On Tuesday morning I threw a load of washing into the machine and hung it up in the utility room before my Wii Fit session. Following my workout, I wrapped my eBay parcels and joined Jon in the kitchen for breakfast. I got dressed, caught up with blog reading and left the house at 9.40am. I'd got a hairdressing appointment at 10 which would allow for a leisurely stroll into town, just over a mile away.
This was to be my sixth visit to the hairdresser since 2010 as I'd decided before lockdown that 2020 was the year I'd finally invest in my hair. I've always hated having my hair cut but Keri, my stylist, is fantastic and somehow manages to make my hair look longer despite loosing a couple of inches.
Last time I'd been to the hairdressers I was chased through the town by a couple of ne'er do wells. On this occasion it wasn't until I was a street away from home when a middle-aged man in a car drove past, did a U-turn and proceeded to kerb crawl alongside the pavement with the window rolled down. Fortunately a lady came out of her house for a walk so I stayed as near to her as I could whilst social distancing until the perv got fed up and drove off. For crying out loud, I'm almost 54 years of age and I'm still being harassed by men. My first experience was when I was 11 & on my way to school when a man tried to drag me away and it's carried on for the best part of forty-feckin' three years. When will it ever end?
Anyway, sod the perverts. Once home Jon made me a bowl of noodles and talked me through what he'd been doing while I was out, namely replacing Gilbert's defective electronic ignition system, doing the post office run & supervising the skip being collected. After lunch Liz popped round and we had a fabulous afternoon firstly catching up in the shelter over tea and then moving to the Kinky Shed where she had a massive trying on session and found a few choice vintage pieces for her Winter wardrobe. I also gave her first dibs on my charity shop donation pile where she was able to salvage some garments to cut up and remake into the bags she makes and sells.
Tea was a paneer and mixed veg bhuna with rice and a couple of Indian snacks. Later we had a mega Spooks night watching three episodes back-to-back.
Wednesday's Outfit: Vintage Indian Banjara skirt (Boostique, my friend Katy's shop), Recycled sari silk top (All About Audrey, Brighton), Doc Marten Darcie boots (eBay) |
I was up at 6am on Wednesday. After putting away the previous day's laundry I did my Wii Fit workout, wrapped the latest ebay sales and had fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Once dressed Jon suggested a trip to B&M Bargains and B&Q, shops we'd not set foot in since before lockdown, as he wanted to see if there were any offers on for seasoned logs for the wood-burner. Happily, there was.
Even better was that all the bedding plants in B&Q had been reduced to half price. I went mad and spent £34!
When it finally stops raining I'll remove my geraniums from the window boxes & over-winter them in the greenhouse, replacing them with cyclamens, trailing variegated ivy and Goldcrest for added height.
I loved these purple ornamental cabbages, a favourite of my Grandma.
Of course I couldn't resist a reduced to clear houseplant! This Crassula (which we Brits call a Money Tree/Jade Plant) had outgrown its pot, which I soon rectified once we got home (the £2 I paid is included in my £34 splurge).
By the time we'd swung by the post office to drop off the parcels and unloaded the van it was time for noodles. With Storm Barbara and her endless rain showing no signs of abating there was no chance of planting up window boxes or photographing stock so instead I had a lazy afternoon catching up with blog comments, interrupted by an exciting delivery from the postman.
As I'm sure you've already noticed, I've got a bit of a thing about clogs, namely those by Lotta of Stockholm. As they occasionally have flash sales I've signed up for email updates, the most recent of which had a photo of the most gorgeous "Sanita" clog boots priced at £125, which keep haunting me. Imagine my joy when a pair in my size popped up on eBay and even more so when the seller accepted my very cheeky offer. I love them!
Tea was mustard mash, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire puds and veggie sausages.
It's Wednesday which means rum & cola to accompany Spooks and Ambulance, although we can't go mad, we've got a National Trust adventure in the morning.
Cheers, stay safe & see you soon!
Your hair looks lovely, Vix. I really must let my hairdresser friend loose on mine (she's desperate to :)) It's been so long since I last had it cut that it's getting out of hand now.
ReplyDeleteHow horrible and worrying for you to deal with yet another pervert. What is it with some people, to think this is in anyway appropriate. It makes me so angry, especially as a mother of girls.
The plants are gorgeous. I need to invest in some winter colour, so I think I'll have a browse in B&Q myself (I need some logs as well). They usually have some great bedding plants for a reasonable price. X
Thanks, Jules! You should let your hairdresser friend loose on your hair, I bet she'd do a brilliant job as she knows you and your lifestyle already.
DeleteI hate that in the 21st Century women still can't go about their daily business without attracting the attention of predatory males.
Good luck in B&Q! xxx
The catcalls never end. It is truly awful. I really hope we're not putting up with this crap in our 90s, but we probably will.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the plants! I love ivy, but I don't dare plant it for fear of taking over the rest of the row houses. I'll just enjoy watching yours.
I swear they are getting worse now you can't go to a pub and socialise any more, the pervs are trawling the streets hunting down females instead. Covid has a lot to answer for.
DeleteI love ivy, Jon worries about it taking root in the brickwork. xxx
Your hair really is lovely. SOmetime I might tak eout my hot rollers and use-I get som enice waves as well-but need to color the darn roots first. I set my daughters hair for her grad pictures and she was gorgeous. The bhuna looks terrific-yum. What creeps-I'm glad you were able to have him go before you got close and saw where you live.
ReplyDeleteI wish I hadn't donated my rollers to the charity shop! I'm keeping my eye on a Babyliss Pro styler currently on ebay, the same model as my hairdresser uses, she makes it look really easy but I bet it isn't! xxx
DeleteI need to swap out my bedding plants now. If I leave it much longer it will be too late. I blimmin hate creepy pervs. How dare they make us feel intimidated.
ReplyDeleteI loathe them, how would they feel if their mothers or sisters were treated like that? Vile creatures.
DeleteIt's a tricky time of year for gardening, every time I make time to sort the borders out it rains! x
Lordy day, Vix... you can't even walk down your city streets without being harrassed? That's scary as hell, girl. Do you have pistol permits in the country you live? If so, I'd invest in one. I know it's not the hippie-peace-loving thing to do but hey... it's better than getting kidnapped. Stay safe, my dear. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteGuns are illegal here, even our police don't carry them. Mind you I dread to think what would happen if they were allowed, I'd try and frighten a pervert off and they'd end up blasting my head off for daring to affront his masculinity. xxx
DeleteI only wear Dansko a kind of clog shoe, as I have arthritis in my feet and I do love a pair of new clogs. I can also go crazy at 1/2 price plant sales.
ReplyDeleteI found a pair of Dansko clogs in a charity shop here but sadly they were three sizes too big! x
DeleteYour outfits are all about the SLEEVES this round, Vix! I adore that velvet jacket in the first outfit. Your hair looks amazing! I hear you about the waves falling out (story of my hair!), but I have learned that regular cuts/trims really do help the life of your locks. I can't believe the treatment you've received out in public, with hooligans and pervs! That is so rare here - I've only been harassed once, and I darted a verbal zinger back and the young guys stepped back (this was years ago). I mostly try to look a bit "off" if I'm out by myself or after dark, so that anyone might think I would be more of a bother. I found this article about cat-calling and other forms of harassment of women to be very interesting and made L read it: https://theattic.jezebel.com/how-the-girl-watching-fad-of-the-1960s-taught-men-to-ha-1844916738
ReplyDeleteWell done on the plants (we call those jade plants here in Canada too; money trees are different entirely: https://www.epicgardening.com/silver-dollar-plant/ - the seed pods/leaves dry silvery and are lovely for ornamentation (I recall them in a few urns in the house I grew up in).
Great catch on the Lotta boots! Those are adorable. I'm always looking for these now in the thrifts! I want my own pair of Lotta of Stockholm, now I see you wearing them!
Have fun with the rum tonight! Ha ha! Snuggles to the boys for me - Vizzini recommends a hot water bottle if it's cold out (he's just discovered mine and I think I am going to have to buy a new one!).
Thanks, Sheila! I do love a good sleeve. It was such a shame about the waves dropping out of my hair. Why is it that good waves don't last but the weird kinks you wake up with when you go to bed with damp hair will not go away?
DeleteThat article was absolutely fascinating and the comments were brilliant, too. Thanks for the link. That song "Music To Watch Girls By" always gave me the creeps!
How funny, your silver dollar tree is called "honesty" here, it used to grow in abundance in our garden in my Grandma's day but it seems to have vanished.
I'm hoping you find yourself some Lotta's - with your shopping luck I'm sure it won't be long until you do.
I haven't used my hot water bottle yet this season but i shall let the boys have a sniff when I do! xxx
Those plants are called Jade plants in California where I grew up, too. Some of them grow to be massive. Plants from the half dead area are a really good deal. Mine usually grow crazy.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a huge jade plant, they must take years to get that big! xxx
DeleteLove the gardening bounty. Very special. And the look of your delicious meals.... I haven't had the courage to shop online yet but do love seeing what others have bought. Love the clog collection, too.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy online shopping, you just have to take your time, read the description really carefully, look at the photos and ask lots of questions. Ebay is really safe, there's lots of protection in place for both buyers and sellers and it sure beats having to deal with real-life shoppers who still don't get the concept of social distancing! xxx
Deletewalsall men are in for some valkyrie treatment.....
ReplyDeleteyour stylist does a gorgeous job - not much can handle long hair that good. love the outfit with the embroidered skirt and cool blouse. and liz´boots! how lovely to have her over and a good rummage in the stock.
so many plants! your garden will look fabulous even in winter!
xxxxx
Some of our locals are a disgrace, they certainly do need some sorting out.
DeleteI'd forgotten about that embroidered skirt, I think one of your outfits brought it to mind.
Liz's boots were an old Kinky Melon buy, she's so lucky having tiny feet! xxx
I thought stalking was what only Pervy Japanese men did! And yes it’s happened a few times! Always when I’m at bloody work so I can go the back and hide until they have gone! Your hair is awesome I just have no patience whatsoever! Chin that’s it.
ReplyDeleteThose plants what a bargain! You will fun planting those! I have tried wearing clogs but boy do they hurt my feet. I used to wear them nurse training and I was crippled by the end of the day!! I’ll just stick to my docs!
Hi Allie! Harassing women is pretty much universal I think, although Sheila says it's not common in Canada, making Canada sound even more appealing than it does already!
DeleteI'm hopeless with hair, I can't even manage a hair dryer!
I had a wonderful time getting muddy in the garden, you can't beat it.
A lot of the chefs I was at college with wore clogs, I lived in my Docs as they were cheaper! xxx
How shocking that you were harassed again. Who needs Halloween when there are real life ghouls? I was distressed to read about your experience as an eleven year old. Says so much for your character that you are so grounded after such a horrific near-miss, Vix. Think I'd still be having nightmares after that. Lucky to come home to a loving partner and a good friend.
ReplyDeleteI know, it's vile, isn't it? Bloody scumbags. You're right though, I'm angry but it certainly doesn't stop me doing whatever I want, we can't allow this tiny minority of feral men to make us live in fear.xxx
DeleteDuring lockdown not having my hair done was the thing I missed most. It was amazing the first time Angela did it when she as allowed to start up again. I looked in the mirror and thought “oh I’m back”.
ReplyDeleteYou’ll have to take your bodyguard out with you to fend off the creeps. One sneer from Jon and they’d soon scuttle of down the road.
We need to get you a photoshoot in a magazine Vix, you’re looking amazing xxx
Aww, thanks, Lynn!
DeleteYour hair always looks immaculate, I remember you being so excited when you were able to see Angela again.
Isn't it ridiculous to think you can't walk down the street without unwanted male attention? Almost makes me wish for another lockdown! xxx
Nice hair, m'lady. I just gave my neighbour a 'spare' money plant exactly like your new one. My Mum takes cuttings of them in abundance but I'm short on space for keeping plants healthy so give away what I can't fit in. I think it's appalling that that dirty scumbag trailed you like that. It's a poor show when you can't even have a healthy jaunt to and from the hairdressers without worrying about being kidnapped! I love the velvet jacket with the batwing sleeves. That's my fave outfit on you so far. Keep on keeping safe. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, darling! Your mum must be very green fingered, I'm useless with cuttings, they never take. Very kind to pass your plants on, too. I can never have enough houseplants even if I hardly have any sills to keep them on.
DeleteI'm starting to wonder if Covid restrictions are making some men worse than ever, not being able to harass women in pubs they've taken to the streets instead. xxx
Your haircut looks great. What appalling behaviour to kerb crawl you, it's scary isn't it. I bet you were relieved to get home.
ReplyDeleteThe velvet jacket is gorgeous, I also like your Banjara skirt, the blue looks vibrant.
Those Lotta boots look so you, I love them, you have quite a collection of clogs!
The window boxes are going to look very smart with all those cyclamen, I could never manage to grow them, then chanced on a place they love in the garden and they have lived happily there ever since.
Your new garden venue is looking good!xxx
Thanks, Sally! I was thinking three trips to the hairdresser in a year was a little excessive but I think I'll try and keep it up, it's lovely not to have raggedy ends.
DeleteI can't stop buying clogs, there's some amazing bargains on ebay at the moment, its hard to resist. xxx
Good morning Vix! well I agree with everyone your hair is looking great! I had a few near misses when I was a youngster in Aus too. Funny it hasn't affected me either (lots of other stuff has instead lol) Enough of that the garden has now had its winter tidy and at least the weeds don't grow as fast now. Your haul is amazing and the window boxes will be very pretty. LOVE the pic of Liz and Jon in the outdoor entertainment area. You have made it look cozy like an outdoor room. That must have been so fun for her rifling through for winter attire. Now those boots are gorgeous you are going to rock those! Thanks for a great post. I am being really naughty but I am not having a certain someone visit today as I have not got the energy to deal with the negative talk (sometimes you have to put yourself first - which I find hard) Have a great day Shazxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shaz! I do love the feeling of having posh hair, a real treat!
DeleteI'm glad years of harassment hasn't unduly affected you either, it makes me more angry than anything else, it certainly would never stop me going out alone or changing the way I dress.
I'm so grateful for the outdoor shelter, it's lovely to be able to have friends round without breaking the rules and being able to stay warm and dry is a big plus.
You haven't been naughty, you've put yourself and your own needs first, that's something most of need to do more! Take care! xxx
Lovely hairstyle and totally agree that these are the best sleeves ever!, love your velvet jacket!). Looking really fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAlways annoying to hear of any woman being harassed or catcalled in the streets, it looks like this shit is never going to stop!. Even worse that still young girls, children actually, have to deal with this!. But it makes me feel Angry that somebody has been so creepy with you and made you feel in danger. Fuckin'Bastard!
Anyway, I'm glad to see you enjoying your new shelter with friends. And also loving your new plants, love those ciclamen flowers and the purple cabbages, lots of Color!.
And love to see your clogs collection, rocking all these colors!
besos
Thanks, Monica! I feel a bit like I've got superpowers with my huge sleeves, it would be good if they'd give me the gift of flight and I could escape feral men in the streets!
DeleteI hate that this shit still goes on. Women will never be truly equal until we can walk the streets without being harassed or commented upon.
Clogs and cabbages, two things that make me very happy! xxx
Isn't it lovely to have a hair stylist who understands you? I always hated going to the hairdresser before I went to my current one. I've been going to him for almost as long as I'm married to Jos, which is 25 years! For some reason, it usually rains on the day of my appointment, which rather spoils the result! Oh no, how horrible that you were harassed. Things like that can be really scary, can't they. I hope catching up with Liz made up for the experience. Obviously, I'm loving both of your outfits, especially that 1970s jacket and the recycled sari top. The sleeves on both are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI love those Autumnal bedding plants, especially the ornamental cabbages. I might look out for some next time we're in the garden centre. Fingers crossed we are not locked down again, as I simply couldn't bear it. xxx
Twenty-five years?! That's amazing. Your hair always looks fabulous so you've definitely found the right hairdresser, I know you love your salon visits, too.
DeleteIncidents like that are scary, you never know how things may end, do you? I was so relieved that the lady left her house at exactly the right moment and that i had a lovely afternoon of chat and laughter.
I'm hoping Belgium's latest measures do the trick. Mindful of a semi-lockdown and non-essential shopping being stopped I'm making sure I'm okay for my kind of essentials - lipstick, mascara and rum! xxx
Sorry to hear about the perv. The good news is as you get older male attention lessens; especially if you have grey hair. I've noticed this and welcomed it since I stopped dyeing it. Best thing is to tell them to f**k off.
ReplyDeleteLoved your outfits and the new boots are gorgeous - it pays to be cheeky! I also love your clog collection. I found mine to be very comfortable and wore the Seasalt ones quite a lot this summer.
Well done on the reduced plants; you've got some great ones. I love cyclamen; it's so long lasting... I have two Jade/Money plants - one a freebie on a walk - but they grow very slowly for me. The Chinese takeaway around the corner from me has some magnificent ones in their window almost like small trees. I want mine to grow like that!
I can't believe you're still watching Spooks - how many episodes are there?
Take care and stay fabulous - the hair is looking gorgeous!
xxx
I think I might have to invest in a grey wig!
DeleteClogs are so comfy, aren't they? These boots are so warm and cosy, I'm thrilled to bits with them. I can understand why they are so expensive new.
Cyclamen is so pretty, isn't it? I restrained myself by sticking to just two colours, most out of character. That's where I remember seeing Jade plants, in the windows of takeaways back in the 1980s. I'm not great with succulents and hope the poor thing is okay, I've popped it in a sunny spot and haven't lost any leaves yet.
I think Spooks ran for ten years and we're now on season four. I keep checking to see if there's anything new on Walter Presents but nothing's caught my attention yet. xxx
I love your shelter-its looks a lovely haven to relax in.If that dirty perve ever sees Jon wearing his mask with you Vix he won't be so brave x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Flis! We're still waiting for the lads to sit in it, it takes them ages to get used to anything new.
DeleteI bet that scumbag bloke would soon drive off if he saw me with a man, they're like internet trolls, a waste of skin! xxx
Hello Vix, great locks! I’ve never had a good mop and can’t seem to grow it far past my shoulders. (That scutter curb crawler wants his dirty f*****g bits chopping off- I went through a phase of getting harassed every night on the way back from work in my twenties – I got quite practiced with dealing with it, but fear I wouldn’t have the sass now, and the shock would certainly throw me). I just love those kitsch purple ornamental cabbages and I am seeing them in an entirely new light. Those colourful clogs are awesome too! Lulu xXx
ReplyDeleteHello, Lulu! These predatory men make my blood boil. Like you I used to be brilliant at telling them to f*ck off back in the day, I think we're all a bit braver when we're younger, now I worry about knives or running off and breaking a hip!
DeleteI couldn't resist those kitsch cabbages, I think you need some in your life! xxx
Your waves look so sleek, Vix. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly did that guy think he was going to do, following you with the window down? Very creepy.
I always love looking at your clog collection. All the colours, all the different styles! If I were Liz, I would've had a field day going through your stock. That would've been so much fun!! X
Thanks, Jess! I'm so happy that I've found Keri, she's such a good stylist and she's so funny, too - I always end up crying with laughter.
DeleteThere's some really vile people about, I think some men have become more feral since the increased restrictions as they can't hit on women in bars any more. xxx
Beautiful. I am so sorry that you have to deal with nasty old creeps. Am I correct in remembering you own a cane for when your hip acts up? Might be worth carrying as a nut cracking weapon, just saying :) Or maybe get a retractable one for your purse - or a taser (are those legal there?). Love ornamental cabbages although I've never grown one.
ReplyDeleteHello, darling! I love the cane idea, I do have a retractable walking stick!
DeleteTasers are illegal here, I'd probably end up in prison if I used one.
Aren't those cabbages wonderful? I'm hoping it'll be safe from the evil slugs! xxx
Great blog. Am classed as front line worker, l am looking to purchase masks for myself that are made from recycle material. Do you have any masks for sale/ or could you make to order ?
ReplyDeleteHello Jean, thanks for reading and for being a key worker. Bear with me, I'll have a look through my fabric stash and see if I have anything suitable, if not my friend Liz might be able to make you some, I'll let you know in a couple of days. xxx
DeleteYour hair is worth investing in, it looks fabulous, salon products can't be matched for conditioning results. Your clog boots look comfy. Your garden centre shop was worth the trip :) I can't have those cabbages, they are so pretty but mine get devoured by slugs that come in herds from the woods! I have even found them attacked in hanging baskets! I don't doubt you are more than capable of batting off unwanted advances - I seem to have always attracted loonies and wierdos - I think I give too much eye contact, it does mean conversations with interesting/unusual people sometimes but it has got me into trouble over the years.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Betty! Hairdressers certainly have to knack, don't they? Keri blow dries my hair so it's as smooth as silk, if I try I end up looking like I've been in a wind tunnel!
DeleteWhat a shame about the slugs. I've put my brassicas in a pot and coated the edges with Vaseline to keep the slimy sods off. Fingers crossed!
Jon says the same about me, I don't realise I'm staring at people and invariably, in the olden days, used to end up with strange people joining us in the pub, as they all thought I wanted to make friends!
Hope that cat is settling in well! xxx
I've never really had a problem with cat calls apart from very occasionally. Probably not attractive enough and my punk clothes and hair probably made me look too scary to tackle when I was young and sylph like.
ReplyDeleteI've spent my life hardly wearing make up or worrying about what my hair looks like as long as I look professional whilst at work and am clean.
That said my hubby says I probably wouldn't notice or think people were whistling at or calling out to me.
I don't understand and never have why people think it's ok to make others feel threatened or uncomfortable whilst going about their business.
Your hair looks lovely btw. I had mine booked for this week then have had to self-isolate due to a colleague. Hey ho, it's our new reality!
Hello VC! I'm VCB in real life.
DeleteThanks for your kind comments.
I'm sorry to hear about the self-isolation and having to miss the hair appointment, I'm learning to love a bit of pampering after years of resisting it.
I'm not sure whether being harassed and assaulted by men has much to do with how we look, I certainly wasn't alluring as a 11 year old with a bowl haircut, dental braces and a limp and the day I was sexually assaulted on the way to work my hair was hidden under a hat, I was wearing an oversized bloke's coat and twelve hole Doc Martens. Some men are just scumbags, its as simple as that! xxx
You are probably right! I've just never considered myself much of a looker so put it down to that.
DeleteWhat an awful thing to happen to you Vix!
As I say it may be that, as my husband says I would assume they were whistling at or shouting to someone else.
Eyes gleaming green with envy here. I'm admiring the effect of your hair color on that gorgeous brown jacket with sleeves like wings. I'm thinking how nice it would be to see those ornamental kales bordering my patio edge, backed by the evergreen hedge. And I'm wishing that cozy shelter -- complete with heater -- was a feature in my neighbor's garden, so I could pop over for cocoa and conversation. But I don't envy you those "firebreak" lockdowns!
ReplyDeleteThe hairdresser loved the colour of my hair against that jacket, I should have asked her to email me a copy of the photo she took before all the curls dropped out.
DeleteThose brassicas are just gorgeous, aren't they? They'd look wonderful with an evergreen backdrop.
It's all so confusing here, areas with far higher rates are in lower tiers with less restrictions than we are, I have to keep checking the rules to make sure I'm not breaking any! xxx
How I love the velvet jacket with the gorgeous sleeves and your colourful clog collection, as for you hair, wow
ReplyDeleteI was telling my Partner about you problem with the kerb crawler, well there’s no other word for the low life, cheeky swine. He’s very old school and angry about what happened to you, said if anything like that ever happens again God forbid, get your phone out and take a pic of the reg number then dial 999 he said for something like that the police would be there like a shot, all easier said than done I know. Nothing for me in the local charity shop today but did have my eye on a Mother in laws tongue plant in Asda! Keep Calm and Well, Brummie Sue Xx.
Thanks, Sue! I was working at a fair at the Custard Factory a few years ago and a friend popped in to say hello & showed me what she'd bought from another trader, it was that jacket and I was green with envy, I was so happy when she had a clear out a few months later and offered it to me for the price she'd paid for it, I love it!
DeleteJon despairs of me not having a mobile phone, he said the same as your not-husband, I could have taken a photo and reported the scumbag. I was attacked in my twenties and the police were absolutely brilliant, they caught him within hours and couldn't have been kinder or taken me more seriously.
I love a Mother In Law's tongue, they're indestructible, Go on bab, treat yerself! xxx
Ah, there's my favourite velvet jacket with the delicious sleeves! I've been trying to manage my own hair since March with a pair of clippers and it was great in the beginning but now I have long piece of hair in the front that won't do anything, and I realize I may have to seek professional assistance.
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to suffer the obnoxious behaviour of the creepy guy. I know that Sarah in Australia has had a few upsetting encounters this past year, and made sure to post a video so that everyone knew what an asshole the guy was.
Look at all the lovely greenery you snagged at the end of season! I trimmed back all the plants in my little front bed earlier this month and our leaves have all turned colour and are falling off the trees so there's not much "green" here.
Autumn has it's advantages in that i get to wear the jacket again!
DeleteYou've done so well with your hair but I've realised there's a reason why hairdressers exist, they've got skills us mere mortals can only dream of replicating.
I think men have gone more feral since Covid! xxx
I had to stop to admire that brown vintage seventies jacket with bell sleeves. I've never seen a similar one, it's quite unique. One sees all kind of blouses with bell and flare sleeves, but one doesn't happen upon a jacket with such fab sleeves often, does one? I love how you styled it with that printed maxi dress. Great look altogether. Your hair looks great after the visit to the hair stylist. Even with the wind, the subtle waves are visible. You have a great hair stylist. It is also responsible of this hair saloon to check temperature, not everyone does it. I check my temperature all the time now, I work in school so we have to be responsible, checking it before and after and sometimes during work.
ReplyDeleteThe vintage Indian skirt and the flared top are a fabulous pairing as well. I love the combo of blue and brown.
I'm utterly shocked that you had that treatment from the car perves. It's bloody ridiculous! I've never really ever attracted attention when out walking but I was stalked by a teenage weirdo who groped me in Poundstretcher when I was about 11- it was horrid.
ReplyDeleteYour new boots are fabulous! I've only been accepted once or twice on really cheeky offers- lovely when it happens!
Your hair looks lovely! When ever used to go to the hairdresser it would always rain, no matter what time of year, how annoying is that!
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder how these pervs would react if it was their Mum, sister, daughter being harassed?
What a plant haul! I went a bit mad recently and completely filled the boot with plants and shrubs using vouchers I’d been given for birthdays and Christmas - how easy it is to spend £90 on green things!
Lovely boots. I had no idea there was such a thing as clog boots.
xx
Oh, how horrible to be followed by that pervy bloke. I hope you're feeling okay now. I don't often get hassled, but it's always really unsettling when it does happen.
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent haul of gardening supplies. We all need some green goodness in our lives!
Sorry I have been AWOL, but finally managing to have a big catch-up session. I wasn't going to comment on your older posts but your experience on the Tuesday has left me so very angry.
ReplyDeleteFurious that anyone has to put up with such atrocious behaviour in this day and age. Do you carry a mobile phone? I'm afraid I would have dialed 999 and kept walking whilst the pervert followed . . . and made sure I had spoken his registration number and description to the emergency operator (all calls are recorded). Bastards like that deserve to be stopped. S'cuse language 🤬
Like Vronni I am now too grey and too shabby to get that sort of attention but heaven help anyone who ever tries it on, according to my Spousal Unit I have a rather "short fuse".
