...but regular readers will know that already.
Here's a few of my latest finds from my favourite decade from this week's car boot sales.
The nylon lace maxi dress was £5 and thoughtfully came with the date the seller last wore it pinned to the front.
This stainless steel and faux pearl cocktail ring was £1, the nails are painted in Cyan Blue by Barry M. I reckon Bazza should give me a job, four women stopped me in Boots today to compliment me on my outfit and ended up buying the same colour nail polish. I've been wearing Barry M since 1982.
The groovy turquoise over-sized sunglasses were 20p.
My favourite buy has to be this 1970's Charlie locket still filled with the original solid perfume which still smells as good as I remember it did back in my early teens.
Thanks so very, very much for the amazing messages regarding my last post. I'm totally and utterly blown away by the support for my cheapskate way of living.
I'm woefully behind on blog visiting but I will get back to all of you who were kind enough to comment. In the meantime there's a jumble sale on tonight, a car boot sale in the morning and a bottle of wine and a homemade pizza with my name on it in between.
See you soon. xxx

The Charlie perfume is an amazing find. I do remember the iconic commercials and how I thought that Shelley Hack looked so happy and independent as well as so glamorous!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend,
The Charlie perfume locket looks so cute. I wish I got to live through the 60s and 70s, they seem like such amazing times - I swear I was born in the wrong time period. Anyway..lovely post like always and looking fab :)

You're looking lovely, as always. The Charlie locket filled me with nostalgia, it was the perfume of my youth but my mum would never get me the pendant, deeming it too expensive, although I did get the perfume (bottled) from a kindly auntie!
ReplyDeleteHave a date with a jumble sale tomorrow, a rare event these days it seems, hope I do as well as you!
Love Curtise x

ReplyDeleteHey gorgeous! I love that Charlie pendant, it looks amazing on! Now all you need is some Brut or Denim aftershave for Jon and you will smell very 70's too. Mind you I love Brut and Blue Stratos if you remember it! Used to unscrew the top and put a bit on when I worked at woolies!

ReplyDeleteDearest Vixy,
ReplyDeleteI was given a bottle of 'Charlie - Eau de Toilette' for my seventh birthday by my sister and I remember feeling pretty special wearing smelly stuff at such a tender age ;)
I also recall the cheesy 'Charlie' TV commercials back in the 80s.
I love that adorable nylon frock, you look pretty as a daisy in the morning dew.
Have a fabulous weekend darling!
Take care,
Jem
