Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing, Baby.....

I promised you I'd share my other Vinted purchase and here it is, only another vintage Afghan coat.  Of course I didn't need one but when it's £15 I'd have been crazy not to click the BUY button!

The kids are under the misguided opinion that those modern synthetic suede coats with a fake fur trim are Afghans....real ones are made from goatskin, embroidered and were handmade in Afghanistan in the late 1960s and 1970s.

Still, as long as they believe that and keep buying them from Sh*** (the Chinese fast fashion brand) there's all the more for me!

I wore my new old coat to walk down to the swimming pool on Friday morning along with this green velvet maxi dress, made in India in the 1970s.

Friday was nail day and, inspired by this paint advert I spotted in a hip interiors magazine, I went for an another array of colours....

This could be my favourite combination yet! Why have one shade of pink when you can have five?!

On Saturday I wore this amazing Annacat waistcoat, something that's not seen the light if day in years. It's a rare and extremely collectable vintage London-made label that commands £££s. I bought it from a flea market about 12 years ago.

Vintage label porn, I know you love it!

We saw two films this weekend, both based on true life stories. I Swear, a British film about a young lad with Tourette's and Song Sung Blue, an American film about a Neil Diamond tribute act. Both were wonderful and will make you laugh and cry in equal measure. Highly recommended.

Today, I've been wearing this vintage Indian block printed beauty I bought from the rastro (flea market) in Puerto de la Cruz for €4 in 2024, along with another of my vintage Afghans.

I've almost finished reading Dictator. That's young Julius Caesar keeping his eye on Robert Harris's book.

Cicero, the central character, said many wise things in his life but one of my favourites has to be:

I have put out my books and now my house has a soul.

Et me, Cicero!

See you soon. xxx

  1. Love the nails. I'm thinking of a good splurge on a pedicure, well, with a gift card I've yet to use before my trip even if too cold to really swim. I plan to dip my toes in regardless. I'm too hard on my hands so will just get a good polish and do my own fingernails but hope to look 1/4 as glam as you touring the City.
