I've just torn open a parcel from the divine Krista, not only one of my real life best buddies but also my partner in Lakota's jubilee swap. How gorgeous is this Missoni jumper?
Talking of divine bloggers look who came up to visit on Saturday to spend the day charity shopping and hanging out in Wetherspoons, only the gorgeous Clare! She's just the most fun, prettiest and loveliest girl ever, I can't wait for us to meet up again soon. She snaffled some amazing vintage goodies (which, hopefully, she'll be blogging about soon) and got to meet some of Walsall's finest crazy people.
Missoni sweater worn with a 1960s Dollyrockers maxi skirt (99p, eBay), Rajasthani mirror work waistcoat (£2.50, the Crest Foundation), velvet platform boots (£1, car boot sale), crochet beret (courtesy of Elizabeth) |
Some may say that a cool item of designer clothing should be teamed with plainer pieces to let the quality do the talking. I say how boring! It would be a crime not to do justice to something incredible by wearing it with equally fabulous statement pieces.
Krista made my this rocking stud bangle, it compliments my other heavy metal jewellery a treat (she sent me the silver dragon ring last year). The nail paint is Denim by Barry M, it shimmers like the chunk of Lapis Lazuli in my ring.
Indian beaded earrings from the Auroville Ashram at Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu.
Other gifts from Krista included a groovy psychedelic cat picture, two hand made felt hair pretties and a cute daisy print vest.
Darling cards and some fabulous bright Coneflower and Painted Daisy seeds which I'll be sowing this afternoon, now it's stopped raining.
Two beautiful hand made necklaces with skulls, Hindu kitsch and hearts aplenty.
An amazing bead and skull bangle, rocking ring and the stud bangle. Lucky? Me? Oh yeah! I just hope Krista loves the contents of her swap parcel as much as I did!
Blogging buddies are the best!
See you soon.
I'm getting more and more green-eyed with each post I read! Krista did a brilliant job, she knows you so well. And you got to meet lovely Miss S too, how lucky are you. I'd have loved to be there. Bloggers rule!

ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Missoni's patterns and that jumper is a beauty.
The jewellery is all so personal and carefully chosen, she's got such talent.
You're a great pairing for the swap, both such vibrant, positive and bright ladies.
I guessed it was Clare you were meeting, eventually, when she said she was getting up early to catch a train.
Your blog lately is the best advertisement for blogging imaginable. The friendships, fun, parcels and motivational theme is second to none.
Look forward to seeing Clare's finds, and Krista's parcel from you.

Love the way you styled the Missoni, you sure do patterns fabulously! How lovely to meet another blogger too! Be careful sowing those purple coneflowers -- put them someplace they can go wild as they are super invasive. Not nicknamed "snakeroot" for nothing!
