Dig For Victory

Today's jumble sale started to feel like a massive let-down. The torrential rain meant that the bric-a-brac, usually displayed outside, was packed indoors jostling for position with the clothes and bedding. Table space was reduced to a quarter of the norm and the clothes were piled dangerously high. One misplaced tug could have ended in disaster.

Just as I was growing disillusioned with the mountains of Per Una, Viyella and Boden (posh area, this one) I spotted some rather splendidly printed fabric and gave it a tug. Lo and behold a perfectly preserved 1940's tea dress complete with the original belt neatly tucked away inside the pocket. How gorgeous are the shoulders on this dress?

Further digging revealed the cutsie-pie handbag and some rather splendid 1970's psychedelic fringed bedcovers, currently undergoing the spin cycle as I type.

Retro G-Plan table £1 jumble sale

There are more fabulous finds but I shall keep you in suspense and share them with you tomorrow just so you'll come back and visit me.

Have a super Saturday! I'm off for a couple of pints of real ale and a South Indian meal later and need to wash the jumble sale out of my hair.

  16. Looks like you had much more luck at the jumble sale than me yesterday, after standing in the tipping rain for 25 mins there was very little in the form of reward, but ah well you win some you lose some and today you picked a winner with that dress, gorgeous x
