Buy, Buy Baby - Last Week in Purchases

I'm too distracted for a proper outfit post today so feast your eyes on last Thursday's antics instead. 

The 82-year old lady who runs the church jumble sale was short of volunteers this month so rather than joining the scrum at the door we volunteered our help instead (and it would have been rude not to make a few purchases whilst we were at it).

The calm before the madness.

This is what your average jumble looks like before it opens the doors to the general public.

Here's what we found:

Sylvac planter, two swans and a Hornsea preserve pot.

From the 1950s - lace stilettos, Silhouette boned corset, three Swiss-made skinny ties and a boxed Pifco trouser press.

From the 1960s - Cashmilion lace top, Made in Mayfair Crimplene waistcoat, Acrylic jumper, St Michael Crimplene pants and Dolcis low heeled pumps.

A ridiculously kitsch clock, 1930s brocade platforms, squirrel and rabbit fabric, Hong Kong-made retro tea cosy.

For the boys: Aquascutum 1960s Scottish Tweed lounge suit, 1960s braided dinner suit, 1971 issue of Playboy

A rainbow of shoe trees, fake fur mittens, neon jelly gladiators and a 1970s birdcage umbrella

Don't worry, I'm not keeping most of it, I don't think my already bursting wardrobe could cope! It'll be making it's way to my next vintage fair on 13th October.

I'm packing away my more summery clothes and getting the lurex, dresses with sleeves and fake fur coats out of storage in readiness for the inevitably l-o-n-g, cold Winter. I'm finding all sorts of gems I'd forgotten, I may be some time!
