Is it a playsuit, a rompersuit or an all-in-one? Being an oldster I'm inclined to call this denim thingy a jumpsuit. My Mum bought me my first one in 1976, it was grey with bell bottoms and a Charlies' Angels badge on the breast pocket. She had a bit of a thing about jumpsuits, my dear Mum. I had a Lee Bender for Bus Stop one in khaki satin when I became a teenager, don't know what's happened to either of them now, unfortunately.
I thought I'd wear another of my Salvation Army finds today. This snazzy polyester chain print blouse is 1970's St Michael and set me back £1.25.
These grey patent "Wylie" wedges were in TopShop's sale ages ago and set me back a tenner. I love platforms to distraction. I've won the most astounding pair of vintage boots on eBay this week, I can't wait for them to arrive.
Thanks so much for yesterday's comments and compliments, I'm overwhelmed and immensely flattered. I eat like a pig and drink like a fish and over the last three months my normally strict regime of 30 minutes of exercise a day has fallen by the wayside. I can't explain the lack of cellulite; vegetarianism, lots of walking or just good genes?
Dear Vix,
ReplyDeletemy money is on the good genes, cause I'm vegan & my thighs are 'cellulite central' but an active lifestyle deffo helps keeping the lumpy fat at bay too.
I've just returned from the post office & so now there's a small parcel winging its merry way to you & it should arrive within the next day or two.
I'm a great lover of the jumpsuit, as you know ;)
Great outfit, immaculately styled as per usual!
...xXX
Your supply of endless gorgeous outfits never cease to amaze me, adore this denim all in one and the hot pants are just fab!! Hope you're having a good week xx
ReplyDeleteDear Vix, I would call that a jumpsuit too but as it has straps it's a bit like fitted dungarees too. I love your wedges, I can't resist them either and they're easier to get around on than stilettos xx
ReplyDeleteI'm a platform and wedge fan too and really like your grey patent ones; they go well with the jumpsuit. I can't wait to see your vintage boots when they arrive though! I love boots, especially those tall tan leather '70s ones with the stacked wooden heels.
ReplyDeleteI would call it a jumpsuit, I don't really like the word romper, probably because I associate it with babies. This look is so wonderful on you.
ReplyDeleteIt's got me thinking I used to have a lovely pair of floral dungarees when I was around 8years old, I must have worn them non stop, I just loved the idea of a dungaree, instead of boring trousers.
Wonderful St Michael find there also xx
I'm thinking good genes. Platforms and wedges to die for. Great belt.
ReplyDeleteGood old St Michael! And a khaki satin jumpsuit, you say? Hope you find it - sounds wild!
ReplyDeleteKhaki satin - awesome! Unfortunately I can only associate jumpsuits with the truly awful utilitarian things with shoulder pads my Mum used to wear in the 80s. Maybe I need to open my mind to them again...
ReplyDeletewow, u really rock this all-denim outfit. I love ur shoes..I think it must be ur genes becoz I watch what I eat, dont drink and still have 6lb to lose:-( but I dont exercise a whole lot:-) I need to do some cardio!!
ReplyDeleteOooh Vix. I had that Charlie's Angels jumpsuit too. Mine was chocolate brown. Oh, them were the days! xxx
ReplyDeletetres sympa comme tenue,j aime bcp ;O)
ReplyDeleteHot, hot, hot! One day you have to show us playsuit pics from your children's and teenager days - a romper collage, maybe? xxx
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome, as always! And SUCH great deals! Ah, how I love to vicariously shop through you! This jumpsuit is indeed so fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYowser - you have some fab outifts, I love where the waistband sits on them on you. Platform wedges are great, I am crap in heels, I always feel like a tranny but I do love wedges.
ReplyDeleteKandi x
I missed your pins yesterday... Sooo *swit swoooo*
ReplyDeleteI spy some costume jewellery around your neck, love it. And those wedges are fab.
xx
oh,you reminded me that I used to have a Charlies Angels jumpsuit in navy-I loved that so much along with my Bay City Rollers socks and school bags!!
ReplyDeleteI love that outfit and those wedges are soooo gorgeous xx
ReplyDeleteHey Vix, this would have been great outfit for your 70s challenge. As for your gorgeous legs, you lucky thing you, I'm guessing your mom and dad had a lot to do with it - so I'll go with good genes!
ReplyDelete~Bonnie xoxo
PS - I'm loving your wedges very much!

Now I really love this outfit! It looks great on you, I love the cut of the top. I think good genes in your case! :-) It's a lot to do with your shape, the best I can hope for is athletic. I could never be slim it's just not possible!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit, it looks so good on you! The wedges are beautiful, I wish I could walk in heels as I would certainly go for ones like those! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your bag and wedges <3 Can't wait to see your new boots!
ReplyDeletex x x
Very chic indeed. Love the ensemble.
ReplyDeleteIf there anything you do not look good in? I need to come and have a lok at that Salvation Army store, 'coz the one here nearly doesnt have such good stuff!
ReplyDeleteLove the jumsuit, Vix!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd those shoes are aaaamazing and the perfect shade of gray, or is it grey?
I always have great luck at the Salvation Army or Goodwill. I could easily spent tons of cash there and i too would pick a charity store over a mall shop any day of the year ;0
When I was a kid, I would call those really cute overalls :) Love your outfit, and gorgeous shoes!
ReplyDeleteYou must have good genes or just blessed :)
ReplyDeleteSo so cute jumpsuit too Vix. you find awesome finds, you have a good eye when shopping that's for sure. xxx
Stunnning wedges, and what a bargain!
ReplyDeleteI say definitely a jumpsuit. To me a playsuit has shorts, not proper trouser legs. And a romper is either something babies wear or a weird American term.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's gorgeous! I've just treated myself to a dagger collar blouse from a charity shop - hope I look as good in it as you do in this one.
OMG this outfit it amazing. You have totally nailed this look. Love the jumpsuit. Love it all. x
ReplyDeleteI love it! I call it a jumpsuit too, and I am insanely jealous that you had a bell-bottomed one with a Charlie's Angels badge! This looks fab, when it warms up a bit there you could probably wear it without a blouse underneath, no? YOU could pull it off, my dear! Sex-ay! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are gorgeous. I can't wait to see your new boots x
ReplyDeleteOh who cares why you are so lithe and lovely... you JUST are!! A gypsy Goddess!
ReplyDeleteI call them jumpsuits too and this one is making me cry a little...!! It's yum! You look yum!! Love the platform wedges too. and that Charlie's Angel one... ohmygodddddd!!! :D
Looking forward to seeing the new boots xoxo
I had coudoroy dungarees as a kid in the seventies! Love how you've made the denim jumpsuit more wearable with the addition of the shirt underneath.
ReplyDeleteCutest denim jumpsuit i've seen, seventies heaven !
ReplyDeletexx
Very cute outfits...I think we've (Americans) have forgotten that 'thrifting' comes from the word 'thrift'.
ReplyDeleteAnd anyway, I think people ought to be proud to be save money...it goes against the silly, materialistic I-need-more culture that has become the mainstream.
this denim jumpsuit is so amazing! love how you wore it with this shirt and bag... and wedges.... i just love everything about this outfit!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous outfit! I think that's definitely a jumpsuit, playsuit's tend to be shorter and floatier!
ReplyDeletelove love love those shoes!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those shoes - fab!
ReplyDeleteSal xXx
