As festivals go CamperJam isn't exactly Glastonbury. The bar shuts at midnight, there's stalls selling homemade pickles and novelty fleeces, more kids around than a school trip to Alton Towers and the music's of the Motown tribute variety rather than Muse and Morrissey, but we've been going since it started and it's almost a summer tradition now.
There's even a dog show and a fancy dress competition. That little daschund won Prettiest Girl category.
Despite our fears the weather turned out to be glorious and I've managed to top up my tan.
The variety of vehicles on show are always astounding. I adore the apocalyptic rat look the most.
Laminate cupboards and Cath Kidston aren't for me, I prefer an authentic vintage interior, like this one, threadbare seat covers, lino flooring and all.
This stunning van won most the Inspirational Interior award and quite rightly so, I love it. The cut out holes designed for holding bottled lager are an inspired touch.
Our neighbours pitched up in this beauty.
Jon posing in front of one of his favourite rats.
I loved this old fire truck.
My vintage cool bag is stuffed with chilled pear cider and olives.
Hope you've had a fabulous weekend.
I'm having trouble commenting on lots of blogs and getting error messages, is it just me or is Blogger being all weird again?

O,and I do think blogger is being a little odd.....
Blogger is being a right pain. Perhaps I'll be third time lucky trying to post a comment.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in all of your pictures, so happy and full of fun. I'm glad the weather bucked up for you. Xx

ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun Vix. Lovely photos. It's turning into a cracking summer in the end.
ReplyDeleteYep Blogger is playing up again...lots of 'error 503' messages, not being able to comment etc. etc. VERY BORING, BLOGGER!!
xxxx
Glad you had a good time. I too love the rat look but would not want to own one due to the fact that they require even more love and upkeep than a shiny van :)
ReplyDeleteThat camper festival looks really quite fun! I'd love a good old ogle at the interior of them all!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful as always! My favourite outfit has to be the waistcoat and maxi skirt number!
My followers section hasn't shown up for a day or so and I've gotten a few error messages so maybe Blogger is full of bugs again! Very annoying! xxx
Yes, I'm having problems commenting too, what's that all about?
ReplyDeleteI agree the final photo is gorgeous, how happy do you look, Vix? Sounds like you had a great time, and of course all the outfits are most lovely!
Looks like a lot of fun. You're looking fab, especially the playsuit? picture. I'm afraid I'm going to dissapoint you, but I do like the 'Cath Kidston' look in campers, sorry! Can you forgive me?!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Blogger always plays up for me anyway!
Bloody blogger is being a pain in the ass again not letting me comment or put up posts grrrr. Looks like you had fun and I appreciate that you changed outfit for each van ;-) xxx
ReplyDeleteAh, Vix. Another cracking post where you've, most generously, shared your exploits with us. I think/hope I've said it before, but can't stress highly enough, your blog is such an inspiration - I really feel I've found a friend in you and absolutely love seeing what you get up to in your life through all these events that I can't go to myself but love hearing about through you. You expand my horizons. xx
ReplyDeleteWe Shop Therefore We Are
Ah blogger is playing games for me, lost a whole post I had written out and then won't load the home page properly. It's obv having a tiss with itself.
ReplyDeleteGreat post though, love all the pictures of the old VW's must be amazing to just go around and park up in one x
Glad to hear you had a good time, I always find it interesting to see how people have customised their treasured vehicles and love having a nosey inside of a camper. 'Mr' Alice dreams of owning such beauty one day in the not so long away future xxx
ReplyDeleteThat looks a fab weekend - sunshine, cider and VW's - perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThat fest sounds ace: all the best bits of an english country fair crossed with a festival: YES PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind what a camper van looks like, but functionality is a must and beer-holding-furnishings is functionality at its zenith. No wonder it won!
Such cheerful photographs - the weather looks glorious. I like the original lived-in look too, functional and effortlessly cool. The photo of you sitting on the grass in your Hawaiian dress is stunning, such a great rapport with the cameraman ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look sooo pretty in all those pics! A friend of mine went too. xx
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should take our lovely transporter conversion next year. Living in the west country I am also a cider fan so may join you xxx
ReplyDeletereally a lovely post, Vix! never have seen something like this before, maybe we should switch lifes for one day ;)

ReplyDeleteLooks great fun and what's a festival without cider? Glad to hear your was chilled! The vans look great and I love a bit of motown. Even if it potentially is a shady cover!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time. we were ll so lucky with the weather. We had an outside concert so breathed a sigh of relief!
ReplyDeleteGreat vans. Hubby really fancies a camper van!
X x
I love your floral maxi and cooler bag. The red and white checkerboard floor on that van is fabulous, as is the radio on the table.
ReplyDeleteEverytime I look at your blog I can see your love for vintage. lol It is quite apparent.
ReplyDeleteI love those vans!!
Loving your weekend outfits, the mini dress is my fav, you look amazing! New lashes by any chance? swit swoo.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fab time. Such and amazing array of vehicles. I love the teardrop shaped caravan type thing tha was your neighbour. Lush x

ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun, family friendly festivals is what I'm going to be needing now. xx
Such cute campers amor, Looks rather fun.You have a bitchin bod, I love your sexy frock number where your showing us more of your stems.
ReplyDeletehugs
I love the close-ups of you, very gorgeous. How cool are those original old vans, I barely know what Cath Kidston is and I'm glad about that!

You are gorgeous Vix! Looks like you had a helluva time! Cool vehicles too!
ReplyDeleteDo you put olives in your pear cider? Whatever you're doing, keep it up because you look terrific. Love the vans, too.
ReplyDeleteif YOU are there, it MUST be rockin! i dream of having a little camper like those one day... but it has to be big enough to house my giant dog :)
ReplyDeleteWOW...fabulous home on wheels!!! Love the beer inspired one!
ReplyDeleteVix, you look wonderful as per usual <3 Your eyelashes are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWowza. Those vans look brillant haha
xxxx
I had the same problems since a couple of weeks ago and its so frustrating because sometimes it works fine and others I have to keep signing in in order to comment.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love the variety of campers and all the colorful outfit that you wore. I specially love the vest with the red maxi!
These are Great pictures! I LOVE you long beautiful eyelashes! How do you do it?
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was fun, not quite how I remembered them, there def was no dog shows back when I went to the VW shows. I loved what your neighbours came with, so cute. Next year hopefully you'll be taking your bay!Im getting a lorry at the mo, for winter camping, I love my bay but its too cold in the winter months, you both looed lovely too, glad you got to top up your tan :)
ReplyDeleteLove those old campers.....your eyes are gorgeous.....love the long sexy eyelashes!
ReplyDeleteI envy you for having such a good time.. I wish that we have something cool like that here..
ReplyDeleteI prefer either a total rat look, where the bodywork looks so rusty that you wonder how it got through the M.o.T or an original interior. Although I don't mind a bit of a quirky make-over with fake fur seat covers and disco lights - but definately no laminate. Years ago, I remember that there used to be a couple of blokes called the Botch Boys at the VW shows and their campers looked so rough that it was a miracle that they didn't fall apart en route!
ReplyDeletexxx
Glad you had a great weekend...love the original camper look xxx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend even though the event sounds a little tame?
ReplyDeleteLove those vans, especially the one that won the most inspirational interior award!
Yes blogger is being a pain, seriously thinking of moving to wordpress, more complicated but less pain in the ass!!
I love your outfits, and I think everyone's been doing Cath Kidston (including moi) so it's a bit over-done now. I prefer the shabby look. Mind you, I loved the radio in the camper van! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah blogger is being a pain at the mo!
Julia @ Retro Jules
Looks like you had a great time, even if its not as full on as glasto. Loving your pics! Scarlett x
ReplyDeleteCamperjam looks great, me and Andy wanted to go but it was too close to holiday and family meals. :(
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pic of you in your lovely flowered number!

God you know how to have fun.. I love that little flowery sun dress too .. fabulous xx
ReplyDeleteGosh, you look damn fabulous in everything! And it looks like you guys had a damn good time. I've been having a few issues with blogger again too. I don't know what it's problem is.
ReplyDeleteI *love* days out like this! Beats the village fete ^^
ReplyDeleteCamperJam looks so much fun! Look at you with all your fabulous frocks. Love the last photo, you look so beautifull!!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love all the vans, and a festival with chutney sounds just my sort of thing. The long floral dress is beautiful, you don't often wear white but it really suit you xx
ReplyDeleteWhat fun and let me also say how rocking that bod of yours is, dam girl, you got legs for days and those eyes!
ReplyDeleteLove checking out your adventures and the outfits continue to inspire me!
Blogger is being weird! It's annoying.
ReplyDeleteLove this post, Vix - you look gorgeous and it sounds like summer is always such a fabulous festival-filled time for you!
Vix...you just look so fricken marvelous in that sitting down photo (well all your photos really!)...but you look like a sexy sassy modern day fairy!
ReplyDeleteI love country affairs like these!
ReplyDeletethey're brilliant!
The individual quirks are all so interesting- interesting how the scale of pristine to 'Derelicte' ;-) is so varied =)
Do the really tatty looking ones actually work? I don't know enough about them to know whether they're deliberately distressed looking or whether they actually are falling apart.
ReplyDeleteLovin the VW! I'm afraid I am a Cath Kidston girl myself, but I do love the original interior too.

I love going to campervan meetups too. I know what you mean not quite Glastonbury but still great fun!
ReplyDeleteAh Vix you are SO pretty and smiley in these pics :) xx
ReplyDeleteHells bells you are one saucy pin-up girl right there in the grass you cheeky minx you!!! At least the kids there would have learnt what a real combi-driving, great beauty looks like!! xoxoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteIt's always so neat to see how everyone chooses to redo their interiors. Whether new styled, original, or a mix of the too.
