Heart-shaped pendants and yellow roses? It must be St Valentine's Day.
The elements of today's ensemble. |
I like my clothes how I've always liked my men, good looking, unique and preferably vintage.
When an outfit comes together it's by accident rather than design, I'd never buy something just because it'll go with something I already own, that just takes the thrill away from any shopping expedition.
Maxi skirt hand-made by me using some psychedelic fabric (given to me by Jennie), 1970s C&A tee shirt (99p, Banardos), original Dolcis green suede platforms (£4.99, PDSA), Mongolian lamb scarf (20p, jumble sale), Denim waistcoat, 1950s rose bag (20p, Car boot sale) |
It makes me giggle when strangers tell me I'm a creative dresser, I just throw it all on and hope for the best.
Happy Valentines' to you all!
Jon and I've exchanged hand-made cards and silly gifts, he got "Kiss Me Quick" candy floss-scented soap and a charity-shopped tee-shirt I'd customised by dyeing flamingo pink, I got a bumper pack of old skool Love Hearts sweets and a bottle of pink fizz, which should go down a treat with the pakoras, cucumber raita, wholemeal chappatis and veg Jalfrezi I'm cooking later.
See you soon!
"Kiss me quick" and heart shaped yellow roses? How cheeky and romantic of you both!;-)

ReplyDeleteI love Lovehearts; a real classic.
ReplyDeleteMy other half and I agreed to only exchange cards this year; the words I found in my card this morning moved me so much I nearly cried in a very happy way.
Words can mean so much more than an overpriced bunch of flowers ever can :)

I love the skirt you made and the green boa. And frankly it is such a relief to see something besides pink and red! I like vintage men myself.
ReplyDeletePerfect, really perfect. The colours and the textures and everything!
ReplyDeleteI'm experimenting with being more careful about what I buy and so far I think it's doing me well, it's an alien concept slightly but it's quite fun because when I see something I like, I truly know why I like it (not why why- but knowing that it speaks to my heart) =)
Sounds so cute! That's nice that you both put the effort in!
