The Great Outdoors

Well, we may be rubbish at football and have to wear coats in the middle of June but, hey, at least it's not raining which means I can take some outside shots of our house and hang some of this morning's boot sale bargains out to dry on the line.

From left: 1970's dagger collar blouse, broiderie anglaise blouse, 1950's tiered net petitcoat, "Polly of Wales" gingham skirt, vintage "California" maxi dress. All 50p apiece.

This maxi dress is just gorgeous, it does need taking in a tad but I love the puffed sleeves and tiered hem.
You can't beat a 1970's blouse especially one that fits perfectly, drip-dry too, bliss! I'm thinking a high-waisted maxi skirt and a tweed waistcoat.

This blouse will look fab with denim cut-off and some battered tan leather boots.

Here's dear old Ebbie, our 1970 VW Variant. She gets so much attention when we're out and about and even the boy racers give way to her. Darling Gilbert's peaking out at the back, all packed and ready for Glastonbury.

Our house dates back to 1750. It started life as three labourer's cottages and was knocked into a single dwelling back in the early 19th Century. Each room leads into the next and there's three doors, confusing for delivery drivers, cute and quirky for us. The coaching lamp above the front door was found in a skip by my Grandma in the 1960's.

The masonry is in dire need of repainting but travel plans and festivals are far more exciting ways to spend our cash.

We've got a bumper crop of rocket, chives and fennel in the kitchen garden this summer.

The view from the road. The French enamel house number was an eBay find.

We can't resist an enamel sign. Can you spot the Buddha's head bell pull?

This is the window I'm making my patchwork curtains for. I better get back to the sewing machine, we're meeting the gang in the pub at 6pm.
