There's much excitement in this house today. I couldn't afford to get to Australia for the blogging meet-up but I did find a tremendously cheap flight to Goa on April 1st on t'internet this morning. Hoorah! I'm off to my spiritual home for a much needed dose of sunshine, chilled beer and hippydom.
This Alabama 3 promo poster was my first ever ebay purchase back in 2000. It takes pride of place on my kitchen wall.
I'm wearing my recycled rupee chain to bring India that bit closer. I bought this from a Lamani gypsy from a street market in Mysore, with the bells it makes a satisfyingly tinkly sound. I was wearing it at Glastonbury and confused a couple of stoned revellers who thought Mr Eavis's cows had escaped.
I'm having a nightmare with my sewing project for today, I've chucked it in a heap and have given up for today and I can't decide on the right fabric for my sewing stool so that's been put aside, too. Never mind I did win two lovely blog giveaways and both arrived this morning.
A fantastic sewing project book from the fabulous Annie, The Felt Fairy and some gorgeous shell earrings from the beautiful Lisa-Jane. Thanks ladies, I'm thrilled!
oooh you lucky thing! Bet you can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that song! In fact, I love the whole of 'Exile on Coldharbour Lane'. xxx
ReplyDeleteOoh congrats on the cheap flights! This time in 2 weeks I'll be in New York courtesy of an Expedia sale, can't wait! :)
ReplyDeleteyou look so lovely, and sometime we ALL need a break from sewing. It's amazing how much better it is when you come back to it in a better mood. I have a cute 70s zip front dress that I am planning for me. I am looking fir the right 70s print that will compliment my red hair.!
ReplyDeleteOOH I wish you could fit me in your suitcase!! What a great surprise trip. I've never been to Glastonbury festival, does everyone stay on the site or do they go around the town too? Are there any good shops? Im planning a trip down there for the weekend x

I love your blog ! Vintage is sooooo expensive & trendy here ( in Toronto ) now - I miss the days of being the only one into vintage & you could go to a garage sale ( jumble sale ) & pick up amazing things for $1! I live vicariously through you - thank you, thank you!! I'm mostly into rocking 40's frocks with 70's jewellery, but you've turned me on to revisiting the 70's maxi look! Thank you for that! I also love that you're my age - it proves that you can rock vintage forever- bless!

I can't sew for shit. I once made a wrap skirt in high school, and it fell apart. I took too big of stitches. I get all stressed out even trying to thread the damn needle.
