Feels Surreal

We seem to be have done nothing other than go out on the lash lately, last night being no exception. I knew it'd been a wild one when I woke up to find various bits of my outfit randomly scattered across the house, a velvet glove in the bath, a false eyelash adhered to the fridge and a trail of bangles leading up the stairs.

The friends we met yesterday are an odd group which include a hyperactive 75 year-old, my late Mum's hairdresser and a sheep farmer. Needless to say that our nights out always end up bizarre affairs with drink-fuelled karaoke sessions until dawn, arguments and rows, tears and tantrums, mislaid belongings, jaunts to strange backstreet pubs and someone having to travel home in the boot of the designated driver's car.

Last night was no exception, two of the group stormed off in a huff, Jon lost his hat, there was a dispute with a waiter and I danced with a hunchback in a tracksuit to The Smiths' This Charming Man.

1970s turquoise maxi dress (£5.99, St Giles Hospice), Velvet boots (Office), Velvet gloves (Jumble sale), Fake fur collar (handmade)
At least I didn't wake with a hangover as we're out again in a bit. More booze, more curry and undoubtedly, more fun.

See you soon.

  2. You and your shenanigans Vix! I am so glad I didn't end up like that on Friday night after consuming a bottle of wine... at home!!

I do love your outfit, though. And the smiths? Good track. I'll be featuring it in Lola 2; along with "You Came" by Kim Wilde! :)

  3. How DO you do it?

Sounds like you should be writing a novel. With characters and experiences that you are chalking up, it should be a GREAT read!

  14. I can only aspire to be as decadent as you, dahlink Vix, with a false eyelash stuck to the fridge!

Our local is filled with the most divinely delinquent pensioners, who behave like merry teenagers - I want to grow up to be just like them!

Sounds just like your sort of crowd!

  16. Well, it makes perfect sense to me that at some point one peels off an eyelash and sticks it on the fridge... has the other one turned up yet?

    Amazing adventures...

Just a bit worried in case the passenger-in-the-boot ever gets forgotten when everyone's piled out... x

  37. Oh Vix you look simply gorgeous in that green dress.
Tee hee I think we have all had nights where an outfit becomes house decoration. I have woken to a dress on the floor that looks like a cocoon in which I've crawled out of and I assure you it's know butterfly lying beside it.
    Happiness to you Love V

  63. Tales of such wonderful times! You really do live life to the fullest and this I admire greatly.
I am quite shamefully embarrassed of my behaviour the weekend just gone; I got so drunk I woke up with no recollection of the night before. My poor Mr had to carry me to bed and somehow managed to get me back to the room in one piece. The events in-between are quite a blur; apparently I was laughing so loud the whole hotel heard! The drunken tweet I sent you sure was spontaneous; I hope you didn’t mind xxx
