It's Friday and there's not a frock in sight. This time last year I was preparing to catch a plane to Goa. This year I travelled five miles down the road on the bus bound for West Bromwich, hardly glamorous, although the driver did tell me that my beautiful smile had made his week. Still, if I'd been setting off on an Asian adventure I would have missed out on these vintage beauties in the town's charity shops.
This 1970s catsuit, signed "Gina Luici", was £7.99. The lady behind the counter told me it had been on the shop floor for three weeks awaiting the arrival of the right woman.
1970s catsuit worn with Indian gypsy choker and armlet (India), Office velvet boots (£9) |
Right woman or not, it's mine now.
This chevron striped Berketex Boutique two piece was £4.99.
Wool again? Am I getting all practical and mature in my old age? Somebody stop me before I get a sensible haircut and buy an age-appropriate jersey dress.
What's my Favourite Thing On A Friday other than charity shop bargains? Buying my tickets for next summer's Big Chill festival.
All day drinking, live music and the summer can't come quickly enough. Roll on August 2012!
1960s two-piece worn with original Dolcis suede platforms (£4.99, PDSA) and a 1970s scarab pendant (£1, car boot sale) |
See you soon.
That catsuit is totally stunning Vix!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
