Okay, so it's raining so heavily that I'm confined to a house so untidy that I'm reduced to posing on the stairs. Look at those cobwebs behind me, no wonder no man's ever made an honest woman out of me.
I may be in front of my legendary Wall of Misery but with all the fabulous parcels I've received from bloggers lately, miserable I'm not.

Barry M Cyan Blue nail paint (day 4), silver dragon ring from Krista |
These yellow and natural wood bangles arrived from the wonderful Mrs Allnut on Friday and they're adding a splash of Spanish sunshine to my wrists.
She also sent me this cute retro soap in a tin and a gorgeous 1980s sheer embroidered blouse.

Who could be unhappy when they're wearing H-U-G-E peacocks in their ears?
This printed midi dress by Bernshaw belonged to Ronnie's mum back in the 1970s and she kindly sent it my way.
What else was inside this exquisitely wrapped parcel?
Two 1960s dress-making patterns, retro buttons and bias binding; A beautiful hand-made by Ronnie hair comb with garnet, rose & clear quartz, peridot, citrine & iolite to represent the Spring Equinox; a 1960s St Michael slip; Laxmi postcard and a braid of pink hair (to match Krista when she comes to visit); a 1970s Richard Shops denim waistcoat; a navy leather envelope clutch; a geometric print retro St Michael neck scarf and some Cindy pop sox.

Linking to Lakota's Ta-Dah Tuesday as parcels from fabulous women are always worth showing off.
Ha! I love the wall of misery and I love the cobwebs! You look so gorgeous in that lovely midi - the colours are heavenly - and I adore the fab peacock earrings! Those dressmaking patterns are fantastic - I want the green frock. You have the most beautiful smile ever, amor! Love you more than parcels! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteLucky indeed! Lovely items you've got there :)
ReplyDeleteThe dress you are wearing is absolutely lovely.
As for eh cobwebs, well, I can think of a lot many interesting activities to waste time on than cleaning them. Plus, I've always heard it's good luck to have them.
PS: Can I visit you on a Saturday? I've already booked all my days off from work, boohoohoo!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot you've got! Terrific dress, you look fabulous in it. x
ReplyDeleteGlad somebody else has cobwebs too!
Great dress, great pictures! I also love the 70s pictures hanging on the wall!
ReplyDeleteOoh that Bernshaw frock is a beauty, and you are right, it is impossible not to be happy while wearing enormous peacock earrings!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh with your cobwebs - think I have the matching set, must be why I've never married either!
Wonderful pressies from blog friends, as always - love all those bangles, always like a vintage slip, and you must have a huge stash of vintage patterns by now. And of course I have seen with my own eyes how perfect that Richards Shops denim waistcoat is on you!
Btw, my "real life" friends have been asking all about you, you are a bit of a celebrity! I don't need to make that distinction now I've met you, do I?!
Let's hope for a brighter day today, I am sure it didn't do my camera much good being out in the rain yestday...
Loveandcobwebs! xxxxxxxxxx
Aren't you a lucky woman? The dress is wonderful on you! Love the print. And the peacock earrings are fabulous!

You cannot get rid of the cobwebs, spiders have to have somewhere to live!! I hate housework, thankless job that can always wait until tomorrow, which never comes! The wall of misery is awesome, and so are all your fantastic parcels.
ReplyDeleteI'm just off to work and this post has made me feel far less gloomy! Love the new frock, perfect to brighten up the dullest of days! x
ReplyDeleteYou can't feel miserable when you're looking that fab! What a gorgeous dress and earrings. And your hair looks great in that plait.

Your wall of misery is awesome, I need a wall like that in my house (when I eventually move out!). I woke up to sunshine today and was very excited at the prospect of a summers day but alas the dark clouds have now returned.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit for a rainy day. You got some lovely goodies in your parcels.
ReplyDeleteDx
You certainly receive some wonderful parcels - you lucky duck. Glad I'm not the only one whose house is sporting cobwebs, I seem to have vast swathes of the blighters all over the place. Personally, I'm blaming the wet weather!!
ReplyDeleteLooking fab as usual Vix. I can sit and look at dust for weeks on end, it is a great skill!
ReplyDeleteIf only we could even out this rain/no rain thing! We need it here...
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you ARE one of the "most spoilt woman in Blogland"! I hope the gifts keep rolling in for you, you Gorgeous Lady!
Well aren't you a lucky lady?!
ReplyDeleteGreat presents Vix, no wonder you're a happy lady! xx
At least the cobweb's makers didn't leap out at you like when I moved all the shoes from under my bed! Ughh.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you're planning on giving your postman a hefty tip come Christmas - the poor guy is going to put his back out! Great gifts xx
That wall behind you is gorgeous, Vix (as are you, as always). Love the quirky collection of prints and frames, it's such a refreshing change from the usual muted colours people favour on their stairways. x
ReplyDeleteGreen in a frock need I say more....love.
ReplyDeleteThe soap in is just the sweetest thing
You look amazing in your long side braid and that dress is perfection, the upper part is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou remind me a bit of Rapunzel, cought in her tower, posing on the stairs, a real princess!
I love every single picture on your wall, I'd love to start a similar collection, but the big eyed art pieces are quite rare here and pricy!
The illustration on the soap box is adorable, great colors, I must try to draw it!
Very beautiful presents, I'd love to have the red dress on the patterns and Cindy sox are lovely!
Lots of love
xxxxxxx
You're misery wall is growing on me - their eyes use to scare the life out of me but they now just seem deep and mystical! We went two months without hoovering after the hoover belt broke and them then sending us the wrong one time after time so i'm all for dust and cobwebs. As long as there are no spiders on said cobwebs!
ReplyDeleteEh cobwebs-- it's just texture!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your goodies!! I'm thinking one of those dress patterns would do the fabric i sent justice!
wow-those earrings were made for that dress!!
I love the wall of misery!! It's freaky in a cool way!
Tamera

Shame about the rain, its not been too bad here. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow for you.Lovely bangles too. Much love x
ReplyDeleteMisery must slide off you like water off a duck- you look deleriously gorgeous in that frock and your bangles. Sr Allnut rocks color like no other so I'm not surprised the sunshine yellow bangles are from her. You are spoiled because you spoil! What a hub you are, our queen bee in a marvelous hive of stylish bloggers! xo. -Bella Q

Nice pressies! That's so funny, I actually have a dress made in the shape of the pink one on the 60's dress pattern which I wore yesterday during school time! Damn the rain, though it did bypass me!
ReplyDeleteYour dress looks stunning. Your wall of misery creeps the hell out of me and makes me smile all at the same time. You have the most gorgeous smile, Vix, I can imagine I would spend a lot of time snorting laughing if we ever got together for a day of chazza shopping. Em ♥
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I LOVE the cobwebs!! Thank you for sharing and being so unpretentious. I'm so glad I'm not the only domestic slattern around here. The rain really doesn't help does it? Just makes you want to do absolutely nothing but curl up and read (usually blogs)! You are very lucky to receive such lovely parcels from your adoring readers. It must make the whole blogging experience so rewarding. You've certainly put the time and effort in to supporting so many new bloggers over the years that you deserve it. Have a fab week xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's rare to see you indoors! Looking good still though. Ah cobwebs who cares, there are more important things in life, the only time our house gets a real spring clean is when we have people staying, which at the moment is quite rare, so let's just leave it at that ha ha!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in that dress!! :D

Great goodies! I Love your wall of misery, it makes me happy! the cobwebs add a certain je ne sais quoi ;)
ReplyDeleteTa Dah is right! Love the way you pulled your parceled goodness together. Do you ever just wear a raggedy t-shirt and yoga pants? Don't tell me, I wouldn't want to know, it would spoil my image of your vintage glam life. Great pics, as always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gifts all! Your dress is the counter to the rain outside and there's nothing wrong with posing on the steps. You are gorgeous no matter where you stand.
ReplyDeleteYou ARE the most spoiled woman in the blogosphere - but because you are the antidote to misery you DESERVE IT ALL!

The dress and earrings are fab and your long plait makes me want to grow my hair long again. I love the wall of misery - we've got the picture of the little girl with the candle on our stairs too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what is going on with that picture on the soap tin? Are they washing a Charlie Chaplin doll? They seem to be on the lookout in case of discovery as well... Odd
Nikki x
As a PE teacher friend once said to me ... if you're not out in the rain in a soggy tracksuit, don't feel miserable about it! So true! :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to make those 60s dresses- they look amazing, just waiting to be brought into life!
Oooh, can't wait to see when you've made those dresses. I'm so glad we're from the same school of domesticity, there's nowhere in my house fit for an outfit shot either. Xx
