I Know What I Like

When it comes to dress, I know what I like.

My style is 1970's Bohemian meets rock star groupie - think leopard print, faux fur, faded band teeshirts, floaty dresses, ripped denim, beat-up leather, skinny waistcoats, hipster belts, velvet, rich jewel shades, patchwork, floppy brimmed hats, oversized sunglasses, trailing skirts, silk scarves and tribal jewellery, peacock feathers, snakeskin, tusks and anything Eastern.

Shopping comes easily to me, I see, I fall in love and money changes hands. I don't need to trail round shops constantly spending my cash, I'm aware of what suits me and don't feel the need to change my look.

The great thing about having a certain style is that my local shops put aside things they know I'll like - the Kate Moss jacket and lace-up shoe boots were kindly saved for me today by the TopShop staff. Charity shops often save vintage clobber and a stall-holder at the car boot sale I regularly attend looks out for "weird hippy stuff".

Apparently I'm easy to buy presents for, too - the more bizarre and off-the-wall the better!

  1. It is so good to have your own style - and I hope that I fall into a particular style in such a way that others will be able to know what I like :)

  3. Thanks!! The shoes were £20 down from £65 - I can't possibly justify any more shoe in my wardrobe but the girls were so kind to save them and they were kinda cute!! xx

It really shows. I can tell you're comfortable with who you are and how you look, and you have such a distinct style that reflects your personality. It's a really enviable trait!

I'm a little less confident. I've been every cliche going - goth, emo, punk, pretty, preppy, casual, etc, etc! I do feel like I'm getting there these days - I know the shapes that suit me and the colours I like. It's definitely a learning process! :)

  7. Hey Jen and G! Thanks for the comments. Great idea, G - I'll do a shoe posting tomorrow although my collection may take a while to photograph in it's entirety! xx

PS Both rings were bought in India. My boyfriend commissioned the turquoise one for my 35th birthday pressie as it's my birthstone and the long tribal finger ring is a traditional Nepali piece marked .925 silver- it cost £7!

  8. Im so envious of the ring haha!, i saw a long finger one encrusted all in marcasite stamped 925 at £30 a few years ago-it most likely has shot up in price now (local stall) which is not too bad for silver i guess, but you lucky thing managing to snap up beautiful pieces at bargain prices. :) G

I really should start a mini blog too!, being refered to as just as G is neither here nor there lol.
