Today's jumble sale started to feel like a massive let-down. The torrential rain meant that the bric-a-brac, usually displayed outside, was packed indoors jostling for position with the clothes and bedding. Table space was reduced to a quarter of the norm and the clothes were piled dangerously high. One misplaced tug could have ended in disaster.
Just as I was growing disillusioned with the mountains of Per Una, Viyella and Boden (posh area, this one) I spotted some rather splendidly printed fabric and gave it a tug. Lo and behold a perfectly preserved 1940's tea dress complete with the original belt neatly tucked away inside the pocket. How gorgeous are the shoulders on this dress?
Further digging revealed the cutsie-pie handbag and some rather splendid 1970's psychedelic fringed bedcovers, currently undergoing the spin cycle as I type.
