A Friday Frock & Some Jumble Gems

Summer's made a welcome return, it's been beautifully warm and sunny all day today.

A perfect day for giving my latest eBay purchase an outing. It only arrived on Tuesday and I was beginning to worry that it would be packed away without a single wearing after the vile weather we had earlier this week.

A gratuitous label shot.

Last night's Salvation Army jumble sale wasn't bad at all, there weren't too many there so my sharpened elbows didn't need to be gainfully employed.
Here's some of the spoils.

1950s Wetherall of Bond Street skirt suit.

Two pairs of marabou feather trimmed slippers. Those Salvation Army ladies must be a bunch of boudoir glamour pusses in their spare time.

Some unworn Nine West sandals , a leather satchel and a woven ethnic belt.

Three cute rik-rak trimmed pinnies, unused and made in Christchurch, Dorset.

Fabulous canary yellow 1970s Italian wellies, in my size and always a necessity when you're a festival-loving chick.

A 1960s Crimplene spring coat.

A velvet and chiffon Laura Ashley maxi dress for channeling Stevie Nicks.

1970's Indian cotton peacock print wraparound midi skirt.

The pièce de résistance, a 1950s turned wood cocktail fork tortoise.

A new pal for Jacob.

Everything at the jumble was a rather splendid 20p, so this little lot came in at just over £3 if you include the 20p admission fee.

The dress was £2.20. It took the dozy seller nearly two weeks to post it so she refunded my postage costs by way of an apology.

Yootha, our 1969 1500 Beetle and 1960's maxi (both eBay) accessorised with a 1970s Madeira souvenir basket (£1.95, Acorns Hospice), heaps of second-hand bangles and some ancient (pre-hip replacement) Top Shop cherry red wedges.

Any exciting plans for the weekend? We're having a night in with wine and a curry and hopefully hitting the town tomorrow evening.

Whatever you get up to I hope it's fabulous!

  7. I am so wanting a Beetle at the moment to keep Lexie company after seeing loads on display at The Pod last weekend. I cannot believe how affordable they are either. The only problem is that my husband will not let me get rid of my modern car so would mean owning three cars :(

I do enjoy all the green jewels and green nails too - very complimentary. And can I get a 'woop, woop' for the turtle? Tremendous! xx

Fabulous finds as always - that white maxi looks wonderful on you and the peacock print skirt is wonderful.
I'm with you on Oasis - although I have found the odd thing recently that I do love, they can be very hit and miss on the quality these days. I remember a time many years ago when I found a lot more that I would part cash for in terms of quality than what they produce now.
I'm off to Spain this weekend - weather drove me to it!
