x
ReplyDeleteLoving Gylbert especially the custon interior! If you pop over to my blog, you can meet our campervan, Lexie. She's American, 41 this year and always on the lookout for tottie boy campers! x
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so awesome! You are so cool. LOVE IT. And GLAD YOU ARE BACK! You will have to post more pics of the interior when it is all ready! Love the leopard print!
ReplyDeleteA leopard print kitchenette? I DIE!!! I've never seen anything so utterly FABULOUS in my LIFE!!
ReplyDeleteMy good friend has a very similar camper (also orange, named Lulu), who sits proudly on their drive all year long. I adore them, especially in orange - the ultimate shrine to the swinging sixties! :)

You and Gylbert make quite a team!
ReplyDeleteAwesome outfit, the coin necklace & Om earrings are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteFinger weaving and papier mache jewellery making sounds very exciting.
When I was ten I made a whole set of papier mache glove-puppets for an open day performance at school. Quite messy but so much fun!
What a nice feeling to be able to just take off in a campervan & stop anywhere that takes your fancy (as long as it's out of sight of miserly land owners).
We never had a campervan but most summers when I was a kid my folks would squeeze the whole brood & camping paraphernalia in to the Volvo station wagon & take off up north.
In Sweden they have something called ’allemansrätten’ which literally means "everybody's right" & it’s a freedom to roam granted by the Constitution of Sweden.
‘Allemansrätten’ gives a person the right to access, walk, cycle, ride, ski, and camp on any land, with the exception of private gardens, the immediate vicinity of a dwelling house, land under cultivation, nature reserves and other protected areas and as the population density of Sweden is only 19.7 peeps per square kilometre as supposed to 244.2 in the UK there’s plenty of room to roam too.
