Retail Therapy

I was feeling a little sad this morning as Friday was the day I traditionally met Mum for a tour of the charity shops and a glass of chilled house white in Yates' after my bi-weekly swim.

In a bid to cheer myself up I decided on a spot of retail therapy and headed to our town's two vintage shops. Although I adore vintage clothing the local shops aren't fantastic. One is geared at students with leather biker jackets, vintage denim and band tees plus a motley collection of detagged Primarni frocks whilst the other is packed to the rafters with mouldering and moth-eaten fox furs, gaudy brooches and 1940's tea dresses at silly prices.

As the fox-fur emporium's owner isn't really into her 1970's gear (unlike me) I was thrilled to discover this fab mid-seventies cotton Jaeger sundress at a bargaintastic £9.

Teamed with my high street clogs, huge 1970's sunnies and leather Gladstone bag it's a pricey outfit for me at a whopping £19.55.

The student store had a basket of £1 scarves in the window, I was attracted to the vibrant shades of this gorgeous silk number before I spotted the Liberty label.

Two top British designer labels for £10 and I'm smiling again, retail therapy really does work.

  3. Vix I think you have a gift!! Truly!!!!
I have never seen anyone with such bargain hunting abilities. The jaegar dress, Gladstone bag and liberty scarf would cost a fortune elsewhere!
I can't believe it's cost you less than £20...and you look a million dollars in it!!

  15. Hmmm, I know how it is to miss your mum as a thrifting partner. ((hugs))

Well done on finding such great labels. I found a Ralph Lauren (spl?) jumper today, put it in the washing machine and it came out half its size. Now annoyed with myself.

Love your patchwork curtains on the other post. They look beautiful with the light coming through them and making the colours glow.
