Still Ill

How fabulous, the arrival of the postman with parcels of joy to rouse me from my sick bed.

The lovely Terri, despite struggling with a broken wrist, sent me this beautiful red velvet frock. It's so bright you'd hardly notice my deathly pallor.

Also in the parcel was this dreamy silver and lilac high-waisted maxi skirt.

A groovy retro print skirt (for which I've already got plans) and a ultra-glam Butterick dressmaking pattern.

And this 1970s-does-Edwardian maxi dress.

What are the chances of not only getting two parcels from bloggers in one day but also receiving the pattern from which the dress above must have been originally made? (It's the 1970 Simplicity pattern on the top left-hand side.)

I can't wait to get cracking on this lot of 1960s & 1970s patterns from the wonderful Tamera! Hot pants, flares and maxis, she knows me so well.

Check out those pants!

Tamera is a queen of card making. This beauty features a vintage postcard set on a patchwork of hand-blocked Indian papers inspired by my curtains.

My blogging buddies rock.

Yes, it's official, I've got mild pneumonia. Rock and roll, huh ?

Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon but in the meantime at least I'm a well-dressed invalid.

See you soon.

  26. Following on from your comment you made to me, about how putting on a pretty frock makes you feel better, then I bet that beautiful red velvet number makes you feel amazing, you look incredible in red and you can't even tell that you have pneumonia.

Rest up and keep on them drugs, it is an awful awful thing to have. My brother had it when he was in his teens and was very ill indeed.

Make sure Jon waits on you hand and foot xxx

Nevertheless you look gorgeous in your smashing red velvet gown! What a treat to receive such wonderful gifts from Terri and Tamera, especially during your convalescence.

Get plenty of rest so you can be up to your old tricks, my dear Vix.

  82. Sorry to hear that you are not well, although I do take offence that you do NOT look ill. This is coming from someone who people take pity on and say, "are you not feeling so good?" just because I am wearing black. I tell you, it's not fair!

Please take care of yourself and rest up. You need to boost your immune system, methinks. And burning the candle at both ends is NOT the way to do it! (Here endth the sermon.)

    Cheers and much love,
