This was our New Year's Eve.
Jon donned his favourite vintage pinny and cooked up a storm but silly me forgot to take any food photos. He made chicken tikka massala, chana massala (chick peas in a fiery tomato sauce) and spicy paneer (Indian cheese) and capsicum kebabs.
Our 1960's party tree laden with Cheddar cubes, pimento stuffed olives, cocktail gherkins, cherry tomatoes, capers and pickled silverskin onions was, as always, the centre of attention. We also made vada (South Indian-style green chilli spiced lentil doughnuts) with a sweet chilli sauce.
The lovely Amy sent me a fabulous parcel yesterday and she couldn't have timed it better. Along with four fabulous vintage frocks and some gorgeous jewellery this pink sari was perfect draped across our coffee table made from an antique Rajasthani door.
Any excuse to show off my vintage cocktail accessories.

Richard and Pavlina. As Pavlina hails from the Czech Republic we thought we'd introduce her to a traditional British party game and played Pass The Parcel. The bindis we're wearing were one of the surprises in the layers of wrapping paper (recycled from Christmas).
Jon and Ade.
Jon gets stuck into the globe cocktail bar, officially the best present ever.

We managed to do all the washing up before we crashed into bed just after 3am this morning. Amazingly we were up just after 8.30am without a hint of a hangover despite the copious amount of booze we put away.
My resolutions for 2011? Same as every other year, have fun, dress to the nines and laugh out loud every day. Bring it on!
Happy New Year Vix. Looks like you had a fab evening and I'm glad the sari came in handy x

That food sounds fabulous. Can't beat a bit of chana massala! Yum. You did the washing up before retiring to bed? WOW! Don't think that has ever happened, or ever will, with me. We went out for dinner and drinks, I was out for the count until late this morning when His Lordship said if I got up he would buy me a Wimpy. Old school, but I loved it!
