Reading Helga's latest post this morning whilst waiting for the tea to brew I was reminded of a similar 1970's frock picked up recently at a jumble sale. I'd loved the colours and the fit but the length was a bit on the frumpy side so it had been consigned to the "maybe" pile in the bottom of a cupboard. A quick session with the Wondaweb, a hot iron and my trusty pinking shears and voila, a dress fit for a Vix.
Coat and boots (TopShop), Vintage bag and dress (both 20p finds), Jewellery (India)
I do so love my chartreuse coat, another case where I fell in love at full price in TopShop and waited patiently until it was knocked down to £20. This is it's third winter and it never fails to brighten my day when I wear it.
Leader of the opposition, David Cameron's wife, Samantha, has the very same coat, but I bet she paid full price.
It's so cold here today that we've got a fire blazing in the grate.
Never mind, there's just three weeks left till we jet off to India for a month of Goan sunshine.
how often do you go to india in a year? so jealous! i love that colour coat, very springy looking.

Hey Bella!
ReplyDeleteI go to India twice a year if I can. I was in Tamil Nadu for three weeks over New Year.
Thanks for visiting.

ReplyDeleteI love that you just jet off to India! I am so incredibly jealous :D
ReplyDeleteAnd that coat is beautiful, i love the belled sleeves xx
Ha ha the Sarah Cameron fact made me chuckle. What a claim to fame! I do love your coat, I am going to start hanging around the sale rail at Topshop.
ReplyDeleteHi there-you wear your coat so much more stylishly than Samantha, LOL!! Fabulous outfit and lucky you to have a wonderful holiday to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress, and I love the coat - the colour is so bold. I like the fact that you teamed it with what looks mighty like indigo tights and boots (could be dodgy colour calibration on my monitor, but there you go, it looks wonderful in any case.) xx
ReplyDeleteWish I was off to India at the moment, it's freezing! Brrrr. Love the coat, it really suits you! x
ReplyDeleteLove this colour against your dramatic dark hair. Lucky lady, jetting off to escape the UK's idea of 'spring'. I say 'spring' with a wrinkled nose and a look of distain - it may be sunny, but gosh darn it's cold! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so unbelievably dim - it's taken me until reading this post to understand your MSE username.
ReplyDelete*hangs head in shame*
Love, love, love the print on the dress.
