So the Internet went down yesterday and what did I do? Crack on with the sewing project I'd threatened to start on Friday, do some housework, bake a cake? Nah, I braved the sub-zero temperatures and went to the pub instead. Disgraceful, no wonder no-one's ever married me!
Thanks so much for kind comments you left on Friday's post about my "radiance".
I'll let you into a secret, I cheat, my weapon of choice being Superdrug's Vitamin E Radiance Cream which I've used for years. No foundation, no concealer, no powder, I just wash my face and slap it on. With a shimmery face nobody notices the flaws.
I'm not getting paid to promote it, at less than £3 even a cheapskate like me can stretch to a tube ....and it's cruelty-free, too.
My shiny hair? It's still a novelty, as a blonde it never shone. I wash it twice a week using Lush's solid shampoo and conditioning bars (which last for months) and trim it myself using this tutorial.
Proof I have a life outside the garden, Saturday night and dinner round Liz & Adrian's. So good to catch up with the gang for the first time this year. Check me out with an empty plate, hogging the wine, typical!
Fish & duck print dress (previously seen HERE) worn with last week's customised leather jacket (details HERE) , 1970s felt hat (50p, car boot sale), Made-for-me Indian pendant (the gorgeous Edie Pop) and peacock feather bag (handmade by Liz) |
I'm linking and joining the party over at Patti's Visible Monday.
After a weekend of socialising I'm off to crack on with some real work and sort out my vintage stock ready for the weekend.
See you soon!
What to say? Well my dear - your look fab in that Colourfull dress!
ReplyDeleteStunning as usual!
ReplyDeleteI usd to be a manager at Lush, their shampoo's are so good arent they? I swear by herbalism face scrub
xx Gabi xxx
ha, that's so phantastic to read that you trim your hair by yourself after feye's method! I do this for 2 years now and my hair never looked better. lush products are great for the hair, too.
ReplyDeleteOh no you didnt! Dont you know its dangerous to show me a tutorial on cutting your own hair haha. You must have good skin under there though, and I suspect the tan helps, I am a peely wally freckle face haha. V xxx
ReplyDeleteYour new jacket looks fab, and that bag is very you. What a bunch of fabulous friends - that neon dress rocks too xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm very lustful over that new jacket of yours, I have a couple of vintage coats that would lend themselves beautifully to a similar revamp project, but I'm a bit apprehensive, what if I cock it up....och! Gorgeous outfit, I love that frock and I will have to try some of that superdrug face cream.
ReplyDeleteLot's of love,
Jennie

Never mind the shampoo that dress is definitely lush, where have you been hiding it ? Liz' handbag is stunning and perfect with this outfit. No pricey creams for me either, Boots, Superdrug or Avon are my brands of choice. Looks like you had a great time at the weekend.

Love that dress, great pattern and fabulous colurs
ReplyDeleteI'd always choose a trip down the pub than sewing or baking! I'm dying to luscious long hair like yours, but it just never seems to grow! Is there any kind of trick to it?! x
ReplyDeleteStunning!!!The dress is fantastic and I'm so glad and proud that you are wearing the necklace I made for you!!
ReplyDeleteI really need to try Lush's products, I remember that you suggested them to Krista and she wrote that they work well for dyed hair, but I still haven't found them here!Dinner at Liz's sounds like a great time and I'm always happy to see how beautiful are the clothes all the ladies are wearing!
Love xxxxxxx
OOOOOH that eye popping paisley!
ReplyDeleteYou shimmer with loveliness!
Paisley Power!
xo
that dress is fab - and the handbag just sets it off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAs for heading to the pub instead of doing all the other things - sounds like the best course of action to me!! Those other plans are surely, to pass the time when the pub is shut!
Looks like a lovely fun weekend - hope you have a great week.
"The sun is cruel when he hides away" You're looking mighty fine in your new jacket and fab psychadelic frock. You're so lucky to have such lovely skin that doesn't require makeup. An afternoon in the pub over household chores is quite the obvious choice as far as I'm concerned. Except with me it would be more likely to be an afternoon in bed with a bag of maltesers and a dvd boxset! xx
ReplyDeleteI must try that Vitamin E cream!

Fabulous how you made the colours all work together - expected combination and with hat makes for a stunning look head to toe.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I so love your bag. It's so neat that your friend made it. Also love the colours in the dress.
ReplyDeleteYou and your pals always look to be having such a good time together. You're lucky to have them, but of course, you already know that.

Just gorgeous Vix! That dress fabric is heavenly. You've made great style with the little jacket already too. You know, that SPF is a fantastic anti-aging cream too. Protection from the sun is the best wrinkle guard there is.

ReplyDeleteAnd I'm definitely picking some of that moisturiser up.

ReplyDeleteSo diggin' that sweet necklace!!! Thank for the link on the cream. I'm gonna have to find a place that delivers it to the US-- I want to try it. I like that it has SPF 'cause it's a must here.

I bet you'll get a lot of wear out of that jacket.
Thanks for letting us in on a few of your beauty secrets! Your fish and duck print dress is beautifully enhanced by the unique peacock feather bag. I think the pub was the perfect place to spend an internet-less day, especially in this outfit!
ReplyDeleteThe pub sounds like a good idea to me, internet or no internet.

ReplyDeleteI really love that purse too, works perfectly-nicely done Liz! And, I am always amazed by Miss Eddie Pops talent, that necklace is so pretty and so you!
Did you get to sew? Can't wait to see what you've made!:) I only learned to sew because my friend took pity on me and my threadbare favorite pants and helped me make another pair.;)
Oh I love that jacket, it really is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing how your beauty regime is so uncomplicated. I like to keep things simple and most mornings it's a few drops of organic rose hip oil. I also have a go at my fringe in between cuts to keep it in order.
The print on your maxi is very lovely, just perfect, as always Vix you never miss. X
Me encanta genial look, la cazadora preciosa!

You look divine as always. I have a real itch to dye my hair, but I'm really afraid because of all the PPD horror stories you hear. I don't know why I'm afraid, when I was younger my hair was never the same colour twice. Gah, what to do? x
ReplyDeleteLooking gorgeous for the pub, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
