Whatever happened to Vix, rock chick and legendary party animal? A few years ago you'd have found me backstage sharing a beer with Liam Gallagher's best mate or being chucked out of a city centre bar for dancing on the tables. Now look at me, I've spent the day doing housework looking forward to the Antiques Road Trip and a documentary about recreating Vetruvious's house building methods in modern Britain. I haven't had a drop of alcohol since Sunday, hell, I've even got a cup of tea and some knitting on the go.
Don't worry, I'm just biding my time, normal service will be resumed tomorrow. I'm planning a girly day, hitting the charity shops with a friend and a liquid lunch in Wetherspoons then it's a party round ours on Saturday night.

Sounds like a great weekend - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOhh a liquid lunch sounds good. Vix there is nothing grandma-like about you! x
ReplyDeleteHaha liquid lunch and a party. Liquid being sherry and party being a knitting one!? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look fab as always Vix, that skirt is lovely! And the belt finishes it perfectly.
xx
Ahhh Vix what is becoming of you?! hahaha
ReplyDeletex x x
But the Antiques Road Trip is good! And so's knitting! And random documentaries! Oh god, does that make me a grandma too? At least I'm in good company. Mind you, the liquid lunch is the most tempting part...I really want some cider right now.
ReplyDeleteps - I swear that skirt is a chameleon - it looks totally different colours in every picture!
You have such a lovely life! And your parties always sound so fantastic, can I come?! ;) x
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-you lead such a wonderful lifestyle, so laid back at times and then enjoying yourself as a party girl-good for you, its a winning combination!! Just love your cord maxi skirt, you look so summery and stylish-as always xxx

ReplyDeleteyou looking lovely as ever.."you no granny."
ReplyDeleteI on the other hand can not knit and I also like to watch Antiques Roadshow..that skirt does change colors.have fun amor.
You know what the good thing is about getting older is we can do all of that and not give a shit! I would have worried about saying I loved certain things when I was younger in case it wasn't cool, yes I was shallow ;o) But now I drink cocktails, whilst watching Murder She Wrote, I don't give a damn and I love you cos you don't either!!
ReplyDeleteDaytime TV is fantastic! I've been sensible lately, but this weekend is chocka with fun things too!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what bargains you find before your lunch n' party! :)
Sounds like bliss to me! That's some fabulous jewellery you've accessoried that relaxed and chic outfit with.
ReplyDeleteRelax now and party later. That's a great weekend plan!! Any Abuelita will kill to look and dress like you.
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to worry until you have to have a nap in the afternoons
ReplyDeleteHow do you do it???? You always make me laugh my fantastic friend.

Dearest Vix, glad to hear it!! Thank God for that!! I'm such a Nana most of the week but it all goes sideways on a Friday.
ReplyDeleteAntiques Road Trip sounds great I must check it out.
Please look up this programme up on ITV Player or catch up if you have it on your TV - It's called May The Best House Win - I am obsessed. I watched one last night which is pure genius - It's the one set in Cornwall. One of the houses is mind bogglingly unbelievable. You MUST check it out and get back to me. I thought of you immediately, you will piss yourself. Much love, C xx
PS. You look gorgeous in the pictures xx
ReplyDeleteWell I'm in that club too - I CROCHET and I eat PRUNES. True Story! You are beautiful as always - I love that skirt and the coin belt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSarah xxx
Here's a link for you in case you can't get it on the telly. I loved all of these people but Norma and Ian are my favourites. You will love it I'm sure xxx

Ah Vix, you make me laugh (as always!) :) You are the furthest a girl can get from having a grandma lke attitude! :D :D
ReplyDeletePS I would try the sock tutorial (my hair is majassive at the moment) but my hair is a special weird colour and they don't make socks in that colour! :P
Who you calling 'old dog', missie?
ReplyDelete:stern scowl:
I'd so love to be in one of those 'parties' you keep talking about.
You look wonderful...love the skirt xxx
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to freakin knit! I can crochet thank God but knitting seems harder.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to tell you that I love your curtains they are so unique and fun. The skirt you are rocking looks great on you.
Antiques Roadshow is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to learn to knit but it looks complicated. It's one of those things that people say is easy once you know how but I don't know how!
I've never seen a granny look so good! :p xxx
I wish I knew how to knit. Something I never picked up from my Grand Mom or Mom! You have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWell Nana thank you very much for my parcel. When I get out of my house which will happen as I finished all my copy for deadlines - hurrah - I will be spying something for you or your home!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely the colours were spot on and now I'm worried I will have to do some housework, maybe I can recline sipping tea too xx
Sounds like a plan...enjoy xxxx
ReplyDeleteNo booze since Sunday? I'm well impressed (although not sure I could manage it!). xx
ReplyDeleteIts good to be quiet .. its charges your battery for your rock nights out.. says she about to tackle the ironing xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny - stalk away at

Rock on!
Hey Vix - thank you again for the lovely parcel x There's nothing wrong with a bit of time out - one needs to recharge those batteries sometimes. Sounds like a good weekend, I would love to join you on a shopping expedition one day x
ReplyDeleteThat Roman building doco is my favourite show at the moment, isn't Ben the labourer a card. He gets me in stitches, my favourite bit was when he was complaining about the foreman, and said 'I told him I want an apology, and a cake'. My kinda guy!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with tea either, though my days have been so vile lately I am craving wine by the time I get home xx
I've only just come across your blog, and I'm hooked! You have such a knack for finding (and wearing) fabulous clothing pieces. I am pretty much in love with the skirt you're wearing in this post.
ReplyDeleteAnd come on, we all know that only the cool people knit. ;)
thrift shopping again. have fun!
ReplyDeletelive the grey top paired with this brwonish skirt....
http://wardrobexperience.blogspot.com
Hahah don't think anyone could accuse you of being a gran. You just have the balance right, recover and do fabulous things, then party again! x
ReplyDeleteI danced on a few tables too. I just wait a little longer between dances now. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, liquid lunches. Sounds like a great weekend ahead, and Wetherspoons is always an excellent choice! xxx
ReplyDeleteI like the print on your skirt.
ReplyDeleteEvery party girl has to take a break and rest up for the next party. There's nothing grandma about it or YOU. And no one really parties in the winter because it's too damn cold! So stay in and and rest up. You need to be alert to battle with the real grandmas at the Jumble sale. I know this may be a craxy question, but, How many maxi skirts and dresses do you own?
ReplyDeleteI love Antique Roadshow and I knit and I am a real granny and rarely ever drink and I hate going out at night to party ... oh help me quick lol
ReplyDeleteWetherspoons! Very envious, it's hard to get rid of a tenner in there! You look lovely, gorgeous belt!
ReplyDeletexxx
you're so unbelievably far from being a granny!! have a lovely weekend :)
ReplyDeleteOi - nowt wrong with a cuppa tea and some knitting! Did you make that granny blankey/throw that your knitting's sitting on? It looks lovely :D
ReplyDeleteb-b-b-b-bu-but... the antiques roadshow is good! and if only I knew how to knit!
ReplyDeleteGranny power!
Really like the browns and greens =)
LOL, I'm all for the granny type relaxing. Hmmm now I'm thinking vest top! In this weather! You must have a very hot house or be very hot blooded!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking outfit though (but where 's your shawl?)
regardless of ur subdued self, you are rocking those rings and the silver coin belt like a rockstar... can we say "want that belt"
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Antiques Road Trip. We record them all week and watch them in one go on a Sunday!
ReplyDeleteEvery party girl needs a break now and then... So where are you now? Dancing on the tables again... xxx
ReplyDeleteP.S. Grandma or not... looking relaxed and spectacular as ever!
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling because my life seems to have jumped from party animal to grandma in one fail swoop with no transition ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have seen you up dancing on tables
x
Ah, everyone needs some down time. Plus I love the fact that most folk would joke about drinking with Liam G's pals but that you likely were!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the few days chill out time, what are you knitting by the way? I need to get back into my knitting!
