With two sleeping cats and a twenty pound note burning a hole in my pocket I took myself off for a spot of charity shopping on Saturday morning and came back with this hand-knitted poncho. Not another cape or poncho, I hear you ask. It's an investment, I can now wear my beloved Cher skirt with added hippy-tastic warmth.
Am I becoming a knitwear convert? Is being on the cusp of my mid-forties going to produce a new Vix, embracing practical clothing and acting in a responsible manner?
Hand-knitted poncho (£2.99, Banardos), 1970s brushed denim maxi skirt (£6.21, eBay), Beaded choker (50p, car boot sale) |
Not if last night was anything to go by. I was out with some girlfriends, drinking white wine by the half-pint (yes, honestly, the pub was so rough that they had no measures or suitable glasses) and rolling home in a shocking state. At £1.80 a drink, who wouldn't?
Hope you've had a brilliant weekend.
I'm off to catch up on everyone's blogs, see you soon. x

I love it! I like the sound of that pub too.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't become a sportswear addict, you'll always look amazing.
Hahaha, I love the thought of you classy ladies necking the wine in half pint pots!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic - there's knitwear and then there's knitwear, I don't think you'll ever be a sweater/cardi girl, will you? That poncho is indeed Pocahontastic, it works brilliantly with your Cher skirt.
Wonderful to chat with you today - at last!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A new Vix? "Embracing practical clothing and acting in a responsible manner"? I think not! That is a Pocah-fan-tastic combo though...I ♥ it.
ReplyDeleteOh thank goodness. For a moment there all that talk of being responsible scared me! We love you just the way you are, Vix, DON'T CHANGE! :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant poncho. Knitwear really does rock! That wineglass-less pub sounds right up my street! xxx
ReplyDeleteha, half-pint glasses of wine?! No wonder!

Seriously...I looove this outfit! :) I wish I could beam it here and be wearing it right now...its soooo freaking cute! Hearts, Janna Lynn
ReplyDeleteNothing like a knitted poncho to amp up the Woodstock factor (of which I have many). Very cool! -T
ReplyDeleteVixcita,
ReplyDeleteI love your Cher poncho outfit. I would of loved to have rolled drunk with you on a half pint.you look pretty darn great for drinking last night.
enjoy your day amor.
Thats a stunning poncho - and no, seeing as you still have bare arms, you are not being overtaken by mundane knitwear! You'll have grannies knitting you arm-warmers;) Unmeasured wine - sounds too close to pouring it from a box; am not revisiting that scenario in a hurry! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous poncho! It looks so warm and snuggly!
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't practical with your clothing even if you tried! Do you even own anything practical and responsible looking? Hahaha! We love that you're a crazy hippy chic and I don't want that to change even when you're 80 and holding onto a zimmer frame!
Woah! £1.80 for half a pint of white wine?! That is fantastic.. I'm not a wine drinker but for that price I may be tempted! xxx
Practical clothing?! responsible behaviour?! Bahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
ReplyDeleteNEVER!
Just more and more glorious!!!Hurrah for 1/2 pints of wine, how jolly splendid, can't be arsed with these careful pours we get here!I'd rather drink at home generally!!

ReplyDeleteI haven't drunk a half-pint of wine since Glasgow University Queen Margaret's Student Union had a wine promotion on.
ReplyDeleteThe queue for the bar was horrendous, so we bought loads of glasses of wine and got them tipped into half pint measures.
Violently ill doesn't even cover it.....
You sure do know how to rock a poncho. Don't grow up. Ever.

ReplyDeleteHalf pints of wine! Vix, you are hardcore indeed. I love the poncho - it may be knitted but it's definitely not a sensible purchase which I think suits you down to the ground! :)

ReplyDeleteHaha, I know you usually dislike knitwear, but I think that one suits you! We'll convert you eventually :) And it doesn't have to be sensible!! I love nothing more than a bonfire with a big cose cardigan and my leather riding boots....sooo lovely! Cher would approve of that outfit for sure! Xoxox
