English Lady

Come on En-ger-land!! We're watching the England Vs USA match with some friends later so there's an evening of food and plentiful booze to look forward to. I hope our boys do us proud.

Although I love our national side with a passion there's absolutely no way I'm donning a nylon footie shirt to prove my allegiance. With my get-up I'm going for more of an English lady look.

I picked up this 1970's "David Butler by Pressler" two-piece from this morning's car boot sale for a couple of quid. The skirt had another macrame layer attached to the hem but even with my 6inch heels it still trailed on the floor so I've lopped it off.

The straw hat and tooled leather bag are both previous boot sale finds, both costing less than £1. The wood and brass bangles are all second-hand or belonged to Mum.

I spotted these faux suede clogs in the wondow of a really horrid high street shop yesterday, it's a store I generally avoid but as they were priced at £10 I couldn't resist popping in and snapping them up.

I also picked up this 1970's Ronco stud setter this morning:

...I even remember the TV advert!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous! I wish you good luck on the game tonight, but I have to say I wish the Americans get luckier :D
Hubby is American and I want him to be happy ;)
When Brazil plays, it will be a different story, though...
I'm mad about football and with no false modesty I say that we Brazilians are usually the best!!!

  2. You look ready for a tea party Vix! Lovely. I don't get the 'nylon football shirt' frenzy that goes on during these events. Have a lovely evening and don't get too (I did say too) drunk. Lynda xxx

  16. I was thinking about you this morning at the car boot sale - there was a lady selling some gorgeous vintage clothing and handbags - and a couple of really lovely vintage beaded evening bags that I looked at for ages, but she wanted £10 each, and I decided against it in the end. Can't stop thinking about them now though!
