With the worry of Helga and G uppermost, I wasn't in the right frame of mind for showing off the two parcels of fabulousness I received yesterday from two of my favourite vintage loving beauties, Sharon and Desiree but, never fear, all my treats will be showcased over the next few blog posts along with a very glamorous frock courtesy of Christina.
It's half-term here in the UK which means I get to spend week days with my teacher friends. Today I was out in nearby Dudley for a Wetherspoons' lunch and a charity shop bonanza.
Vintage pinny for when I'm playing the perfect little housewife (ha ha ha) 50p
Cinch belt £1.99
1960's French Polarised yellow lens sunglasses 95p
For harnessing my inner Nana Mouskouri
My Dad fancied her when I was a kid, I'd better not wear them when I pop round to visit, he has trouble recognising me at the best of times. A couple of years ago he told my Mum that a "very glamorous woman" had called round and given him a book, not realising it was me, his own daughter.
How much do I adore these vintage 1970's silver platforms?
Funnily enough I was watching an identical pair of eBay before Christmas but they went way above my price range.
Unlike these!
Thank you to all of you for the messages of concern yesterday, I know it meant a great deal to Helga.
Vintage Bellissima of Sydney mini dress (Courtesy of the awesome Desiree), Grey boots (Local boutique), Yellow pendant (the lovely Ivy Black)
It's that time of the month again and I'm off to the exclusive jumble sale preview tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
Oh god, those shoes are amazing!!!! xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear everything was okay in the end. Great finds again Vix! Well my dear at least your Dad referred to you as a glamourous woman! Love your boots.
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on my blog, if you come across any other Utility clothing, can you grab it for me please? I don't care if it doesn't fit, I just want to own a little bit of history. :)
As always I am in awe of your clothing and accessories. I am also really curious about the size of your clothes closet. Huge?
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-yes, what a huge relief to know Helga is safe and sound!! Lucky you, those silver platforms are just divine, a fabulous find indeed, as are your other goodies!! The vintage mini dress looks stunning on and I must say as a compliment, you and Nana look so alike, its uncanny huh!! Good luck at the jumble, as if you need it though, lol!!xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love this dress with your boots Vix, and those gold shoes are amazing! Have a great time tomorrow at the jumble sale xxx
ReplyDeleteDear Vix,
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved that all is well with Helga & G, I thank the guardian angels that were looking out for them.
Yowza, those shoes are FABULOUS...I really like the Nana M glasses too.
You are looking glorious in that colourful printastic frock my dear.
Best of luck for tomorrow, hope you find some magnificent stuff.
Lot's of love,
Jem
...xXx
That's so funny about your dad - I mean fancying Nana Mouskouri/the Polaroid glasses, not the fact that he doesn't always recognise you! Gorgeous sandals too.
ReplyDeleteOh Vix, you look so stunning! <3<3
ReplyDeleteMy friend's nanny is the same, she started screaming at my friend to get out of her house and stop drinking her 7up! I was laughing so much that I couldn't even breath haha. It might have been sometime got to do with the fact that I told her nanny that my friend's name was Jamie...omg I'm terrible hah
So glad that Helga is safe and sound! :)
Wow those gold shoes, Nana definately wouldn't have worn those.
ReplyDeleteLooove the dress! <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab buy those shoes are, I'm envious ... yet again! And I love those glasses - very Cannes chic! Good luck for the jumble preview - I'll be looking forward to seeing what you manage to snaffle! xxx

Wasn't it wonderful to hear from Helga, bless them, it must be dreadful for them amongst all that sadness.
Kandi x
Ooh, Vix, love the mini-dress grey tights combo! Needed a bit of outfit inspiration and there you were. The gold shoes are fab, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the reference to Nana Mouskouri, too - you're a good likeness with those specs. My dad fancied Diana Rigg when he was younger, and every time someone says I look like her it makes me shudder... :) xxx
You and your lovely locks. Sigh. I love your hair. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd look at all these amazing discoveries! You're a lucky shopper. :)
PS. That dress is AMAZING on you!! xoxo
Hi
ReplyDeleteSorry if this is stupid, but can you please give us the low-down on how you hold one of your dinner parties??
I would love to throw one for cousins of mine , and could you please possibly do a post on the food you have and drinks, snacks etc?
I am going for a indian theme (your kinda thing!) and also mix in some japanese flavours and japanese foods.
A dinner party/foody post would be fabtastic!
Ciao :))))
Hi Anon! Great for you to comment. I'll definately do a party post soon if that's what you'd like. Any suggestions for posts are always welcome. x

I kept popping back yesterday to chack for news and was so peased to see Helga is OK. The more I see on the news though the more I realise how bad it was - there was some CCTV footage on this morning of the actual quake - so scary.
ReplyDeleteBless your Dad, but at least you're a glamorous woman - my friend's Granddad has taken to saying she's a 'bonny lad' - and she's very feminine!
I really like the grey boots you are wearing!
ReplyDeleteHi Vix
