We may have a dinner party to prepare for but I couldn't resist the lure of a jumble sale after seeing an advert in the local free paper. Not one of the best as the church hall is tiny and the queue is always huge but I managed to break through the barracade of bargain-hungry grannies to find a few interesting bits and pieces.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening! Hope its cheese and pineapple on the hedgehog - gorgeous! Food snobs don't know what they are missing!
I love the bed cover and the picnic set.. Fab xx
ReplyDeleteI am amazed by the variety of stuff you have managed to uncover. I love the 1960’s sleeping bag, and the picnic set is very cute too. The Aran knits are just lovely, Primark are selling (much poorer quality and mass produced) ones for £12, just goes to show how much the high street are knocking off originals xxx
ReplyDeleteHi there-the bed cover and aran knits are my favourites here, but what a fabulous haul for the price, well done indeed! Have a lovely evening too xx

ReplyDeleteOh those bri nylon bloomers. My mum used to have those. I used to love dressing up in her red ones with black trimming! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteFab picnic set and I love a bit of aran.
Have a wunderbar dinner party.
Wow, great finds. I went to my first jumble sale Friday and managed to pick up a couple of cardies for 30p each. I was inspired by your jumble sale tales and was pleased I'd taken the plunge. Everything seems so expensive now! :). The patent shoes are my favourite x
ReplyDeleteDearest Vix, the trippy sleeping bag is brilliant! The bed cover is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteI love a hedgehog. Cheese and onion or cheese and pineapple?
Have a fantastic night, love C xx

ReplyDeleteLove the tiffin picnic set - you'll be able to do some delicious veggie curries for that (I often have cold leftover curry for lunch at work and it is still so tasty). Have a great dinner party tonight. The hedghog is a great idea but I am most keen to invite some friends over for a FONDUE party ;) I used to eat it all the time when I was a poor student; bread and cheese for dinner, it was a great budget meal xx
ReplyDeleteLove those patent shoes but what's with the bloomers??? Bizarre. Do enlighten us.
ReplyDeleteAmazing finds! Can't believe you only spent £3.00. I think it would cost that much just to get into a jumble sale where I live! Especially love the picnic set.
ReplyDeleteThe arans are lovely, as are the patent shoes. Have a fab night. xx
ReplyDeleteoh, am v jealous of your lace up boots!
ReplyDeleteLovely Victorian style boots! I used to have an aran sweater (not the hand knitted variety though) and the hand knitted ones were really expensive - you really scored there!

ReplyDeleteI have one of those picnic sets! I find it very useful when cooking for a crowd or when cooking multiple dishes such as an Indian or chinese banquety type thing as you can pre cook some of the dishes and they keep hot in there for a good few hours. All lovely purchases but best of all is that brilliant sleeping bag - I absolutely looove it! xxx

Love the trippy sleeping bag. I thought, when I first saw the title of the post, that you had indeed had to wrestle it out of the hands of an aggro nanna.
ReplyDeleteJust asked my husband if we should get some stuff for festivals, he said 'yep, a winnebago'. Not a natural camper, is His Lordship.
Ha ha, you and the grannies... they must fear you by now. But it was well worth the possible wrath - great buys for SO LITTLE money. xxx
