Yawn! I had a day out with my lovely friend, Cheryl, hitting the charity shops of Derby....
scrutinising the British high street (dull, dull, dull) and having a pub lunch in Wetherspoons...
followed by a damp stroll around beautiful Matlock Bath, topped off with an English cream tea.
I'm exhausted! It's a long soak in the bath and my guilty pleasure of CSI followed by an early night with a good book.
I'm chilling out in a vintage Afghani kaftan my mum bought from a flea market before I was born.
Normal service and blog comments will be resumed tomorrow....promise!
Good night!
beautiful outfit! it suits you very nicely :D

ReplyDeleteI got to Matlock Bath quite a bit (despite being a good 2 hours down the M1 away) - a good friend of mine lives there. I was just there the weekend before last in fact, the scenery never fails to blow me away. :)
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteFollowed you via REVAS Rags to Roses... Just wanted to share some love on your blog.. Lovely tunic, and I'm enamored by your statement jewerly on previous posts.
Hope you come over and check out my blog sometime;)
I too, am exhausted. Should be in bed. But am patiently waiting for my husband to read my blog (he is my favorite "follower" and I love to hear what he thinks).
ReplyDeleteOh, and I LOVE your bedroom. And I love this, whatever it is, kaftan?
beautiful.
As for pics of my place? I will. Only it isn't all done yet. And I want it to be before I show it!
The high street, has become dull, where ever you find yourself on this Island, each high street looks the same..but at least you had a cream tea xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Vix, hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteYou are so strong to carry on and look amazing dispite your tough times lately. Sounds like you had a wonderful day, I wish there was somewhere with decent charity shops round near me so that I could grab bargains as wonderful as yours! The kaftan is gorgeous and an early night with a good book sounds equally so! Currently looking for a book worth reading and I will be following in your footsteps. Have a great day!xxx
You are the most glamourous person I know! Anyone else, pj's, slouchy stuff. You? An amazing kaftan with precious memories of your mum attached. You look gorgeous Vix.
ReplyDeleteSounds a wonderful day, X xx
Oh ! Dear ! You are beautiful !
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in the vintage kaftan - I love the details and colour - reminds me of my silk hand-made japanese dressing gown. You must have a stylish and chic mama;-)
ReplyDeleteOh I love Matlock Bath. Sounds like a fab day out.
ReplyDeleteAnd less of calling CSI a guilty pleasure ;-) I love it!
Hi Vix, Love the kaftan its gorgeous. I love going to Matlock Bath too.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week xxx
I love, love, LOVE pub lunches at Wetherspoons!
ReplyDeleteBut Vix, isn't it the GREAT British high street according to Gok Wan? Bah, nothing can compare with your beautiful vintage caftan with personal memories. You look exhausted, but absolutely lovely! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou may be exhausted honey but you look very regal and exotic and magical!... like Solitaire in 'Live and Let Die'!
ReplyDeleteThat kaftan is so glam, must up the wow factor of my night/loungey wear! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and perfect. I am gonna go put one of mine on so we can be soul sisters ;) I am a notorious dork! And I like it! Took me many years to figure out that being silly, talkative and goofy are O.K. It's my new goal in life to embarrass my Hubs as often as I can;) He is stuck in a 70's "too cool to be goofy" vibe! That must be utterly exhausting!!! I also will happily give ya my address, and I'd love to have yours as well. I can't believe you have the grace to think of others at this time. I am so honored to have found you!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colours, and such a lovely history behind it too! And Matlock Bath - that bought back memories. I lived in Nottingham for about eight years and used to go there quite often - it's such a wonderful spot!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo I live near there :D xXx
