Desperately Seeking Sobriety

We had a bit of a mad one last night starting at 7pm and ending up boozing into the early hours with the Hell's Angels at their new club house. We're both a bit delicate this morning and poor Jon nearly had heart failure when I appeared in the kitchen dressed like a reject from Desperately Seeking Susan.

1980s Hunza body-con dress (40p, jumble sale), vintage Ray-Bans (PDSA), lace tights (Xmas present 5 years ago), Alexa boots (£20, Topshop), 1960s fishnet gloves (jumble sale)

This is how I spent a large part of the 1980s dressed, big blonde spiral perm and all, except the boots were 16 hole Doc Martens and the dress would have been way shorter.

I'm on the wagon until at least Tuesday.

Thanks for Friday's fur collar love. Here's how to make your own.

Get yourself a cheap fur trimmed coat or cardi. This tweed jacket was 10p from a jumble sale yesterday.

Using a seam ripper unpick the collar from the garment, leaving any backing attached.

Machine or hand sew around the edges and attach around 18inches of broad ribbon or braid to the inside at the top of each side.

The finished result should look a bit like this:

Hope you're having a good weekend.

I'm off to examine my huge double jumble sale haul from yesterday and then catch up with my favourite blogs.
See you soon.

  7. Great hangover attire! Love the round-the-globe DSS theme this weekend... I had some uber kitsch fluoro-pink and black kitten heels with my black'n'lacey 80's wardrobe. And an old-lady cotton bra that came way down over my ribs, that I dyed flamingo pink... if I hadn't moved house umpteen times since then I would have hung onto all my vintage stuff ;) xx

I spent the 80s with a perm and used Insette hairspray like there was no ozone layer to worry about. Which there isn't now, thanks to all that spraying... whoops. My hair was dyed, permed, hairsprayed, and crispy. Nice.
You've still got it, Vix, as we can see in that fab dress. Woo hoo!!!! xxx
