Today marks an important anniversary so thank you to everyone who's ever visited, written, emailed or commented on my blog over the past year, your friendship and support kept me sane through a difficult time.
Despite my love for vintage clothes I'm not one to live in the past. I don't have regrets or waste time wishing things had turned out differently.
Obstacles, misfortunes and difficulties make us who we are and shape our personalities. What I've lived through has made the person I am today and I'm truly happy to be me.

Totally with you on no regrets, Im glad today is a day of celebration, you mum looks stunning in the picture, thats where you get your fabulousness from! My dad died 13 years ago on the 5th of May and I see it as a day to celebrate how great he was rather than be sad. Always have a blast of Johnny Cash for him. Here's to your mum, Scarlett x

This really brought tears to my eyes Vix, esp. as my mother was rushed to hospital earlier tonight (we don't know why yet). The first post I ever read of yours was the one where you were showing what you were wearing to your mothers funeral, better to have had a great mother for a short time than a crap one for a long time. ReplyDeleteNo regrets is the best way to live ones life; it's something I have to learn with time.
All we have is right now we can't change the past no matter how much we'll like to and no matter how much we plan for or wish for we can't predict or create our future.
Right now you look beautiful and you were very lucky to had a lovely relationship with your mother before she pass.
Con Mucho Amor,
You look lovely and I'm sure your mum will think so too, enjoy your drink and toast her life :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always mesmerized when you post photos of your mom. She was gorgeous and you're so, so lucky that her beauty was passed on to you.
ReplyDeleteI love that you celebrate her life, because that is actually what we should do for our loved ones. She was a fabulous, beautiful woman and believe me, there are too few of those in the world. :)
Love you!

ReplyDeleteYou have a great outlook on both your life and you mum's life; a long and happy life should certainly be cause for celebration even if that person cannot celebrate with us today.
ReplyDeleteI was down in Totnes at the weekend and it was lovely to see a group of people sat down by the river together, sharing food and laughter. It was clear that how much money they did or did not have was not important to them and they looked truly happy.
There is much to be learnt from them and from lovely people such as yourself xxxx
That's the best way to see life, even when things are tough they make us who we are!!
ReplyDeleteI'm raising a glass to your mum now

ReplyDeleteLife is a whole heap of memories and the best ones are always of the ones you love.
ReplyDeleteSo to remember is not to dwell on the past but to be thankful. As you say, life made us who we are, through the good and the bad. But life wouldn't have been anywhere near as exciting if not for the people we met along the way, those who gave us life, hope, strength, laughter and tears.
So I shall raise my glass of orange juice (well it it first thing in the morning!)to all of the above and a special toast for your mom.
Much love hun.

I just discovered your blog, and as a fellow vintage loving, thrift shop addicted, bohemian Sagittarian girl, I think I adored you at first sight! I too lost my mother and very best friend five years ago. It's still something I deal with everyday, but with love and wonderful memories. Hugs and love to you <3.
