Helga sent me these neon hair extensions, which add a bit of colour to my voodoo priestess panne velvet maxi dress.
Yes, there really is a tortoise munching lettuce in the lounge. I thought Jacob was ready for hibernation but he's racing around the house like a thing possessed this morning, maybe we've an Indian Summer on the way?
Who could possibly feel rough with these velvet beauties on their feet?
Enough about me, here's the draw for my giveaway prize, a copy of the fabulous Affordable Couture by Jemi Armstrong & Linda Arroz.
I didn't dare share my croaky voice on film so chose a royalty-free track which I've just found out is called Suspenseful Tortoise - what are the chances of that?

That book looks like a delight, and wonder of wonders, I saw that Jean Muir dress in person at the Manhattan Vintage Show on the weekend!! It was part of the display London Swings: Carnaby Street to Kings Road 1964-1974 - talk about a mind-blowing coincidence. I hope I win the book, it would be the perfect thing to read after my trip!
Sometimes life really does feel like a bunch of freaky coincidences (or maybe the drugs are starting to work!)

ReplyDeleteYou're right about the hair wash, it isn't a task I enjoy, rather like putting clothes away. Once it is done, it feels like a weight has been lifted. I can always tell when it has been a while because when I do wash it, I could make a full wig out of the hair which falls out.
I wouldn't be surprised if we are in for some pleasant weather, or at least a dry spell, and once you're fully recovered you'll be able to attack the chazzas, jumbles and boot sales ready to fill that India money pot!

I wanted to ask you about Jacob if you don't mind, do you keep him in a heated tank or is he a garden tortoise. I'd like to get a tortoise for Riley but I remember people used to just have them in their gardens in spring and summer then they'd hibernate in the shed for winter, but it seems to be all different these days. xx
