Such A Perfect Day

A beautiful morning for a car boot sale.

This was the scene at 8am this morning, a packed field and stalls piled high with cheap tat.

I stay well clear of the meat auction but some people just come car booting for a tray of cheap lamb chops and a box of chicken drumsticks.

I prefer to stick to a vegetarian diet and come home with a bagful of non-edible bargains.

Here's today's booty:

Clockwise from top left: 1930s era Art Deco Czechoslovakian-made seagull , Butterick dressmaking pattern , Handmade Saloon girl/Can-Can costume , 1960s BORG faux fur coat , A creepy child for my infamous Wall of Misery , USA-made leather cowboy boots , Crochet shawl , 1960s Polish enamelware Bain Marie, 1960s Lord Nelson Pottery mustard pot to add to my Gaytime collection, St Michael Bri-Nylon nightie

1970s velour maxi (courtesy of the fabulous Sarah Misfit, vintage suede jerkin (£1, car boot sale), Tooled leather bag (Courtesy of Queen Helga)
Not a bad little haul for just over £10.

I'm off to the pub for a school-night beer and no doubt a cheeky curry afterwards.
Have fun whatever you get up to.

  3. What a gorgeous dress!
I have a thing for coats, my aunt, cousins and I have hundreds between us, we go nuts for them - I'm very taken with today's find. In fact, I'm very taken with everything you snapped up today. A drink and curry sounds just right, I may have to go and make a curry now. And buy some bargain wine, it'll be on my mind all night otherwise!

  20. Looks like a good boot sale indeed....ooohhh look at all your new treasures!! That pattern looks cute! I have this now on my list of things to do I would love to go to one of these car boot sales!! being an american I am assuming it means a sale out of the trunk of your car which must be the boot??? I hope I got it right. But whatever it looks absolutely fantastic. There is no vintage or thrifting here :( I do miss my weekly trip to get a coffee and pop in and see what the thrift store had. I remember one day at the thrift store hey jude came on and everyone in the store was singing it hehehe ....good Memories. You look lovely the dress has fantastic color in it what a great maxi....I just love lots of color :) Wishing you a Most Wonderful Weekend and I hope the Curry is Fantastic...~Love Heather
