What a weekend! A non-stop whirl of socialising, selling, smiling, sleeping and starting all over again. After three nights of fun and two days of vintage fairs my feet are broken, my back's gone and I've lost the ability to string a coherent sentence together.
Me at the Wulfrun Centre at 9am on Saturday morning. Full-on lurex, bastard jewellery and all.
My fabulous assistant.
Annie paid us a visit and looked amazing in her Kinky Melon Dollyrockers maxi. I finally got to meet the lovely Trayci too but my camera batteries had gone flat by then. Professional blogger I ain't!
Ellen and Dawn of Wolverhampton Vintage Fairs did a top job despite poor Dawn breaking her knee at the eleventh hour, over 1,400 through the doors and some great sales.
1970s lurex catsuit (20p, jumble sale), Vintage felt hat (50p, car boot sale), jewellery (India, second-hand and Krista) |
Ellen and Dawn of Wolverhampton Vintage Fairs did a top job despite poor Dawn breaking her knee at the eleventh hour, over 1,400 through the doors and some great sales.
This was the following morning at Pelsall. I even won a prize for my outfit so I thought I'd better link to Patti's Visible Monday! (Thanks to Sarah, the catsuit provider)
Gorgeous Lisa was our neighbour and had us in stitches all day long. That carpet bag was her first sale, wasn't it a beauty?
Here's some of the fabulous head gear made by the incredibly glam Kerry.
She's a doll.
Jon in charge! Sharon and Jodie put on another great event, 700 punters turned up, we were inundated and sold lots.
This lovely lady rocking the hell out of her Kinky Melon purchase, a 1970s fake fur coat.
Always gorgeous Liz had a stall with her Mum, Hazel.
Liz and Adrian popped in and made a few sneaky purchases.
Here's beautiful mum & daughter duo, Claire and Maisie from Maisie's Closet Vintage. I couldn't resist snapping up this fabulous 1970s jumpsuit from their rails.
Jumpsuit worn with a heap of jewellery including vintage earrings from Maisie's Closet and a choker from Clare. |
I made a couple more purchases which I'll blog about very soon. In the meantime I've a shed load of blogs and emails to catch up on, a house that looks like a bomb's gone off and a flight to find.
See you soon!
Well done you, Vix. Loved seeing all the photos. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty lady who snapped up that fur jacket!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great post, so full of content, I'm going to have to go through it a few times so I don't miss anything. Can't believe you got that amazing lurex jumpsuit for 20p, that's just jammy. Your friend Liz looks great in her shot taffeta dress, such a beautiful colour. What else? Too much, need to read it again. :) x
ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit Vix, so sparkly. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had lots of fun, hope you sold lots too.
My wool blazer got it's first outing on Saturday night, I don't think it'll be it's last.

I LOVE the jumpsuit - great color on you - and the catsuit. Wow!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to see the all booths, too. I see proof now that you don't just lounge around all day, everyday :)

Great snaps Vix, both days look fabulous as do you, but bare arms in December ?? You are hardcore!
ReplyDeleteLoving the purple jumpsuit on you. Put your feet up and relax, sod the housework.
Vix, you are the very best advertisement for your clothing. You are looking DIVIVE as usual. You really should be in front of a professional photographer more often; you have such a great look.
ReplyDeleteYep, I've had some of those weekends and sometimes without the sleep part. Be gentle with yourself for a day or two.
Sounds like Goa is soon to be a reality! Good for you, girl!
xxx
Looks like a fantastic fair! I'm being led astray by your blog and heading out tonight with bare arms, my pimped rock tee and a skirt that's far too short! You have a lot to answer for!
ReplyDeleteHope you managed to sell lots - I don't now how you don't end up spending all your takings whilst AT the vintage fairs, so many pretty things! Very happy Kinky Melon is online, a fur coat like that must be mine! x
ReplyDeleteGood grief, you've got some stamina, well done! You look completely fabulous, the best advert for vintage selling there could be, so it's no surprise you attracted the customers and sold well.
ReplyDeleteI love ALL the jumpsuits on display in this post - from the fabularse bargain of the century 20p lurex-tastic number, to the gorgeous psychedelic one from sarah, and the amazing purple one you bought.
That carpet bag on Lisa's stall caught my eye immediately, Kerry's head pieces are stunning (as is she), how cool that Liz and her mum did a stall together, and your lovely assistant looks... well, lovely!
It sounds like hard work but worth it - Goa, here you come! xxxx
So glad you did well. That jumpsuit was made for you. Just read your birthday post too ... you look so good in your 'what not to wear over 40' outfit. M x
ReplyDeleteYou do have stamina, especially to be able to look so fresh and fabulous after all that! That looks like so much fun, and I was drooling a bit over Kerry's hats. The babe who bought the fake fur from you is great advertising for your booth.
ReplyDeleteBlimey girl, that's good going. You look utterly fab in all yer bastard jewellery an' all. Tell me someone bought that gorgeous blue frock behind you!
ReplyDeletexxxxxx
Coherency is overrated when you look Fabulous! Love love love that jumpsuit. What a wonderful fair and those HATS! Every bit is yummy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous event and you are your own poster girl, no one could resist spending all the money on your stall, especially if you show your great lurid lurex catsuit and Sarah's one!!All the other ladies were amazing too and Liz is always one of the best dressed !I really love the mom & daughter duo, they are both beautiful and the mom seems as young as her girl, I really hope to join one of these fair with my daughters one day, they already love vintage!

Vix, these vintage fairs look like heaven. I've got to do my research and find the closest ones 'round these parts, which are likely many states away :( So many stunningly beautiful photos you kindly shared, but that purple jumpsuit is so perfect for you - that color is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Despite the sore feet, back, and smile muscles, it looks like your fairs were loads of fun, sharing a love of vintage with other sellers, and of, course buyers. And you got to shop!
ReplyDeleteYour lurex catsuit must have been like a shining beacon, luring shoppers into your booth. And I love the glamorous 1970s take on the blue Rosie the Riveter blue jumpsuit.
Looking forward to seeing your other purchases.
You were made for catsuits, Vix. They all look grand on you, each giving off a completely different vibe. Hope you get a day or two off now, have a glass of wine (or more) and relax. Or whatever you do to chill!
ReplyDeleteQuality of life! (... and more lurex to the people).
ReplyDeleteWow--first you are ROCKING the catsuits/jumpsuits!!! It's so awesome to see all the people coming through to snag all the goodies!!
ReplyDeleteYou and Jon seem to be having a blast meeting all of the vintage loving folk at these shows!
I still bemoan the fact we have NOTHING like this nearby!!
Looks like you will soon be waving at us wearing a bikini from a beach in Goa!! Accessorized with bastard jewelry and a cocktail, of course!!
Love your catsuit - looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteThe Vintage Fairs look fun but I bet you need a rest after all that. Glad they were a success.
So much Vintage fabulousness in this post my mouth was watering. *GAHHH*

A flight? ooooo lucky lucky lucky, You will be running on a beach in your bikini in no time. ;)

ReplyDeleteapart from the other people you mentioned, everyone look really fantastic, lots of smiles and gorgeous clothes all round. You look gorgeous, that first photo is stunning. Jon looks ready for a bar brawl in a 19th century pub. That girl in the fake fur coat looks like an early 60s film star. The jumpsuit looks wonderful, actually it all looks wonderful, keep up the good work xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteyou've been busy! I love the look of the handbag stall, I could have spent ages looking. x

I LOVE your new jumpsuit. You look AMAZING in it. I'm so glad you had another successful weekend. Thanks for sharing the fabulous pics. Xx
ReplyDeleteYou wear a jumpsuit like not other, so no surprise that you won a prize. The lurex number with the felt hat took my breath away.
ReplyDeleteHope that you did well at the vintage fair and that India is only a moment away.
Looks like everyone had a smashing time. I would love to get my mugs on some great things I see here. I just seem to live in the wrong country. I rarely find great shops or shows like this looks. Everything is so over priced, or it's just plain junk.
ReplyDeleteAnd you my dear, look fabulous in everything you put on your gorgeous bod!
Nice to see you and Annie getting a chance to meet up again Vix, so many great stalls there. I would have been very tempted by all those bags because I am a bag hag, and I love your glamorous friend's Vivienne Westwood earrings. I have the same ones but they're ebay knockoffs. You look great in jumpsuits and your purple one makes me feel sentimental because my mum had one just like it in the 70s only it was olive green. I always thought she looked like one of Charlie's Angels in it and loved it on her. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous few days you all have had, looks like great fun and the atmosphere seemed amazing, wish you lived closer so I could pop along
ReplyDeleteEver since watching Mary Poppins as a young girl I have yearned for her big old carpet bag!!! No wonder that one was the first to sell. The lurex catsuit is a winner!! Very sexilicious!
ReplyDeleteOh, just brilliant Vix! Love your catsuits and last jumpsuit - looks like it was made for you! x
ReplyDeleteI love when you give us a look at these sales. I'm not sure if such a thing exists here and I am missing out, or what. But they look like a lot of fun, with many friends to enjoy them with. I'm sure it takes much work to be a vendor but it looks like enjoyable work, in spite of the sore feet, legs and back. And both of your jumpsuits are excellent!
ReplyDeleteAs glamorous as ever, despite being all work and no play. That catsuit is amazeballs! Not surprised that you won an award for gorgeousness!
ReplyDeleteI would have killed to be there, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ReplyDeleteIt was great to catch up with you again. You looked absolutely stunning, and indeed all of the jumpsuits are made for you.
I absolutely love my new plaid tartan dress. I also bought a lurex top from your lovely friend at Prick Me Dainty. She gave me a discount, which I think was on account of my Dollyrockers dress!
Very excited that you are all set to book up for India!

Of course you won something for looking so good and at that early hour you should have! Both you and Jon look stylish as always and I loved getting a lil peek at the other sellers too. I hope Liz and her Mum also did well, I'm sure they did. The gal who bought your fake fur looked gorgeous in it and I'm sure will be a regular from now on. I also loved seeing Liz and Adrian, have I told you lately that you have the hottest group of friends, well you do!

ReplyDeleteLove the jumpsuit, you look great in it! And, how fab to be win a prize, for doing just what you do best!:)
All the sales lady's are looking so gorgeous. I've spoken with hubby about those great vintage fairs and why there aren't some around here. We don't know. When the weather is getting better we will come over to England to so some vintage shopping. Hubby had his own vintage shop for some years and did a lot of great shopping in England. Love your new jumpsuit and congrats on your best dressed price!

That looks such a fab event I would love to have been there.
