It's no secret that I'm a cape fanatic. Over the summer I seem to have snapped them up at an alarming rate and I've now got so many it's almost shameful. As the weather's turned chillier I thought I'd better get them out of the bursting-at-the-seams cloakroom and on to my back (so expect lots of capes over the next few blog posts).
There's no point in owning anything I'm not going to wear, I may be a vintage clothes whore but I'm not a vintage clothes hoarder. In line with my wardrobe ethos, if it doesn't make me feel fabulous it goes.
Label love.
This one's a keeper. It kept me snug against the breeze yesterday and was stroked and admired by random strangers.
Scottish mohair cape (20p, Jumble sale), Dollyrockers maxi (£10, vintage shop), suedette platforms (£5, local boutique), Pendant (£2.99, Beacon Centre For The Blind) |
Hope your weekend's been good. It's been a rare quiet one for us but hopefully we'll rectify that later.
PS Dad's showing some improvement so thanks for your kind words and well wishes, very much appreciated. x
I love that cape!!!
ReplyDeleteand that label?? SIGH!!!!

Dollyrocker should pay YOU to wear their vintage frocks - you look AMAZING in that beautiful maxi, amor. And the cape is SPECTACULAR! I love that beautiful pendant too - oh hell, I love IT ALL! You're so beautiful. You're dragging out the woolies - I'm digging out the summer frocks. So glad to hear your Dad is responding to the meds - I keep my fingers crossed for more good news.
ReplyDeleteSkypetomorrow, Sarah xxx
I love capes too. I actually managed to watch Get cape, wear cape, fly this summer! Glad things are looking a little better- hope they improve to 100% very quickly xx
ReplyDeleteI have scarves/pashminas that I wear in a cape style, but no real cape as yet. I keep looking. I expect I will suddenly discover several all at the same time as is often the way with vintage treasure. It will e such a thrill when I get my paws on one, you just don't get that thrill from walking into the high street and picking up one from a rail of twenty do you? x
ReplyDeleteI am soooooooo glad your dad is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI have just aked Sarah for the best frase in the blogosphere from you to tell my daughtes:
If it doesn´t make you feel fabulous, get rid of it.We will treasure it for good
You look stunning in that cape, my dear friend.

ReplyDeletereally a lovely look, dear vix!
ReplyDeleteI need a cape! That's what would work with all the outfits I want to wear but feel to cold in. That one's a beauty - why don't they make clothes and labels with care anymore?
ReplyDeleteI will dig out a snap of my mother posing in her cape over 40 years ago and try to scan it - you'll love it.
Glad your dad is improving, hope this continues.

What a great dress. Love the print!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning cape, in my favourite colour too! Both the dress and necklace are stunning too. Totally agree with only keeping what makes you feel fab.
ReplyDeleteFeeling much better now thanks Vix. Thanks for your lovely comments.

I am not surprised people are stroking your cape, it's lovely and looks sublime teamed with that dress, I have seen that dress before on one of your previous posts and love the colours, I would never have thought of teaming that cape with it, but you have done it again, you clever girl.

"if it doesn't make me feel fabulous it goes."

I'm sorry to hear your dad is not well but happy to hear he is on the way to well.
Dusk xx
