Hello, lovely people. Here's what's been happening in my world since I last posted.
On Wednesday, for a morning of charity shopping, I wore an All About Audrey block printed midi dress with my Rawhide coat, a vintage tooled leather belt (both charity shopped), Clarks platform boots & my trusty plum fedora.
On Thursday, for swimming and a 'Spoons breakfast, it was a Dilli Grey cord maxi skirt, a Pink Lemons Indian block print cotton blouse and some second-hand Toast cowboy boots. At the baths I learnt that one of the regulars had died last week, within hours of us chatting to her, with a catastrophic bleed to the brain. I'd been dithering about flight prices for weeks but after that news I went straight home and booked a trip to our beloved Paleokastritsa in Corfu (below). That will be our third holiday this year, tut tut.
I don't want to tick things off bucket lists or make f*cking memories (that phrase makes me so inexplicably angry I want to punch a wall whenever I hear it). With my family's track record of Dementia and Alzheimer's, I'll be lucky to remember my own name in a few years time, I just want to live in the moment and for whatever time we have left to be filled with joy and for me, that means travel.
Today (Friday) I left Jon to the papering and popped into town for a few supplies. I wore a Levi's denim shirt with an embroidered cotton dress from the Monsoon 2022 sale over the top (which is a lot more vibrant in real life but my camera couldn't cope with the sunshine) plus a green fedora (Monsoon, 2022), my Clarks boots and a 1950s Tyrolean tapestry belt. So many people commented on how much they loved my style my head was swollen by the time I got home.
Yep, that's the true colour of my dress, worn with my monogrammed silver brooch, inherited from my maternal great-great grandma, Mary Alice Chapman (1817 - 1882), shown wearing it in the photo below.
Talking of old stuff, here's this week's secondhand finds...
Clockwise from top left: Dusky rose off-the-shoulder top (mine!); 1980s Art of Silk Jungle Book print waistcoat from Tie Rack; Mexican cotton maxi dress (love it but I've got an almost identical one already); 1970s pink polyester maxi dress; 1980s scribble print ra-ra dress (fabriqué en Francais!); Vintage Guayabera dress; 1970s smoking jacket; 1970s cheesecloth dagger collar blouse; New with tags Marks & Spencer fringed poncho; People Tree organic cotton midi dress; Edinburgh hoodie (made in Scotland); 1970s crushed velvet bolero, made in the USA for Niki; Handmade tweed waistcoat; Kappa hoodie (big with the kids at the mo); Fake fur & vinyl bomber; Oasis 1960s-style Princess coat; 1980s Casual Club leisure shirt and another vintage Guayabera dress (we often buy & sell the shirts but the dress version is new to me!)
I was fascinated by this - a straw briefcase which must have been donated by an employee from the Court of Appeal in the Bahamas. How on earth did it end up in the Black Country?!
Here's the Court of Appeal in Nassau where it would have been carried into work every day.
Jon thinks we could use it as a prop to create a Bahamian version of Death In Paradise which he absolutely loves and I refuse point blank to watch (I hate twee crime shows, I won't watch another of his favourites, Midsomer Murders, either!)
Not that I don't appreciate a bit of mindless entertainment...the Ambo (aka the Air Ambulance charity shop) was selling 3 DVDs for a quid yesterday but as we're their favourite customers they insisted we took 4. I was absolutely appalled when I first watched Mamma Mia! on an Air India flight in the noughties but over the years I've embraced the utter ridiculousness of both it and the sequel. This brand new copy of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is a special Sing-A-Long version, all the more fun with a few rum 'n' colas. Watching it'll make me even more excited than I already am for our two upcoming trips to Greece! As I'm sure you'll know, we both adore Wes Anderson so The Grand Budapest Hotel was an absolute must and who can resist a film about one of my early teenage favourites, Spandau Ballet? It's described as Sex, Drugs and Shoulder Pads which made me laugh out loud.
And for those of you new to my blog (where have you been?) here's my mum, brother Marcus and I with Jacob in 1975 back in the days when Stonecroft was my grandparents' house - that's our kitchen window, still full of houseplants.
The garden is awash with wild garlic and bluebells.
The poor house is in a sorry state with the ongoing repointing work but I'm sure it'll all come right in the end, it's stood since 1750.
I'm hoping that the weekend forecast for sunshine and warmth is correct, I want to get my houseplants repotted inbetween doing a bit of reading! I've just finished Hitman Anders & the Making of It All, which was a bit daft and I was quite pleased to get to the end of it. Next on the reading pile is Playing Cards in Cairo and Johnny Marr, The Smiths & The Art of Gun Slinging. I've also got the small matter of a cabin bag to pack....
Me and my glamorous assistant wish you a very happy weekend. See you on the other side!
So sorry about your swimming friend. I agree with absolutely with you gra the moment. My youngest son had a brain bleed thank goodness he is ok but it was horrible it certainly makes you live for the moment. I love Paleokastritsa had my first holiday on Corfu in 1975 and have been back a lot since what amazes me is there are still fabulous places to visit untouched by tourism. Hope you both have a wonderful time. I love, love your Monsoon sale dress you look fab as ever in it. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, Sue, that bleed on the brain your youngest lad experienced must have been absolutely dreadful for all of you. I'm so glad things turned out okay. Even though I only exchanged pleasantries with that lady every week it's such a jolt when someone goes just like that, it really could happen to anyone, couldn't it?
DeleteI bet Paleo was wonderful in 1975. It's such a beautiful and unspoilt place and I'm so excited to know that I'll be gazing out on that view before too long.
I don't wear that Monsoon dress nearly often enough. Thanks for the kind words! xxx
Hi Vix, I agree with you too to live in the moment. A blogging friend had been dealing with cancer for the last five years. She celebrated her 40th birthday last October and everything was looking great. She stated on her birthday she wanted 40 more years. Sadly within two weeks she passed away. My attitude towards life really changed that day.
ReplyDeleteI know I have said this a few times but the items you find in second hand stores are incredible! Glad to see Jacob looking so well. Wow, I knew your house was old but I didn’t realize it was from 1750. By Canadian standards that is mind boggling!
Have a wonderful weekend.❤️❤️
Robin
Hello Robin. That's so sad about your blogging friend, 40 is far too young and it's utterly tragic that the evil C took her life when she'd got so much fight in her.
DeleteWe often remar about how our house was standing when Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo or America was fighting the Revolutionary War. If only buildings could talk.
Much love to you. xxx
Go for it, Vix. Time is the most important thing we have. I'm so sorry to hear about your swimming friend's sudden demise. None of us know what we have in store so make the most of every day is my motto! One of the reasons I got a dog aged 70...
ReplyDeleteYou are looking gorgeous in all your outfits. I love how your plum fedora and the rawhide coat are such a good match. The Monsoon dress is beautiful; such a wonderful colour. As for your chazza finds they were fabulous and I would love the Mexican dress but it would make look like a meringue!
Both Jacob and William are looking in the pink.
Today, the weather has been cold, wet and quite miserable. Have a wonderful time in Corfu; at least you'll have sunshine!
xxx
Yes Vronni, it's all about taking the bull by the horns and just going for it. It seems such a shame that someone who made an effort to stay fit and healthy should just go like that but hopefully she didn't suffer.
DeleteThanks for the kind words on my outfits, I'm not sure why that Monsoon dress looked so faded in the photos, it's such a vibrant peacock-y green colour in real life. The mexican dress is gorgeous and so very nearly a keeper, I doubt anything would make you look like a meringue, you look fabulous in everything.
The weather was atrocious when I walked into town this morning but quite pleasant this afternoon - as long as you kept your coat on.
Have a fabulous weekend with beautiful Rain! xxx
I'm with you on creating joy NOW because the way the world is at present we really do not know what the future will be like, xx So sorry about your friend, what a shock for everyone.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have to disagree with you and side with Jon over Death in Paradise. You are absolutely right that it is twee Midsomer-like rubbish (but with much nicer scenery and better drinks) but it is charmingly, stupidly entertaining and I love it.
My sentiments exactly. If we all get blown to oblivion over the weekend at least I'll go thinking I'd got a holiday booked! While I suppose that's the way most of us would chose to go, quickly and hopefully with no suffering, its hellish for those left behind, isn't it?
DeleteOh yes, Jon absolutely loves Death in Paradise, he can watch the same episode over and over again (he's the same about Rosemary & Thyme!) xxx
Ah, now there we differ. I definitely cannot watch MM a second time, R&T has not aged too well (or perhaps I have seen them too often) and although I am a very late convert to DiP, I don't think they will stand a rewatch either.
DeleteHey there! I also hate the phrase "making memories", too stupid, just live your life folks!
ReplyDeleteIt's all too Instagram my for me. I love Mamma Mia, the songs and the Greek islands are enough. I am watching The Durrells on netflix, mainly to get to get to ogle Corfu. I read recently that the house is now available for holiday lets. Most probably highly priced too. That lilac dress and suede coat is a gorgeous combo.
Yes, Carole. You can imagine that Making Memories nonsense written in a swirly script with a rainbow behind it. Like you say, just live your life and don't feel the need to justify your choices!
DeleteThe Durrells is lovely, we were on a bus in Corfu a couple of years ago and the mother of the actress who played Larry's girlfriend, Daphne was sitting behind us and giving us all the behind the scenes gossip.
I bet that house is gorgeous. They call that area Kensington On Sea as it's only very posh Londoners who can afford to stay there! xxx
Same happened to my Dad. Here on the Wednesday lunchtime, gone by Thursday teatime. 37 years later, we're still getting over the shock. You wear those dresses and book those holidays. Life is very fragile (particularly at this moment in history). Xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's awful about your Dad, Jon's dad died very suddenly, too. It's something you never get over. You're right about life being very fragile at the moment, I've just walked away from the TV, its starting to feel like the end of the world is nigh. xxx
DeleteYou are impressive in the way you think about life. And you are absolutely right about that.
ReplyDeleteExperience and see what's going on, happiness in the moment is what counts.
I love the picture of you wearing the brooch <3
Have a nice weekend Vix
Thank you! I've never been much of a planner, or a dreamer, I just want to do everything right now! xxx
DeleteYep, people we love do indeed pass away before we are prepared and I try not to think back too much as I have regrets, things left unsaid etc., best to forge on and not dwell on the past. Totally agree with you ref holidays and memories, my memory is becoming very fuzzy and I can't remember detail of previous trips - but I will enjoy living in the moment. A friend has terminal cancer, there was so much they wanted to do (same age as me)... and it has really brought home to me how things can change in a moment and how we must take everything life offers and not hesitate to step outside our comfort zone when opportunities present themselves. Love your beautiful bruised suede coat with the Audrey dress - I was in Audreys a few weeks back, they were excited to see I was modelling 'the kaftan'! I haven't seen so many bluebells this year in the woods, must be lovely to have them in the garden - the scent is beautiful. Playing Cards in Cairo looks interesting. Betty
ReplyDeleteHello Betty! My Mum liked to say have no regrets and always encouraged us to live in the here and now. Obsessing about things we could have done differently is such a pointless exercise. Jon's not great with remembering things either but an opportunity to wear shorts and feel the sun on his skin makes him a happy boy!
DeleteHow sad about your friend.
I bet the staff were thrilled to see you in your Audrey kaftan, I can't think of a better model. I'd not worn my Audrey dress with that suede coat before and loved how the colours blended.
Playing Cards was fascinating, it really makes you appreciate the freedom we have as women born in the West. xxx
A dor do amigo também dói na gente, não é? Um beijo. Estou te esperando no meu blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! xxx
DeleteThe phrase I loathe is "fixed income" usually uttered by pensioners. Do they not realize that most of the population is on a "fixed income". Some of the pensioners I know, make more than our youngest son who serving in the Navy. Never mind people who work at whatever they can find.
ReplyDeleteDeath in Paradise, only really enjoyed the first detective. Never enjoyed the others. Husband loves both shows that Jon does. I'm like is there anyone in Midsomer that hasn't been affected by crime?
Our pup had an awesome day of supervising (not) men who had to come to the house. The water meter man quivered when we said we had a do. All ten pounds of her and she only has 8 teeth. The Internet man didn't even know she was in the house until he left and she purred at him. Yes our dog purrs. No idea of how she does it, all we can thin of was her first human must have cats.
Enjoy your trip. I'm living in fear. Husband is taking me on a cruise for my birthday this year. A cruise.
I've not heard "Fixed Income" but having been self-employed for almost 20 years it sounds like an absolute luxury to me!
DeleteBen Miller - that's the only series of Death in Paradise I watched all the way through, it used to be screened when we'd got back from India so I think we watched it to get a fix of palm trees and sunshine. All those "cosy" dramas irritate the hell out of me, I'm not a fan of happy endings, the killer always caught and all those odds and ends neatly tied up, I'd rather have something a bit more gritty.
Pup sounds like quite the character. I've never heard a dog purr. I've noticed that if you want the Royal Mail to collect a parcel for you there's a box you can tick to warn the postie that there's a dog at the property.
Oh.My.God...a cruise! I'm sure you and your husband are a lot more respectful than the boatloads that spill out on the Greek Islands in their baseball hats, vests and knee length socks, elbowing everyone out of the way and blocking the alleyways with their selfie sticks! xxx
Oh, thanks so much for the surprise photos of Jacob! I loved seeing them and knowing that he is still doing well! How lucky that you have the old photo of him as well. Kind of wish you could tell him!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in all your outfits and I especially love pattern on the green and white sundress which looks terrific with your tan.
Love JanF
Your wish is my command, dear Jan!
DeleteThat green dress comes from an early 1970s vintage boutique label which I think must have specialised in quality cotton dresses for women who took exotic holidays, they're always very strappy and very bright, I love mine! xxx
You motivate me. No one knows the future. Our stupid health care system in the U.S. ties people to their job, or pay through the nose on your own. It's barbaric, which keeps too many people having to be employed too long. I'm aiming for a take off when the mood hits kind of life. Of course, being across the ocean, it'll be stateside, not Greece but maybe Greece eventually. Mama mia is ridiculous, but cocktail in hand, I can get in the mood for a good Abba soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteI watched Michael Moore's Sicko many years ago and was outraged by your healthcare system. Many (not me) complain about the NHS but at least it's available to all. I hope you do manage to take off when you retire and do some of that travelling you've always promised yourself.
DeleteRum and Cola and singing along to Mama Mia was a fabulous way to spend Friday night! xxx
I just love all your looks and the vibes they give and how cool is the broche and to have the photo too! Also love the photos you and your mom and brother. Just lovely, truly enjoyed this post!
ReplyDeleteAllie of
www.allienyc.com
Thanks so much, Allie! It's lovely to hear from you. xxx
DeleteHA, I had to laugh at your comment about Jon being able to watch Rosemary and Thyme on repeat. My partner has a "bit of a thing" for Felicity Kendall, he could watch a thousand re-runs of The Good Life.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it strange....all the weird and wonderful things you find. I love finding something and wondering how did it end up waiting for me to find it. I'll concoct some big elaborate story, usually involving spies, broken hearts and suitcases of cash.
I am sorry to hear of your friends passing, when people we know pass suddenly, it is shocking and certainly makes us think about what we value the most. I hope you toast your friend into a setting sun and think good thoughts.
I do love your family brooch, how sentimental!!! And I also love that pink Princess coat, I have recently found a teal one that I am wearing to death.
Megan.
Hello Megan. Your partner and Jon sound like they'd get along very well. Mind you, my friend Nikki is a fan of Rosemary & Thyme, too - so much so that she was watching a repeat the other day and loved the setting so much that she booked a trip there next week.
DeleteI'm forever making up stories in my head about how things ended up in charity shops. Occasionally I've bumped into the person who donated it either 'cos I'm carrying the item or wearing it, that always makes for an interesting chat.
It's such a shock for someone who is always there in the background to suddenly slip away like that. It's horrible for the family but I bet for most of us it's the way we'd like to go.
I bet that teal coat is gorgeous. I love that pink coat and if the weather continues to be this cold I'm very tempted to borrow it, it's just what's needed at the moment, Spring-like colour but Winter warmth. xxx
I do love your outfits, especially that first one with the pinks and purple together. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend though. it's so true that life is so short.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Mica! xxx
DeleteGood for you booking another trip , life is to be lived . As we know it can change in an instant. Sorry about the swimming acquaintance.
ReplyDeleteI knew your house was old but that is before Cook landed here .
As usual you look so good in your outfits.
Hope you are having some sunshine. I am in tropical Queensland at present and it is absolutely pouring down. Xx
Yes Jill, life can change in an instant and every moment needs to be savoured.
DeleteIt's mind boggling to think what's happened in the world since our house was built, everything from colonialism to the abolition of slavery, to both World Wars and the French Revolution.
I think we're sharing the Queensland weather, it's pouring down her and a very miserable 6C. Happy travels! xxx
It's about finding what you truly love doing and making sure that you do it. With blogging it's made me more aware of what that looks like for.me and inspired me to explore and adventure more. Arilx
ReplyDeleteYes, blogging is such a great way to learn about yourself. I can scroll back at photos and remember exactly how I felt when I was taking the pictures. I love how - like me - you find interesting things wherever you go, a sure sign you're living in the moment. xxx
DeleteWhen I emerged from a recent spell of unwellness, sadly singed around the edges, I realized I could no longer ride horseback or go rough hiking -- and rejoiced I'd spent time and money enjoying those activities when I could. You've offered good stewardship to the future by caring for the house and the solar-powered tortoise, now carpe diem!
ReplyDeleteI confess to sharing Jon's enthusiasm for all those twee mysteries. Not for the storylines, y'understand, but for the glimpses of real interiors and set locations. And continuity goofs! I adore spotting magically moving props and "dead cat" mics intruding into the shot!
I'm sad at the thought of you being a little singed around the edges, Betth but admire how you'd spent time doing the things you loved and are able to recall them with warmth and joy.
DeleteYou've reminded me, Jon & I have recently written our wills (as an unmarried couple our relationship isn't recognised by UK law and unless we make one another benefactors in our wills everything is passed on to our relatives no matter how distant) and I've forgotten to make provision for Jacob. I must make a phone call!
Jon gives a similar reason for his twee Tv show obsession. xxx
I'm sorry to hear about your swimming acquaintance. Things like that are true wake-up calls. Good on you for booking another trip! We've just come back from our Bruges break and enjoyed every minute.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfits, as per usual, my favourite being the embroidered Monsoon dress (what a stunner that is) worn with the Levi's shirt and your great-great grandma's brooch!
Sex, Drugs and Shoulder Pads made me laugh too. Lovely to see Jacob and your glamorous assistant. Jos and I are with Jon, though: we do love the often absurd Midsomer Murders :-) xxx
Thanks, Ann! Yes, incidents like that are a real wake-up call, not that I need much encouragement to book holidays, I think I should have been a travel agent rather than a chef!
DeleteI'm dying to hear about your Bruges trip on your blog, I loved all the photos I've seen so far, it certainly looked like the weather was a bit kinder than previous visits.
That Monsoon dress is such a pretty thing, I don't really know why I don't wear it more often - too many clothes!!
Jon's been watching Midsomer between tasks this weekend! xxx
sorry to hear about your swimming pal, I totally understand that it changed your mind and great that you booked a trip!. Great attitude, dear Vix, and I agree with you (also agree about that 'making memories' idiotic expression).
ReplyDeleteLooking lovely in those dusty pink and plum colours, same for that vibrant blue in your second outfit, and particularly fab in that denim shirt and embroidered dress (lovely bold colour indeed). No wonder you received so many compliments, you rock it!.
I'm fascinated by that straw briefcase and have to confess that I'm also a huge fan of Death In Paradise and Midsommer (any twee crime show, actually!), totally a guilty pleasure!. Looking forward to watching Beyond Paradise season 2!! ;DD
besos
Thanks, Monica! It was just the incentive I needed to get another trip booked. Life's for living and definitely not for "making memories" (bleurgh!!!)
DeleteIt's a very tricky time of year to get dressed, it's all about the layers as we're getting four seasons in a day - you never know if that frosty start is going to turn into a coatless day within a few hours (it feels like big coat weather today, sadly!)
I'm amazed by the straw briefcase, it seems such a practical idea for someone who works in a tropical climate. I often used to feel for the barristers in their black brogues and leather briefcases leaving the law courts for their lunch in the sweltering temperatures of downtown Mumbai. I've lost track of what series Death in Paradise has reached now, it seems to have been running most of my life! xxx
Look at you! I know what you mean about the traveling. I feel the same way. We don't know how much time we have in life. Jacob is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephenie Time flies and life passes by so quickly, its so important to fill it with things that bring us joy. xxx
DeleteHey Vix, have a lovely time on your holiday. Was scrolling through the interwebs and saw this, and thought you might be interested, it's all about the topic of indian block printed bedspreads started being made into dresses in the UK, with some great photos.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.c20vintagefashion.co.uk/post/full-of-eastern-promise-part-1-afghans-kaftans-and-the-hippie-trail
Hello Diane! Oh my word, that link is absolutely glorious. How incredible those clothes are and my love for Joanna Lumley has just increased tenfold! xxx
DeleteGood morning Vix!We are sorry for the man who left so suddenly, it is so likely to happen to all of us, another proof that we must live in the moment! I loved your brown boots, but the green dress with the denim shirt with the puffy sleeves blew me away. Have a beautiful Sunday Vix🌷.
ReplyDeleteThanks for those kind words, Katerina. Living for the moment instead of making endless plans and wishlists is the way to live. xxx
DeleteI don't blame you one little bit for seizing the day and booking another holiday, we have to enjoy ourselves while we have the chance. And as for making memories ... as soon as we come back from somewhere Alan has forgotten all about it. I spend half of my time trying to trigger the right memories for him and my Mum. I feel like a well used filing system at times.
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen Mamma Mia and the follow up at least three times each, it's a good one to relax into isn't it. And yes I do like Death in Paradise and Midsomer Murders, just as relaxing in their own way. But I'm currently into gore and bodies, and binge watching Silent Witness from the beginning.
Oh Sue, that used filing system comment resonated with me both from r=the deterioration of my Grandma and Dad and Jon's atrocious short term memory (blame the rock star past). I've started making him Pinterest boards of his holidays so he can remember things more clearly.
DeleteMamma Mia and the even more ridiculous follow-up are such a joy to watch. I selected the Sing-a-long option on the DVDs and joined in whilst Jon rolled his eyes in despair (it's my revenge for Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, Rosemary & Thyme and bloody Lovejoy!)
I rewatched the whole of Silent Witness during lockdown - along with Spooks, my all-time favourite - violence, gore and terror! xxx
Sorry to hear about the swimming lady. We've had a couple of people at church die unexpectedly like that recently which is super sad.
ReplyDeleteOur holiday to Girona ended up being v expensive last minute but since we've been a bit miserable at work and obvs things medical appointments making you aware that you are lucky to be here, we just went anyway. Feel a bit guilty about the plane journey but as long as I only take one, it is ok for me. (Just a personal thing)
I love that Monsoon dress- it really is a joy! I'd definitely hunt that down second hand!
The garden looks great.
I LOVE Death in Paradise now! It's the feel good, sunny thing (plus a good murder!)that works for me!
Kxx
Hello K! Isn't it shock when people just vanish from your lives like that?
DeleteFlights have got very expensive this year but you've just got to grab the opportunity when you can. You and CBC have tremendously stressful jobs (and commutes) and what with your health scare you needed a break.
Keep your eyes peeled for that Monsoon dress , I think it was called "Lorraine", there were a couple of Vinted last time I looked!
That's what Jon says about Death in Paradise, it's feel good and sunny! xxx
I'm a bit behind, sorry!
ReplyDeleteLoving all of your outfits. The Monsoon dress and Pink Lemons top are gorgeous!
Now that's what I call a well travelled bag. What a fascinating find that Court of Appeal woven basket/bag was!
Funnily enough, I've recently bought Johnny Marr's autobiography for a fiver (Vinted). Should be a good read.
I love this time of year for the flowers and wild garlic. I just wish the weather would warm up a bit! xxx
You and me both, claire1 I'm having a frantic catch-up before I dash out again! I haven't started JM's book yet, we'll have to compare notes when we've finished.
DeleteIsn't it cold? I've been labouring outside today and I'm dithering! xxx
I'm so sorry to hear about your swimming friend. We lost a friend to cancer during the pandemic, and I feel so sad when I think of him, but it's made me even more determined to live life to the full, especially with my own brush with the Grim Reaper. It's Carpe Diem for me!
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love Corfu, and I can't wait to read your blog. I'm really very fond of Mamma Mia. The scenery always cheers me up. Xxx
Hello Annie, life can be fragile, it can't be wasted, we have to grb every bit of fun we can! Mamma Mia is a joy to watch, it put me in such a good mood! xxx
DeleteI'm very sorry to hear that your swimming friend has passed away. It can be such a shock. My sister-in-law mother died so suddenly last year, I'm still in shock. She was such a beautiful soul, too. My sister-in-law decided to travel more after her death. She says she regrets not making her mother travel more! So, good for you for booking those tickets.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your sister-in-law, Ivana. It's such a shock when someone just vanishes from your life like that. xxx
DeleteMidsummer murders and Death in Paradise? Give his head a wobble!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry at the loss of a Pal. I think Dear Jacob will outlive us all. Your Garden always looks magical and I Love your Historic Home... in any condition it's lovely.
ReplyDelete
