Vintage midi skirt (courtesy of the lovely Liz), 1970's leather & suede platforms (£9.99, eBay), Janis Joplin boob tube (refashioned by me from a 25p car booted tee shirt), tooled leather tote bag (£1, car boot sale) and my trusty 1960's suede jerkin (£1, car boot sale) |
It's Friday and there's not a frock to be seen!
I'm wearing a couple of the fabulous bracelets Krista sent me along with a chain mail choker (£1, Warehouse sale last year) |
I got carried away with watching Sons Of Anarchy until late last night, overslept and had to grab the nearest thing to make it to the swimming baths in time. My outfit got lots of compliments from the locals so it wasn't too bad for a hastily thrown together ensemble.
My real-life bathroom, if you haven't visited me before. |
Nothing beats a long soak in the bath to get rid of that stinky chlorine smell on my skin; Kerrang blasting out from Grandad's Roberts radio, lashings of organic bubble bath from the pound shop, followed by a brisk rub down with a freshly washed and line-dried bath towel.
I found this owl-shaped magnifying glass pendant in Acorns Hospice today.
Isn't he a cutie?
It's more Sons of Anarchy, a homemade pizza, a bottle of cheap rose wine and a jumble sale first thing in the morning. Have a brilliant Friday, whatever you get up to.
You still look great, doesnt have to be a frock. love your tool bag amor.
ReplyDeleteowl magnifying glass, how cute.
I didnt get to watch Son of Anarchy last nite, some of Buddy school friends came over. Will watch it tonight with fish and chips, me thinks.you lucky gal, not a jumble in sight here.
I love that owl necklace; & that outfit is amazing - I'm loving your bag!!
ReplyDeleteJulia @ Retro Jules

ReplyDeleteLove the earthy tones, that suede vest, and the rock vibe on the Janis Joplin top!, and the fabulous accessories, as usual!
besos & nice weekend
You look great as always and I love the owl pendant.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to why you overslept after watching Sons of Anarchy. I tried watching it a few times late at night and it took me a few hours to shut down afterwards! Very visually stimulating!
ReplyDeleteIs that really your bathroom? It's gorgeous!
Its funny you mention line dried towels, my friend was horrified to find out I dont believe in tumble dryers, especially for towels I like them a bit firm to give you a good rub down, I dont like them over softened which I find yo get in the dryer. You cant beat the smell of line dryed either! x
ReplyDeleteOoh, he is a little sweetheart! Have you been enjoying Sons of Anarchy? I have it downloaded bu haven't started watching it yet...

I heart SOA. I just cannot keep up watching 1 episode per week so I'm waiting for the 3rd season be out on dvd. Your bathroom looks amazing as does your Friday outfit!
ReplyDeleteI've just had an enjoyable bumper catch up with your posts this week. So, where to start? So glad to hear that you had such a great time at the Big Chill. But yes, what an odd home-coming it must have been, to the escalating and surreal awfulness going on in cities around the country.
ReplyDeleteAs for yesterday's and today's outfits - so different, but equally glorious. And your patchwork curtains - an inspiration. The glimpses of your home are always a delight.
I do like your bathroom, and the way you've used a decanter for bubble bath (is it bubble bath?). Ingenious!
ReplyDeleteI have that owl, its from primark!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in that outfit, I love the jewelry you're wearing! I'm following you from Rome, have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeletegorgeous bathroom! I've always had a thing for those tubs!
ReplyDeleteHow I should love lazying in that bath! Always dreamed of having a stand alone bath like that! x
ReplyDeleteI swear my Mum had the exact same Roberts radie on the late 60s / early 70s - it had a wonderful tone to it. Love the owl magnifying glass you found - really cute.
ReplyDeleteFab outfit, even though it's not a frock, and gorge favourite things on a Friday! I love a good soak too. just had one infact! Big hugs for a great weekend, Em xxx
ReplyDeleteIt was too wet here today to put on a frock, just jeans for me - but a full face of slap went on! Which is nearly as good as a frock, right?
ReplyDeleteThink this hastily thrown together outfit is the Dog's Bollocks, Vix - you look ACE.
Love that owl!
Ali x
It's just not fair - you look fab even in a 'thrown together' outfit! You have no idea how excited I am to see you rocking the skirt I found for you x
ReplyDeleteWe headed down to the sea to visit my parents today and we'll be having homemade tomato, mozzarella and pesto tart shortly, then an early night x
It would take me hours to look as good as that. Does not look "thrown together" at all!Sophie

ReplyDeleteA really youthful look, like it! Your evening sounds perfect to me, I say nothing beats a bath after a swim, you need to get through a few layers of skin.

ReplyDeleteVery nice for throwing something together!! But can I say that is so not fair!!! if I were to throw something together it really would be a Frock Horror and there would be no ooohhh and aghhhh over my outfit but screams!! Your just a fashion genius!! I was never a fan of the maxi until we just moved here and the stores here have maxi skirts that are like a little beyond a maxi. They actually drag on the ground and I just love them. It is so dramatic. I bought two of them and I am just loving them!! Cool owl!! it looks like my owl tattoo lol!! ~Love your frock horror thrown togther outfit looks fabulous!! Enjoy your weekend Love Heather

ReplyDeleteAh, Vix, you look great for Frock Friday so never mind! I love that bag. My mom got me a similar one from India or was it Greece, can't remember it was so long ago. I also love your owl pendant. If I ever find my camera I'll have to take a picture of my friend's owl pendant, you'd love it. I do and I'm not a particular owl or pendant fan.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a clawfoot bathtub. I enjoyed using my aunt's whenever I visited with her. It's so relaxing and of another time.
You have made me search out the Sons of Anarchy and I can't find it on cable but I know their new season starts soon. I haven't watched it before but I've done my research on the web (!) so I am ready to watch as soon as it comes back.
