Birthday Girl

What do you get a 45 year-old woman for her birthday? My blogging buddies know me so well!

Being a bad girl I opened some of my presents last night to allow me plenty of time to tart myself up for my birthday trip to the Clothes Show today.

Indian cotton maxi dress, Batman DVD, brass tribal choker and blingy beads, Nails Inc hot pink nail polish and a funky leopard skin nail transfer kit.

The fabulous La Dama sent me this parcel of joy (above) which also included this amazing Mexican maxi skirt.

Fabulous Mexican maxi worn with a 1970s Jethro Tull tour tee pimped up by me (Saturday's jumble sale), 1980s leather belt (Vintage Village @ Clothes Show 2009) and a heap of junk jewellery.

This parcel was from the gorgeous Krista....

....pretty vintage navy blue gloves, some funky zebra Sally Hanson nail effects, a fairy tattoo and this beautiful Ganesh pendant made by her own fair hands...

and this Californian-made peacock print mini dress....

Slinky frock worn with (now repaired) 1970s Dolcis platform boots and a load of second-hand costume jewellery.

The retro Australian tea towel, 1970s scarf and kitsch deer ornament are from lovely Liz....

..... as is this stunning 1960s suede mini skirt.

The awesome Curtise sent these freaky kid place mats, a pair of kitsch-tastic china poodles for my collection and an exquisite hand-rolled scarf, 

and this a-freakin'-mazing St Michael two piece. Can you believe Marks and Spencer ever made clothes this cool?

Cher-tastic trouser suit worn with attitude.

I was lusting after this on eBay a while ago but stopped watching it for some mad reason that even I can't fathom out. When I finally get to Goa it'll be coming with me as well as to all next years' festivals. I was tempted to wear it to the Clothes Show but even my hardy Northern constitution can't cope with a bare belly in December.

Blaxploitation and bad-assed, big breasted ladies..these DVDs can only be from the magnificent Helga.

Auntie Sarah sent me this beautiful Edwardian-style maxi dress in addition to...

...a stunning monochrome maxi dress, the best sunglasses in the world, ever, groovy zebra nail effects and some retro Australian tea towels.

How spoilt am I?  Very (but I like it)!
