Beauty And The Beast

Jumpsuit and waistcoat (charity shop), Dior money belt (car boot), Shoe boots (TopShop)

I've been struggling with a beast of a cold for the best part of this week which means I've missed my Pilates, Yoga and swimming for fear of passing on my germs. In fact I've got a case of the Wednesday blues as I've not ventured further than the paper shop to pick up The Guardian all week.

My misery was lifted earlier by the arrival of my beautiful vintage maxi dress which I won on eBay for a bargainacious £5.50. A perfect fit and so cute, I can't wait to wear it to Glastonbury. Who says you can't get a bargain on eBay these days?

A reader asked for a peek at some of my beauty products, so here's my make-up. I store it in a cutlery tray which helps me find everything at a glance and can be stowed neatly away into my dressing table drawer once I've put my face on.

Most of my cosmetics are picked up at market stalls, a great source of high-end products at low-end prices. Car boots and church fayres are great hunting grounds too, people often chuck stuff out after one application or off-load their collection of unwanted GWPs for pennies.

  7. If there's one person I know can pull off a maxi, it's you. You look delightful! I'm a firm believer in eBay bargains... if you know where to look. There's a whole host of undiscovered treasures waiting in strange, unsearched categories! :)

Hope you feel a bit better soon. x

  10. Gone are the delightful days when you could bag a good vintage dress on eBay for 99p.
There are still bargains to be had for sure but you just have to look a lot harder for them as most eBay sellers are a whole lot more clued up nowadays than when it all began & the postage prices are steeper too, blinking Royal Mail.
    Your new dress is lovely!
I can just see you at Glasto wearing this teamed with a handmade wild flower wreath and sandals, weather permitting ;).
The cutlery tray storage idea is just great, I was thinking about getting a couple for keeping beads in when I'm crafting.
Hope your beastly cold skedaddles & that you’ll feel better soon!

  11. That dress is perfect, I have been looking for a maxi dress for ages on ebay but never find any bargains. What a clever idea using a cutlery tray, I must try that.

  12. Love both those outfits. Maxi perfect for Glasto (wish I could afford to go!) would look great with wellies or sandals.
Good idea on the cutlery tray storage aswell, mine is in a box and I'm always losing something every morning.

    Get well soon. X xxx

  17. A lot of my friends are off to Glastonbury this year. If I am able to go the only festival I'll probably be doing is Secret Garden Party for my friends hen do.

The dress looks fab on you - what a bargain.

I really should actually sort out some storage for my make up - it's currently held in about 20 different make up bags!
