Ain't No Sunshine

Did somebody say it was spring? It's flipping freezing round these parts.
To be honest it was gorgeous this morning ,sunny and bright, and I had high hopes for donning a maxi and taking a walk but it just seems to be getting colder and colder.

The politics overload must be getting to me as I seem to be channelling my inner Thatcher, what with the old lady hat, granny handbag and the pussybow blouse.

1950's crushed velvet hat and leather Gladstone bag (Jumble sale), Tapestry boots, Kate Moss playsuit, suede waistcoat (All charity shop finds), Pussybow blouse (TopShop sale buy)

Boots in May, surely that can't be right?

After yesterday's post a few of you wondered what I had inside my giant Indian parcel. Well, it's my Goan bargains! Leather money belts, silk dresses and skirts, floaty tops, hareem pants, Nepali jackets. You name it, it's all there, sewn into a muslin parcel and covered with 42 stamps (I counted). It's so much cheaper to post ahead rather than risk going over the baggage allowance and just so darned exciting when it arrives, it always smells of incense, like a piece of India's been trapped inside.

Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!

  4. Politics overload indeed, any road seemingly the political horse-trading has come to an end & the cabbage patch kid crew will be running the country together with los(t) liberals.
All we can do know is wait & see how much of an agonizing car crash this will turn out to be. Whigs & Tories working together, eh, well I never ;)
It is ridiculously cold down here too, I’m seriously regretting packing away my winter togs…British gas et al will no doubt be rubbing their hands in glee.

  5. It snowed today. The weather is what you might term 'Baltic'. Your polka dot blouse is adorable - not seasonal, mind you. But still. xx

  7. How dare it be so cold! Ah well, only 3 more days until I head off for someplace warmer...and counting.
I've never thought of sending things home, you must have had a fair bit of baggage allowance given your tiny capsule wardrobe and minimal packing. I suspect you brought a lot of things home with you also, am I right?

  14. Love the boots!!! I like to wear them w/o socks and with a dress or skirt. Maybe it's my inner "hillbilly"! I'd love to sleep in your closet! Love the smell of incense and patchouli. Reminds me of a shop I worked at a few years back. Everything I owned smelled of incense. The wood floors were sticky with it. Yumm.... The loot seems fab! I gotta ask, what is a car boot sale? I've imagined everything from flea markets, to yard sales, to outdoor carnival settings. It sounds so cool. My mind came up with a yard sale, cause in England, there is little parking space, thus the possibility of getting your car booted and hauled away! My imagination is very detailed;)

  18. I don't know Vix, but you are just so much more attractive than the real 'lady with the handbag'. Love your dotty blouse, and yes, spring is a bit of a joke this year. Very disappointing. It must be lovely to have received some Indian memories, smelling of incense and heat.

  27. This is my fav outfit of yours yet. PERFECT. Also I at first I so thought you said that your bag "smelled like an Indian had been trapped inside". And I was like what? And then I laughed realizing what you actually had said. Because what I thought was hilarious, but really wouldn't have been a very pc thing to say!

So want to see you wear that stuff!
