Easily Distracted

I know, I know, I know...I should be packing my bags for Goa but things keep getting in the way of the task in hand such as heavy snow, exciting parcels and friends dropping by.

These pretty packages arrived in a parcel

from the divine Calamity Jem this morning.

My oldest pal, Liz brought these round. It's giraffe print paper but it looks strangely like bacon in the photo.

We've been friends for thirty-nine years, how scary is that? Liz is in the middle.

The fabulous Christina phoned last night and I was literally shrieking with excitement. I don't think I stopped tittering the whole time we were on the phone. She's just as warm, witty and funny as I knew she'd be and I cannot wait to meet her in the New Year.

And I managed a virtual chat with my beloved twin Helga first thing this morning!

Christina's blog post today featuring beautiful green things and a photograph of Farrah Fawcett reminded me of this 1970's Devonshire Lady jumpsuit I bought in a charity shop recently. I was so excited to come across one of these, I owned a grey one with a Charlies' Angels motif when I was about 10. Well worth the £3 price tag for the nostalgia value alone.

Don't worry I've got thermal undies, woollen tights and thick knitted socks on underneath and of course, my favourite hat in the entire world.

This is what the bed's currently looking like except there's now a couple of contented cats curled up in amongst it all.

I'm only in Goa for three weeks this time but hopefully staying for longer in March. If I'd known the weather would be so bad I wouldn't be coming back half as soon.

  6. Dear Vix, you look amazing! The catsuit is brilliant on you and looks wonderful with the sheepskin hat. You look like something out of Charlie's Angels crossed with Doctor Zhivago, but you've made it really cool and stylish.

I loved talking to you yesterday, I could have chatted for hours. I'm really looking forward to the four of us getting together!

That's fantastic that you've known Liz so long and the bacon wrapping paper cracked me up. Especially as you don't eat meat! Have a fab evening. So glad Gillian's gone. I hope we see a lot more of Shaun now xx

PS. Glad you liked the green post - we like so many of the same things

  14. Oooh that gorgeous hat! I think you give all three Charlies angels and the Bond girls a run for their money looking this glamourous in the snow - almost make me feel like running out in it myself (but not quite - need several more layers than that!).
Your bed and suitcase look wonderful - colourful, light, and summery. Sigh!

  25. Dear Vixy,
    YOWZA...you look dang hot woman!
I can just imagine you flooring a baddie with a butterfly kick wearing that outfit.
The hat is absolutely stunning, what a generous gift from Christina.
I'm amazed at how fast the Royal Mail managed to deliver; I didn't drop that parcel off until 3pm yesterday, so top marks to them!
It was only a few small bits, there is another parcel waiting in the wings but that'll keep until you come back from your hols, something to come home to, that isn't a junk mail hill or a boring bill.
Any road, hope the packing is going swimmingly my dear.
I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time in Goa, thousands of miles away from the rabid Christmas madness this country descends into.
You are a clever cookie so you are; this is possibly THE best time of the year to swap shopping for lounging on a beach!
I wish I was escaping with you ;)
    Lot’s of love,
    Jem

How fab that you've chatted to Christina! And all those lovely parcels - are you going to show us what you got or is it a secret? Am very taken with the 70's hunks by the way!

  28. Your packing looks amazingly organised, I must say. And I love that hat, as always.

I thought it was hilarious, on Christina's blog you mentioned that after you got off the phone you were blethering on to Jon about her. The same was happening in this house, only I was blethering on about you to Mr D! I had to explain who had sent me the crazy apron, and was showing him pictures and telling him about your Goa trip and your amazing house... aren't we a funny bunch x
