Here's a couple of my latest purchases. When I say "new" I do mean second-hand finds, I've long abandoned the high street, it's so uninspiring and overpriced.
I won this vintage dress on eBay last week for just over a fiver. I've had to take it up as it was a frumpy just-below- the-knee length and it's far more fun now.
I found the 1960's knee-high leather boots at the town centre flea market yesterday. I've got so many pairs of boots it's ridiculous but when they fit perfectly and only cost £1 I'd have been mad to walk away.
My darling Helga, now returned from her Love Boat cruise, made me the fabulous tartan hair bow, perfect for hiding those ugly blonde roots which I'm feeling too lazy to touch up.
Today's nail varnish is Boots' No 7's Grey Skies worn with some more of my rings (I love wearing them all together, makes so much more of an impact, I hate subtlety).
Hi my dear-what a lovely dress, fabulous pattern and style and you look fabulous-as usual!! Great boots too, what a bargain, well done indeed!! xx
ReplyDeleteYay! I love it when you show of your legs. What fabulous boots, I'd love to find some like that. x
ReplyDeleteI thought your dress stole my heart, but then I saw your boots and almost fainted. Well done, my friend. I couldn't be more proud. :)
ReplyDeleteThe dress is amazing and I can't believe those boots were £1!
ReplyDeleteOoh I love the pattern on that frock! You've taken it up to just the perfect length - I can't imagine catching the eye so much as a midi.
ReplyDeleteAnd the boots! Argh, I want some.
A quid. Dammit, one day I'm going to visit my daughter and grandson and get myself down Walsall town centre and have a scavenge. Love the dress.
ReplyDeleteThose boots are gorgeous and so is that turquoise ring!
ReplyDeleteI hate touching up my roots! I've been dying my hair black since I was 14 and now I want to go back to brown. Not mousy brown which is my natural hair colour but a nice rich dark chocolate brown. I've been dying my roots dark brown to start the change but still that mousy brown hair keeps growing back.
The pain we go through for vanity's sake!

Love the boots. You can never have too many boots!!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful, great buys!
ReplyDeleteShirl xxx
Beautiful frock! And I love the rings together, great nail polish colour!
ReplyDeletexx Comtesse xx
I love that you hate sublety a woman after my own heart, subtle is not really in my wardrobe mentality! And roots showing don't even get me started I hate my mousy brown roots showing, I mean really do I look like I should be mousy brown!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are amazing! x
ReplyDeleteAnd PS, I have blonde roots at the moment too...can't be ar*ed to do it until the weekend though! x
ReplyDeleteI would have bought those boots for a quid even if they were a different size! I have shoes I love that were bargains that don't even fit me (I'm a bit nuts)! You know I forget you are a natural blonde, I find it hard to see you as anything other than our Raven Haired Beauty! My hair needs a colour but it's the grey I need to hide not the blonde, I'm looking not unlike a badger these days!
ReplyDeleteKandi x
I LOVE those boots! And they look great on you...what a fabulous bargain! xx
ReplyDeleteGadzooks! A quid? They're gorgeous. Jealous. Very.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and boots. I picked up some similar ones (although early 90s ones) and gave them to my friend as I knew she'd look great in them x
ReplyDeletethe bow is adorable! i love all your stunning bangles and rings!

ReplyDeleteI love the length of the dress, it is gorgeous! The bow too, ahh I love it!
ReplyDeleteI have been at Chesterfield flea market today, I found loads of stuff but I never seem to find clothes.... I just don't know what i'm looking for! x
Fantastic boots, perfect for the hot dress! Glad you wear all the rings together - I would hope for nothing less from you! x
ReplyDeleteFabulous finds as always, the boots are a complete steal at a £1! The tartan bow looks fabulous too xxx

Love the dress and the boots. The rings and bracelets are my favorite so far.
ReplyDeleteLook at those legs!! I adore your new boots they are amazing xx
ReplyDeleteLovely essemble!
ReplyDeleteAaahh, the tartan bow, the wonderful dress (better above the knees!) and THESE boots - Vix-tastic! (Sorry, that's an extremely silly word, won't happen again :) xxx
ReplyDeleteVix you have got fabulous legs. And you are a demon bargain hunter too! x
ReplyDeleteIn love with the whole outfit!
ReplyDeleteThe boots... oh, the boots. I am in love. I know your feet are smaller than mine, otherwise I'd be after them!
ReplyDeleteI love wearing lots of clashing rings too. I think jewellery is such a good way to express a quirky dress sense if you're not quite brave enough for full-on eccentricity with your clothing! xx
I do love a fistful of rings, the dress and boots are fab too!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fab print on that dress. Gosh Vix, you really do put me to shame. I'm so lazy in that I resort to online/high street shopping. I'm really going to make the effort to explore the local chazza shops and reduce my expenditure on clothes this year (have even started a s/sheet to keep track!). xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE the boots, what a bargain! There's a similar pair on ebay for £19.99 at the moment. I would love to go bargain hunting with you one day. Never mind, I'm off 'chazzing' in a different town tomorrow - maybe I'll find something fabulous x
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that dress on you! And how adorable is that bow! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that dress Vix. It's colourful and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is fantastic Vix, i love it! xxx
ReplyDeleteAwesome boots, I've been looking for a pair of dark lace up 1960's boots for the cooler months coming up! Yours are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a 'dainty' jewellry girl, but I'm loving your big chunky rings. Your style is always inspiring me!
x
That's what i call BOOTS. What size? Oh no, don't tell me. That'll only make it worse ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love...if you grow weary wing them this way!
xxx
The boots are a great bargain and I am really envious of your ring collection:-)
ReplyDeleteI have given you another award!

I promise to stop bugging you with these things but I can't help it if I think your blog is great! xxx
Dear Vix, I am always shocked how much clothes cost, especially designer clothes.
ReplyDeleteI love the print on that dress - gorgeous! And in my favourite colour palette. The boots were a steel and are fabulous on you. What a brilliant price.
Love the bow and rings. Yes more is more! Love C xx
Oh my word, that dress and those boots are fabulous finds - not to mention bargains! I wish I could go shopping with you one day, Vix, I think it would be incredible!
ReplyDeleteLove those boots, what a score!
ReplyDeleteYou're a blond? I never would have guessed.
ReplyDeleteAnd it is wonderful to me that for someone who doesn't like subtle that you visit my blog! Quite liking the multiple bracelets and rings.
I hate subtlety too:). I could never walk past such a gorgeous pair of vintage boots (a quid!!!!!!) especially coz it's so rare to find second-hand footwear to fit my big hooves. The rings, the bracelets, the DRESS!!!!! You gorgeous, gorgeous woman!!! xo
ReplyDeletehow do you respond to all these comments?
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero!!!!
I am loving this dress. This week you keep raising the bar !!! I can no longer decide which look i love most !
You always inspire me so much- that's what drew me to yesterday's coat. I could see you in it and I played Vix for a day, though I need some tips on what to wear it with.
The all-black wasn't my fav. with it.
I'm thinking maybe a mini/leggings?
thanks for always visiting me and making my day. I swear, I must have been a Brit in my last life. I even try to do the accent, but Rod says it sounds oriental.
Love Ya!
xXx
