Mummy's Little Angel

Despite a booze-sozzled late night, the spring sunshine woke me early this morning so we made the most of the day by visiting the car boot sale on nearby Cannock Chase. I freely admit to being a city girl at heart and the countryside kind of scares me, what with the dead animals at the side of the road, strange smells and the huge open expanses of nothingness I do feel a little out of my comfort zone. Still, nothing stands in front of Vix and her bargains.

These two cheeky gnomes set me back 50p for the pair. They'll be right at home in my herb garden.

The orange leather shoulder bag cost 50p as did the goatskin clutch. The man who sold me the clutch told me his late dad brought it for his mother from Aden where he served with the British Army in the 1950's.

A kindly stall holder gave me these chintzy lampshades for free as he reckoned that they were "very old-fashioned". The kitschy celluloid pirate was 50p.

This 1970's angel sleeved dress was 10p. I think it started life as a maxi as it had a raw hem which was soon rectified with my trusty Wonda-Web.

I think my new bag complements the wooden wedges rather well.
It's Mothering Sunday here in the UK today so I'll be visiting mum later complete with pressie, card and bunch of daffs. I also managed to get her a bag of wool at the boot sale, so I will be popular.

Hope you've all had wonderful weekends!

I can't get my head round the fact your dress cost 10p. That is just crazy!

Well done for spoiling your Mum :)

  2. Ahh great finds! I passed up on a car boot sale today in favour of a roast beef dinner for mothers day, it certainly was a difficult decision! :)

That dress is lovely! I thought I'd found a bargain when I paid £20 for a maxi dress yesterday from a vintage stall, but that dress is a steal! x

I'm in love with your gnomes; if I had a garden then I'd definitely be an avid gnome collector.
I also pick up wool for mum at the car boot sales, in the sneaky hope that she'll transform it into a gorgeous granny blanket or a fabby pair of legwarmers for me ;)
